Wu Ke: Restless Spirit
update icon Updated at 2025/12/24 8:00:02

The bus slowly rolled up. The three of us, plus Wu Ke, boarded. No seats left. Wu Ke, strong and sturdy, went first. I pulled Xiao Yao—whose movements were awkward—and my sister onto the bus. Too crowded to chat. I glanced around, hoping to spot a pretty girl to ease my eyes. Hehehe. Today’s surprises overwhelmed me; I needed to calm my nerves. Yeah, calm my nerves!

Huh? The woman standing ahead had an amazing figure. Her low-cut top hugged her curves, makeup flawless. But those prominent breasts stole my gaze—looked like a solid E-cup. That’s cheating! I thought our country had no such rule-breaking bunnies. She must be a spirit now~ Still, I kept my viewing civilized.

Suddenly, the fruit phone’s ringtone blared. The beauty pulled the vibrating, premium device from between her cleavage. All I saw were two big bunnies winking at me! Aww, so cute—I’d snatch them if they weren’t taken!

"喂? The kid’s born. Don’t forget the payment. We signed a contract."

Oh? She’d matured into a lady, even had a child. No wonder those curves broke rules!

"Heh, money’s here? I want that villa too. Refuse? Fine—I’ll ask your wife."

"What else? If you want out, park the Lambo at the villa gate."

Silence from the other end. Then murmurs.

"Don’t worry. I won’t bother you again. I’m here for cash, nothing else~"

"Personality? What’s that? Edible?"

Beep! She hung up, tucking the phone back between her bunnies. I dared not look. Not that I judged her choices—but a mother who’d trade her child? Her eyes chilled me.

Wu Ke, standing before her, must’ve overheard. He shook his head, smiling faintly. No comment. Maybe he thought it harsh, but felt unqualified to judge.

Just as I stopped daydreaming, the driver slammed brakes. Later, I learned a speeding car had crashed ahead. Right then, I knew: disaster! My soul trembled inside Xier’s body, threatening to flee—who knew where it’d land? A shard of jagged glass flew toward us. Death or injury for sure!

In that split second, a red figure shielded me and the lady. Wu Ke blocked the glass—but blood soaked him head to toe. That crimson-eyed Hunter stood so tall. I couldn’t lag! I threw myself before my sister and Xiao Yao. Wait—this was Xier’s body! I ducked behind the lady, hoping her bunnies’d shield me.

Wu Ke’s body lurched toward us, neck artery pierced by glass. Maybe he regretted it. If reborn, he’d still shield girls—such a straight-laced otaku hero. Silently, I thanked him. May your next life bloom in Gensokyo.

Boom!

His weight crashed into the lady. She knocked my head. My soul scattered wildly—briefly slipping into Wu Ke’s body, feeling life fade. Then I snapped back.

Regaining senses, I checked my body. Relief flooded me—I was still in Xier’s form. I shook my sister and Xiao Yao.

"Wake up! Sister! Xiao Yao! Don’t scare me!" Their scrapes were minor. I feared their souls had drifted. Earlier, my unstable soul had brushed my sister’s unique warmth, my original body’s frail legs, even the lady’s heavy chest. Please, don’t let their spirits tangle...

"Mmm... Brother, you’re safe!" My sister woke. Half my worry lifted. I turned to Xiao Yao.

"Huh? Why do I see myself? Ow, my foot!" The voice from my body startled me. Not Xiao Yao—Xier herself!

"Are you Xier?"

"Yes! Who are you? Why in my body!" she gasped.

"Oh~ I’m Hua Shu. You’re in my body. We swapped souls."

"Hua Shu? I’m in your body... Phew. Actually, not bad~"

Her odd tone puzzled me. No time. Where was Xiao Yao?

"Xiao Yao! Where are you?" I yelled. Uninjured passengers staggered up. Panic rose.

"Right here~ I got squeezed out. Back to spirit form. Such a shame."

Phew. Everyone safe. Only then did I check Wu Ke. A friend, barely met—he’d saved us.

His bleeding body gasped shallowly. I dialed emergency, no mistakes this time, giving our location clearly.

As I called, Wu Ke’s eyes snapped open. He stared at his blood-soaked form, mouth moving in silent shouts. His throat was ruined.

The lady sat up, rubbing her head. She opened her eyes, felt her hands, adjusted her leaning posture. Her heavy bunnies bounced with each breath, celebrating their owner’s return...
