Eye Orb’s idea was to let Li Dogegg take control of Night Frost’s body and use the Calamity Dragon’s power to help them escape.

The only problem was that if the Calamity Dragon seized Night Frost’s body, they’d lose all hope of turning things around.

And right now, it seemed they had no choice but to rely on the Calamity Dragon’s power.

“Li Dogegg… do you want to regain your strength?”

Eye Orb looked toward Night Frost and asked.

Li Dogegg was currently inside Night Frost’s familiar space, so it heard every word clearly. However, its soul was nowhere near strong enough to deal with Night Frost’s powerful soul.

It would be regaining its strength, but only temporarily.

As soon as Night Frost drove its soul out again, it would be forced back into that incredibly weak body.

But… what choice did it have, after signing a familiar contract with Night Frost?

If Night Frost died, it would die too.

The contract affected their souls. It wasn’t merely Li Dogegg’s body that would perish.

It had no choice.

So it left the familiar space and came to rest beside Night Frost’s heart. Its frail, deep-blue claws stretched out.

Its soul returned once more to the depths of Night Frost’s soul, where it felt its own heart beating.

“Lend me your soul’s place.”

As it spoke, a massive soul emerged from that tiny body.

The enormous soul occupied more than half of Night Frost’s mental space in one rush.

Of course, Night Frost refused to surrender her soul’s space completely. She feared the Calamity Dragon might use her body to revive itself.

In truth, the Calamity Dragon had the same idea.

But Night Frost was far too cautious. It couldn’t find even the slightest opening.

Night Frost opened her eyes.

Through the frigid seawater, her dark-golden eyes gazed toward the three suns in the sky.

Scales climbed upward from her calves. Black scales covered her entire body.

Eye Orb stared at the scene.

Memories from several months ago resurfaced in its mind.

Night Frost, her entire body covered in scales, spread her wings. Her black wings blotted out the sky and the sun.

Black Flame, the symbol of calamity, floated beside her.

An arrogant, invincible aura surrounded her, making others submit without realizing it.

Scales covered her snow-white feet. Her hands transformed into sharp claws.

The scales replaced her Magic Armor and spread outward, becoming sturdy armor.

Night Frost slowly rose to her feet.

She glanced at the wounds on her body and at the plants greedily draining her Mana despite the flames.

She let out a cold snort.

Black flames surged across the area and expanded outward. The seawater around her evaporated in an instant.

So did the foreign matter beneath Night Frost’s skin and the plants surrounding her.

Night Frost used the heart differently from the Calamity Dragon.

She used Mana to drive the heart’s power and ignite Black Flame.

That was why, once her blood vessels became blocked, she struggled to control the flames.

The Calamity Dragon was different.

It could directly draw upon the power within the heart and create even stronger Black Flame.

At the same level, the Calamity Dragon was clearly stronger than other Magic Maidens.

No wonder the Calamity Dragon had held its own against six members of Chapter Three for so long in the film.

Its scales were also incredibly hard, far tougher than Night Frost’s Magic Layer.

The plants’ piercing attacks and water cannons were no threat at all.

With Black Flame’s output added in, Night Frost was now a humanoid artillery tower.

And this was the Calamity Dragon in an incomplete state.

It was difficult to imagine what enemy could possibly match it in a one-on-one battle after it reached Chapter Three.

The plants before them were incredibly weak against Black Flame.

A light burn was enough to turn them into ashes scattered across the ground.

Night Frost narrowed her dark-golden eyes.

She hadn’t been able to see clearly while inside Li Dogegg’s body. With Night Frost’s body, however, she could locate some of their roots.

So she snapped her fingers.

Flames spread along the vegetation, drowning out the noise around her.

Night Frost landed before one section of the plants and reached out with her scaled claw.

She twisted her waist and pulled with all her strength.

In an instant, she tore the entire mass of plants from the earth…

No, she snapped them apart.

If she couldn’t pull this one out, she would simply try another.

There were so many plants here. Surely there were enough for her to yank out.

She found another vine.

But the moment she landed beside it, the vine went limp and dropped to the ground.

It had cut off its own tail to survive.

It seemed this creature wasn’t completely unreasonable.

It also seemed that she wouldn’t be able to uproot them all today.

At that moment, the Calamity Dragon’s power erupted from within Night Frost without restraint.

It fully drew out the power of the black flames.

This was not something those weak nuisances could compare with.

The flames cleared away every plant nearby.

The gray-brown soil was burned black and brown by Black Flame, and the dark smoke continued to burn.

After dealing with the surrounding plants, Li Dogegg voluntarily gave up control of Night Frost’s body.

It didn’t want to fight Night Frost again.

When it came to souls, it had already lost any chance of winning.

It returned to Li Dogegg’s body and shook its stiff wings.

Then it crawled out of Night Frost’s familiar space.

With the Calamity Dragon’s soul gone, the scales covering Night Frost’s body withdrew into her flesh.

Her Magic Armor faded away, leaving her naked body completely immersed in the seawater.

The ocean churned and rolled Night Frost’s body along.

No one knew where it intended to carry them.

Li Dogegg couldn’t stand Night Frost’s sluggishness any longer. While she was still unconscious, it slapped her hard twice.

Those two slaps woke Night Frost.

Her scarlet-gold eyes held a trace of confusion as she looked around.

For a moment, she had no idea which damned fool had slapped her twice.

Li Dogegg was right beside her.

There was no need to guess who had done it.

Night Frost gave it a sharp look, but she didn’t strike back.

After all, Li Dogegg had been a great contributor today.

“Phew…”

Night Frost examined the inside of her body.

The substance blocking her Mana had been completely burned away.

She could use Mana again.

In an instant, she donned her Magic Armor and stabilized herself against the ocean’s current.

Eye Orb and Li Dogegg were nearby, so Night Frost didn’t need to worry about them.

The third sun sank.

The seawater receded, and Night Frost’s group landed on the ground.

The surroundings were still a forest almost identical to the previous one.

But this time, Night Frost had barely taken a few steps before she saw a vast plain.

They seemed to have escaped by accident.

The second sun still hung in the sky.

Perhaps they had left the forest’s territory.

Or perhaps the plants had stopped appearing after witnessing Night Frost’s power.

The grass nearby was somewhat yellow and withered.

That was only natural. With so many suns scorching it, it would be strange if the land weren’t thirsty.

The forest floor had remained permanently wet after being soaked by seawater.

This place was different.

It seemed the ocean had never reached here.

The earth was incredibly dry.

“Looks like we’ve left the forest.”

Night Frost looked at Eye Orb and Li Dogegg, whose faces were filled with exhaustion.

At last, a hint of relief softened their expressions.

Night Frost found a relatively cool spot at the border between the forest and the grassland.

She crouched down and sat there.

The strange ocean, the bizarre forest, and the unknown suns…

Everything from this Myth was impossible to understand.

Just surviving here had already pushed them to their limits.

Fortunately, they had made it out.

They were temporarily safe.

Li Dogegg gnawed on a slice of meat.

Night Frost had given it the food as a reward, but it pretended to look down on such a thing.

She had no choice but to take the delicious dried meat back.

But just as Night Frost was about to put it away, Li Dogegg snatched the slices from her hand and began devouring them.

Night Frost had seen right through the little creature.

It was clearly ravenous, yet it still insisted on maintaining its pride.

Perhaps that was simply the Calamity Dragon’s nature.

The sunlight pouring from the heavens had dimmed considerably.

After resting enough, Night Frost and the others planned to continue onward.

According to Li Dogegg, walking straight along the forest would eventually lead them to a city-state.

That was what it said, anyway.

Night Frost couldn’t find even the slightest sense of direction.

The grassland felt even larger than the forest.

Like the ocean, it stretched beyond the limits of sight.

It was just as lifeless, too.

The oppressive atmosphere made Night Frost feel slightly short of breath.

“Phew. Let’s go.”

After calming herself, Night Frost prepared to continue traveling.

However, Eye Orb suggested cutting down some trees here.

They might be able to build a simple carriage.

He happened to know the blueprint, while Night Frost happened to possess the ability to make it.

Night Frost seemed to understand.

She raised her palm, and light blades easily cut the nearby trees in half.

With the blueprint Eye Orb provided, she soon made wooden wheels.

Following the blueprint, she attached all four wheels.

Then she used mortise-and-tenon joints to stack broad wooden boards together, creating a simple carriage box.

That would be where they stayed while the carriage was moving.

“A carriage without horses? How is it supposed to move?”

Li Dogegg looked at the other two, bewildered.

Night Frost carved an Array Pattern on the carriage to propel it.

As long as Mana was input into the pattern, it would drive the two connecting rods between the wheels.

That allowed the carriage to move manually with only a small amount of Mana.

Beside that Array Pattern was another one.

This pattern could forcibly reinforce the two connecting rods and lock them in place.

That would allow them to brake suddenly.

Normally, manually activating the first pattern was enough to stop the carriage.

But as a precaution, Night Frost carved the second pattern as well.

“I think it’s a waste that you aren’t working in the automobile industry.”

Eye Orb then told her that he had taken the blueprint from Rouge Rabbit.

He knew almost nothing about this sort of thing and definitely couldn’t build it himself.

He could understand the blueprint, though.

They climbed into the carriage.

Night Frost sat in front, while Eye Orb and Li Dogegg sat beside her.

She embedded half of the plants’ Magic Stone into the carriage.

The Mana-powered vehicle slowly began to move.

It wasn’t traveling slowly.

The plain was also relatively smooth, with few bumps.

This carriage was perfect for crossing the grassland.

Eye Orb was responsible for operating the carriage while Night Frost rested.

Afterward, they would take turns.

Night Frost would drive, while Eye Orb continued his research.

This saved the Mana she would have spent transforming and traveling.

If danger appeared, Night Frost could also face the enemy in nearly peak condition.

It accomplished two things at once.

Li Dogegg thought the contraption was nothing special.

Needing outside assistance only proved that one’s own strength was lacking.

If its power were truly overwhelming, external tools would be useless.

With a single thought, it could cross thousands of miles in an instant.

With one raised hand, it could move mountains and fill seas.

Why would it need all these troublesome devices?

“Array Patterns… Array Patterns…”

The sight felt strangely familiar to Eye Orb.
