V. District Twelve, Where All Secrets Ar

After sharing the memories, Moon Owl got a call from Blade. He said they'd found Kaneko. After negotiating with the organization from the original world, they agreed to stay in the Twelfth District for the time being.

That same night, Blade sent Lu Shi out. She stole a silver cube from under Sun Xiao's pillow. The research team was now studying its origin and purpose.

On top of that, near the black market, Blade found Night Frost's old bargain-bin master—Moon Owl's grandfather. After a long round of coaxing, he returned to the Twelfth District to work for it again.

Those were both pretty good pieces of news.

The original world's organization shared some overlap with the Twelfth District's ideals. Cooperation wasn't impossible. If they could gain that organization's strength and support, the Twelfth District might become even stronger.

Meanwhile, Jin Yunan wanted to give the pure white girl a temporary name, but the girl refused.

"Call me Order. She was my template. I want to inherit her name."

Seeing how firm the girl was, Jin Yunan couldn't really refuse. And so the girl got a name.

Her name was Order.

Jin Yunan treated Order's wounds. Order didn't resist at all. Instead, she happily called Jin Yunan "Mama."

That made Jin Yunan overjoyed.

But that joy didn't last long. After receiving the memories, Jin Yunan carefully went through what Night Frost had shared, then fell into thought.

"So that's how it is. The Seeker towers symbolize the god's three eyes. They're the channels through which the god understands the outside world."

Jin Yunan murmured softly. She clearly knew some inside information about the god. Which made sense. She had followed Blood for so long. She was bound to have heard things.

The god's three eyes possessed terrifying power. They governed creation, observation of past and future, and the analysis and construction of magic. Back then, the god had not obtained those three eyes. Night Frost found it hard to imagine what would've happened if the god really had...

But now wasn't the time to crush her own confidence with thoughts like that. Since she'd been given another chance, there was no time to sigh and brood.

"Let's go. We're finding the three towers."

The Sixth District happened to house one of the Seeker towers. The other two stood in the Eighth District and District Twenty One. This place held one of the Seeker's three pillars: Hrubess, the Eye of Analysis.

The Seeker tower stood tall. It wasn't as towering or awe-inspiring as the Order Keeper's central tower, but it showed its charm in another way.

The Seeker tower was like a lighthouse that never went dark, guiding lost travelers through the dark. It wasn't especially huge, but every brick carried a yearning for the unknown, a spirit of exploration. This tower had witnessed countless challenges and attempts. It had recorded every brave climb, every act of surpassing.

Compared to the Order Keeper's central tower, the Seeker tower might have lacked that overwhelming grandeur and solemnity. But what it possessed was a purer, deeper kind of strength. A strength born from curiosity toward the unknown. From longing. From the tireless pursuit of truth.

But... that was only the original intent behind its construction.

The first generation of the Seeker's three pillars had all grown old. A new generation took over. Each of them harbored their own schemes, chasing the power hidden within the unknown power of the gods.

Who could've thought the second generation of the three pillars would stray so far?

Maybe the first generation had meant well. But they clearly couldn't see through the human heart. Of the three they chose for the next generation, one was full of resentment. One sought knowledge, but was a two-faced coward. And one had gone completely mad over the gods, willing to stand on the opposite side of the world itself.

Night Frost placed her palm on the Seeker tower's gate. Black flames spread soundlessly, corroding the defensive Formation around the tower bit by bit.

Order tilted her head and looked at Night Frost in confusion. She was very curious what exactly Night Frost's Black Flame was. Why could it burn basically anything?

"Trade secret~"

After burning a hole through the Seeker tower, Night Frost ignored the blaring alarms overhead and swaggered straight inside.

Hrubess heard the alarm and rushed over at once. The moment she saw Night Frost's utterly brazen manner, anger flared in her heart.

"This is my territory! Don't you dare run wild here."

She casually laid down a Formation. Night Frost knew that Formation all too well. It was the trapped beast Formation mentioned in her father's notes, a Formation used to imprison an enemy and wear them down over time.

Night Frost was extremely familiar with it. She broke it apart with a casual move, then drew the Crimson Gold Lance and thrust it at Hrubess's brow.

When Hrubess saw Night Frost dismantle the Formation so effortlessly, her pupils shrank. The shock in her heart surged like a flood she couldn't suppress.

She had thought the trapped beast Formation would at least hold Night Frost back for a while. But she never imagined Night Frost would know it this well, or break it so easily, as if she'd long since mastered the entire thing by heart.

Faced with the Crimson Gold Lance flashing toward her like lightning, Hrubess knew things had gone bad. But it was already too late to dodge. She could only push her power to the limit and try to condense layer after layer of shields to block the fatal strike.

"Who exactly are you?!"

Night Frost didn't answer. She pierced through the shields one after another and closed in on Hrubess.

Hrubess's magic really opened Night Frost's eyes. With such a short reaction window, she still managed this much. If it had been anyone else, their head probably would've been gone already.

"Don't push me!"

Hrubess kept retreating. There was now a clear trace of fear in her eyes.

"Fine. Hand over the Eye of God, and I might spare your life."

The moment Hrubess heard that Night Frost was after the Eye of God, she practically sprang off the ground. No matter what, she said, she would never hand the Eye of God over to Night Frost. At her current stage, it was an incomparably important path for her pursuit of truth.

"You want the Eye of God, don't you?!"

Hrubess pressed her palms together. Layer after layer of Formations slowly appeared across the ground. At the same time, her lips moved in constant chant. No need to guess—she was drawing on the power of the Eye of God.

"By the gods' mercy, Magic Armor Sacrifice!"

The moment Hrubess spoke, the Seeker tower trembled. A massive Eye Orb smashed through the ceiling above her and landed steadily in her palms.

Night Frost was just about to stop her, when a cool voice sounded beside her. Order had raised a hand. Silver Mana swirled around her pure white Magic Armor.

"The person before me is forbidden from speech."

As soon as Order's words fell, Hrubess's upper and lower lips sealed tightly together. She tried to open her mouth, but an invisible force restrained her ability to speak. Even magic that let one speak from the abdomen couldn't be used.

Only one person could do something like this.

"Mmmph! Mmm—!"

Night Frost had no time to waste on nonsense. She drove the Spear straight through Hrubess's head, tore the Magic Stone from her body, and took the giant eyeball as well.

"First Eye Orb secured."

Eye Orb: ???

He was obviously the one who got here first. What did she mean, first Eye Orb secured?

Night Frost tossed the eyeball to Eye Orb. A genius and specialist like him would probably figure out what this eye was for soon enough.

Because of Night Frost's intrusion, the Seeker tower in the Sixth District fell into complete chaos. The Sixth District's Order Keepers rushed over after hearing the alarm. But by the time they arrived, Night Frost had already had Moon Owl take them through a spatial passage she'd marked in advance, slipping all the way to the Sixth District's main gate.

Judging by distance, the nearest districts were the Third, Fourth, and Fifth. Night Frost's next goal was recruitment: the president guarding the Third District, the current Magic Maiden there, and the Fourth District's guardian, who claimed absolute neutrality.

If she could gain the help of two Chapter Three powerhouses, things would become much easier.

"No. That's not right."

Night Frost should first go to the Second District and deal with Crimson and that heart. After getting Crimson's help, then she could go recruit the guardians of the Third and Fourth Districts.

But that heart possessed overwhelming power. It wasn't like that drop of Blood from before, something her Black Flame could easily burn away. That heart... Night Frost would probably have trouble even touching it.

"Without the power of Ultimate... how am I supposed to deal with that thing?"

When she came back to herself, Night Frost realized she had already disturbed too many timelines. At this point, Moon Owl should have advanced to Cantata Three. Crimson should soon have touched the Ultimate Realm. But now, Moon Owl was still only at Cantata Two.

At the moment, she herself seemed to be the strongest combat force.

Moon Owl and the others needed trials.

"Moon Owl, go to the Third District and persuade the president. Tell her about the future. Order and Aunt Jin, go hold the Fourth District. Also notify Blade to go on full alert. I think the timing's about right. Has Yuan Dai returned yet?"

Night Frost looked at Moon Owl. Moon Owl nodded. Yuan Dai had already completed the certification and was currently in the dojo. Lu Jin and Lu Shi were dealing with a suddenly appearing swarm of black insects. Dawnlight and Zhao Qingsnow were gathering the Magic Maidens in the Twelfth District who had contracted Monsters.

Just like the gears of history, an Abyssal Rift was torn open above the skies of the Twelfth District.

Yet unlike history, there was no rolling mass of insects in the air. There was only a gigantic chimera, standing firmly before the giant that Yuan Dai had become.

The Magic Maidens gathered together, the ones contracted with Monsters, all fell into chaos under the influence of the Monsters' consciousness. They began resisting, trying to break free from the Twelfth District's control. Some Monsters even killed their own contractors, cast aside their lovely human forms, and turned into horrifying beasts.

Fortunately, the Twelfth District had prepared for this long ago. Those Monsters were trapped by a grand Formation, then killed by the district's troops equipped with Arcane Firearms and by the Magic Maidens fighting alongside them.

But something in the chain had gone wrong. It added a trace of uncertainty and difference to the course of history.

Beyond the borders of the twenty-four regions, a writhing worm slowly descended. It brought countless insects of all shapes with it, crawling across the barren land. The soil polluted by the swarm was spreading outward little by little.

But as it spread, something crisp and strange appeared beneath that soil. Surging mud seeped out from within and began spreading toward the Second District.

At that moment, Night Frost was still thinking as she advanced toward the Second District.
