A carriage is traveling along a path in the woods. On this quiet night, the sound of wheels and hooves can be distinctly heard. The driver is a young knight, his armor reflecting the silver moonlight.

"Arnold, how much longer until we reach Sparrow Town?"

A voice from inside the carriage, clear and crisp like silver bells and as transparent as a flowing stream, spoke.

"We're almost there, Your Holiness. Just through this forest."

The knight named Arnold replied.

"Alright." The girl inside the carriage ordered, "It's already late today. Once we arrive in town, we'll find an inn to rest and continue our journey in the morning."

Arnold frowned and hesitated.

Throughout this journey, he was filled with questions.

The Holy Lady was summoned by the Pope and should have immediately returned to Holy City. However, when they reached a fork in the road, she suddenly commanded Arnold to change direction.

It seemed completely impulsive.

"Pardon my impertinence, Your Holiness, but why do we have to come to this kind of place? There's a shorter route to return to Holy City." Finally, Arnold couldn't help but ask.

"We're not going back to Holy City for now. I don't want to see the boring face of the Pope. Let him wait a few more days. As for why we're going to Sparrow Town... well, I heard there's a hot spring on the nearby mountain that's good for the skin!"

A hot spring?

Never heard of it.

Arnold shook his head and let out a sigh. As a follower, he had grown accustomed to the whimsical and unconventional behavior of the Holy Lady.

"So, is that the reason for your detour? Forgive me for speaking frankly, but even if you don't like the Pope, you should at least show some respect..."

"You're such a boring man, Arnold." The girl grumbled with some dissatisfaction, "It's because you're always so serious that you still can't find a wife..."

Before she finished speaking, a gust of wind suddenly blew.

The trees rustled.

The thick flannel curtains of the carriage were lifted slightly by the wind, revealing a crack.

Moonlight spilled into the dark carriage, illuminating the girl's black hair and her pure white robe. This attire was proper and solemn, even a bit rigid, but it couldn't conceal the rebellious light in her eyes.

Her eyes were a clear, violet color.

Like gemstones that shimmered in the dark.

...

The next morning.

Lorne carefully covered the entrance of the Dungeon with stones, branches, and weeds. Then he stepped back and examined it from various angles.

"Hmm, can't tell at all."

He nodded in satisfaction. The entire entrance had seamlessly blended into the surrounding rocks and weeds. If one didn't know beforehand, they would never be able to find it.

But such camouflage could only deceive ordinary people and not experienced adventurers.

Just like the group of people from yesterday.

Judging from their equipment, these people were also seasoned. In a mature adventurer party, there would often be rogues, hunters, or mages who possessed some investigative skills to find hidden dungeon entrances.

Lorne was powerless against this.

"I hope Helena and Aze won't get into trouble while I'm away." He still felt a bit worried, "Their fighting abilities are even weaker than mine, so if another wave of adventurers comes..."

However, the chances of that were very low.

To be targeted by burglars two days in a row?

That would be too coincidental!

Novels wouldn't even randomly come up with something like that!

But it's better to be safe than sorry. So before going out, he had already dug holes and buried Helena and Aze. Even if someone did break in, they wouldn't easily find them.

He also gained 4 Evil Points in the process.

Actually, Lorne wasn't someone who enjoyed going out and wandering around, but he had no choice. There was still a zombie and a skeleton to take care of at home.

To live, he had to go out and earn money, go shopping. This world didn't have online part-time jobs, nor did it have deliverymen or takeout guys.

"Now... where should I go to find work today?"Lorne pondered for a moment.

He had two options. One was a village to the north, which was relatively close and could be reached on foot in about an hour after descending the mountain. The other was "Sparrow Town" to the west, which was a bit farther but offered more job opportunities.

"Let's go to Sparrow Town."

Lorne made his decision quickly.

For finding a job, it would be best to go to the tavern in Sparrow Town.

The first floor of the tavern was a place for drinking and dining, while the second floor provided accommodation for travelers and merchants. There was also a notice board in the hall. If there were any job vacancies, they would be posted there.

When Lorne arrived, it was close to noon.

A group of idle onlookers had gathered outside the tavern.

"What's going on? Is there a fight?"

Curious, Lorne squeezed into the crowd and looked around. Inside the tavern, chaos reigned, with tables and chairs in disarray and beer and food spilled everywhere. Four people were lying on the floor, clearly having been beaten up badly.

"That's right, a fight!" an intoxicated old man said excitedly. "One against four, it was quite a spectacle! Unfortunately, you arrived too late, the fight has long ended..."

"Okay."

Lorne shrugged. A brawl in a tavern was nothing unusual, especially in this rough neighborhood. To some extent, it was considered commonplace.

He squinted his eyes and carefully examined the four people lying on the floor.

Wait a minute.

Aren't they...the adventurers who raided my house yesterday? They've been beaten up so badly that I didn't recognize them at first...

Lorne was astonished.

What was that old man saying just now, "one against four"? Someone had single-handedly defeated four experienced adventurers? Holy shit, turns out there's someone so brave in town!

Although he didn't know who this person was, seeing those adventurers battered and bruised, Lorne felt a sense of satisfaction.

What goes around comes around!

"It's their own fault for not knowing any better." The old man burped and continued, "That knight and the girl, they looked like important figures in the church. They had the 'Holy Star' symbol on them..."

"People from the church?" Lorne frowned.

If there was anyone more detestable than adventurers, it was undoubtedly the people from the church.

In the eyes of those self-righteous individuals, undead creatures like Helena and Aze were evil and needed to be purified.

Moreover, a few high-ranking clergy in the church even possessed the power to completely annihilate "higher-level demons." If they were to eliminate him, there would be no chance of respawning! It would be a real death!

But then again...

Why would important figures from the church come to such a remote town? Are they looking for my Dungeon, looking for me?

...That's impossible. Hahaha.

Lorne was self-aware about this. He knew that in the eyes of the church, his F-rank Dungeon was not even worth mentioning, practically non-existent.

Regardless, it would be best to stay away from them if possible.

"So, it was a clash with the church's holy knight. No wonder those people got beaten so badly." Lorne said.

The old man burst into laughter and slapped Lorne's shoulder forcefully.

"Hahaha, you're clueless about this, young man! It wasn't the holy knight who fought, but that seemingly delicate girl!

"Tsk tsk. I've been drinking at this tavern for twenty years, and I've witnessed countless brawls. But let me tell you, this girl who can fight like that, it's the first time I've seen it!"

A girl?

Lorne broke out in a cold sweat.

A holy knight and a violent nun?

Tsk, sounds more and more troublesome! If they were to discover my identity as a "higher-level demon" if we bumped into each other on the street, that would be awful...

No, no, I can't stay here for too long.

It's better to hurry back and lay low at home for a few days, avoid attracting attention.

To live a long life, one must know when to be a coward.

Yeah!

With that in mind, Lorne made the firm decision to leave. But before he left, he took another look at the four unfortunate adventurers lying on the tavern floor.Once upon a time, the things that were stolen from me yesterday should be on them. Should I go over and demand them back? But I couldn't do it in front of everyone's eyes... After much consideration, Lorne decided to give up and left with a heart full of pain. It felt like losing a fortune...

On the desolate hills to the east of Sparrow Town, the knight Arnold and the girl he referred to as "Lady Saint" were navigating through rugged rocks. The carriage couldn't move in this kind of terrain, so they decided to proceed on foot.

"Lady Saint, I asked the innkeeper in town and he said there's no hot spring around here," Arnold said, suddenly stopping in his tracks.

"Oh? It seems I remembered wrong then," the girl replied nonchalantly.

"Your real purpose is actually this 'Dungeon' on this mountain, right?" Arnold's eyes showed a hint of sharpness. "You intentionally provoked those adventurers to inquire about the exact location of the Dungeon..."

"Oh dear, you saw through me," the girl stuck out her tongue.

"What do you really want to do?" Arnold continued to question.

"It's a rare opportunity, so let's go explore it. I've never been in a Dungeon before, so you have to accompany me!" she said.

"Dungeons are not tourist attractions," Arnold sighed. "Since we're here, we might as well clear out the monsters and eliminate the 'Higher Demon Race' Lord hiding in the Dungeon... According to those adventurers, this Dungeon is only an F-level, so it shouldn't be too dangerous."

Suddenly, the girl lifted the corners of her mouth, her eyes filled with an unfathomable meaning. "That's not necessarily true, Arnold. That Dungeon might not be as simple as it seems... Maybe, you'll die today."

Hearing this, a chill ran through Arnold's heart. He always felt that the Lady Saint was still hiding something... and she was wary of him. Maybe I should report to the Pope. There are ravens at the Sparrow Town station, and with a few silver coins, I can send a letter to the Holy City. Of course, I can't let the Lady Saint notice.

"What are you daydreaming about, Arnold? Hurry up and come on!" the girl urged, continuing forward without a care.

Arnold could only follow.

"By the way... Were you a bit too excited in the tavern earlier? Just a few questions shouldn't have caused those adventurers to pass out, right?"

"They have dirty mouths," the girl pouted, her tone filled with displeasure. "And when I was asking them questions, one of them looked at me in a really lewd way."

"But you represent the entire church as the 'Lady Saint'! Such rude behavior is truly beneath your dignity. Even if you were really angry, you shouldn't have taken matters into your own hands. I can handle it..." Arnold said.

"Hmph, if I didn't personally teach those foolish adventurers a lesson, how would I vent my anger?"

The girl confidently responded.

"Besides, that Dungeon is my prey. They shouldn't have meddled... In the end, they got what they deserved."
