Countless flashes of light from colliding energies streaked across the sky. Strangely, not a sound could be heard, yet the shockwaves still sent countless demons trembling.

It wasn’t that the collisions made no sound. The force behind them was simply so great that it shook space itself, swallowing every sound that spread into the surrounding void!

Five powerful beings who had once dominated their corners of the Abyss attacked all at once. Yet against Lucifer, who had already become a Sovereign, they still had no advantage. Under a relentless barrage of attacks, the six powerful Abyssal creatures were the ones being suppressed.

“Doomsday Gospel!”

The black Doomsday Judgment in Lucifer’s hand suddenly blazed with two dazzling beams of light. The space around them fractured like a mirror struck by a heavy blow, and all six powerful Abyssal creatures were sent flying. None of them died, but every one of them was gravely wounded.

“How is that possible?!” The Divine Guard Demon Lord stared in disbelief. Seeing Lucifer reach for her, she hurried to defend herself.

“Dark Moon Spirit: Tasno!”

A dark moon rose behind the Divine Guard Demon Lord. A massive black hand, traced with faint blue light, shot out from it and lunged viciously at Lucifer.

“Boom—!” The two forces collided, and Lucifer was actually knocked flying. She frowned, then froze for a moment as she looked at the shadow that had appeared behind the Divine Guard Demon Lord.

“Dark Moon Demon King! You’re still alive?” Lucifer was utterly astonished. The Dark Moon Demon King had originally been Bexia’s second-in-command among the Demon Kings. If strength were the only measure, then he was the one who truly deserved to be called the First Demon King.

But the Dark Moon Demon King had died long ago—or rather, he’d perished alongside a powerful enemy. Bexia later turned the last remnant of his power into the dark moon in the Abyss, honoring his achievements.

And yet, who could’ve guessed he hadn’t actually died?

“W-Who… are you?” The Dark Moon Demon King’s voice was incredibly hoarse. He wore battered black armor, and the ragged blue cape on his back fluttered despite the lack of wind, as if proclaiming the glory he’d once earned.

“You… know me?” the Dark Moon Demon King asked hoarsely. His red eyes turned to Lucifer, searching her face for an answer.

“So you’ve been revived!” Lucifer said gravely. But her brow furrowed even deeper. The Dark Moon Demon King had blown himself up—there shouldn’t have been even a scrap of him left. How could someone like that possibly come back to life? It was hard not to be stunned.

“Revived…” The Dark Moon Demon King looked down at his hands. Cracks covered his gauntlets, and faint blue light seeped through them. Images from long ago flashed through his mind.

“I remember now. I’m the Dark Moon Demon King. I’m…” he murmured to himself. His memories kept returning. Though they were only broken, fragmented images, someone of his power could still piece most of them together.

“Dark Moon!” A voice came from inside the palace. The Dark Moon Demon King’s body shuddered at the sound, and he answered in an even hoarser voice, “M-My… Lord!”

“Bring her here!” Bexia’s voice rang out again. The Divine Guard Demon Lord, standing in front of the Dark Moon Demon King, stiffened. She even felt an urge to run. After all, she and the Dark Moon Demon King were bound by an equal contract. If he attacked her, she’d have no way to fight back.

And what frustrated her most was that after fighting for so long, her strongest ally had turned out to be someone who’d once served the very person pulling the strings. Who could she even complain to about that?

“…I’m sorry, my lord. She’s someone I need to protect now.” The Dark Moon Demon King’s answer was unexpected. He’d chosen the one response no one would’ve thought possible.

“You really haven’t changed. That’s what I admire most about you. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have spent so much time bringing you back to life.” Bexia’s tone suddenly shifted. “Tasno!”

As the words fell, a colossal hand reached out from the palace and seized both the Divine Guard Demon Lord and the Dark Moon Demon King.

“Waaah!” The Divine Guard Demon Lord went pale. She looked at the Dark Moon Demon King, who remained perfectly calm, and cried, “Why aren’t you doing anything?”

“Before my lord, any resistance is futile,” Tasno replied calmly. The Divine Guard Demon Lord froze. By the time she came to her senses, they were already inside the palace.

“My lord!” The Dark Moon Demon King looked at Bexia, seated on the throne. His eyes shone with excitement, though he didn’t let much of it show.

“You may rise.” Bexia waved a hand, then turned her gaze to the Divine Guard Demon Lord. That utterly unabashed scrutiny made her feel like she was sitting on pins and needles.

“Your disguise is quite interesting.”

“I-I don’t know what you’re talking about.” The moment the Divine Guard Demon Lord finished speaking, a flash of light fell from Bexia’s hand. Her body rippled like water. The tall, voluptuous figure she’d worn transformed into a little thing that didn’t even reach the Dark Moon Demon King’s chest. The two horns on her head became a pair of small, wing-like flaps.

Even her aura weakened considerably. Before, it had been close to that of a Sovereign God. Now, it was probably weaker than a Creator God’s.

“…!?” Even the Dark Moon Demon King behind her stared in shock, as if he’d had no idea this was what the so-called Divine Guard Demon Lord really looked like.

“W-What… what did you do to me?” The Divine Guard Demon Lord felt at her own body, frightened now that her disguise had been exposed. She instinctively shuffled backward, only to bump into the Dark Moon Demon King’s armor.

She’d felt a little safer at first, but then she remembered that the Dark Moon Demon King seemed to be on their side too. She quickly edged forward again. Nowhere felt safe!

This place is so scary (๑ó﹏ò๑)!

I wanna go home!
