Bexia’s breakthrough was an awe-inspiring spectacle. After all, he was not only breaking through to the level of an Immortal God—he was also the Abyss’s ruler. The moment he broke through, the Abyss resonated with him. Endless energy gathered from every direction, stirring up a massive energy storm across the entire Sea of the Abyss.
“What is this…?”
Countless eyes turned toward the Sea of the Abyss, especially toward the energy pouring into it, being continuously sucked away like water spiraling down a vortex.
The energy was so dense and overwhelming that even the powerful couldn’t see what was happening inside. All they could do was guess.
“Could some kind of treasure be appearing?”
The same thought sprang into the minds of countless demons. They couldn’t see what was happening inside, so they never considered that someone might be breaking through. Besides, they’d never seen a breakthrough on this scale. In fact, the Abyss had probably never witnessed anything so spectacular in all its history.
Even if they knew some earth-shattering treasure might have appeared in the Sea of the Abyss, the dense energy packed above it was terrifyingly thick. Any demon who drew near could feel the crushing force. One wrong move, and they might be squeezed into a cloud of blood, without even a chance to regenerate.
They’d been crushed to pieces—right down to their souls!
Wait!
The only thing they could do now was wait!
Wait for the energy tide in the sky to recede.
As time passed, the energy tide began to weaken. Countless demons cautiously started moving closer, bit by bit. At last, a few exceptionally gifted demons caught sight of the source of all the upheaval: a ruined city rising from the water, and the imposing palace within it.
Many demons didn’t recognize the palace, but among the older generation, there wasn’t a demon who didn’t know it. Some had even served under Bexia himself, and every one of them stared at the palace rising from the water in shock.
“Is that an ancient ruin?” Many demons gazed at the enormous city, even more convinced that some treasure had appeared. Some, unable to hold back any longer and confident in their own strength, hurried toward it.
But what happened next left them utterly shaken. A phantom rose from the palace. Even with only half a body, it was so immense that it seemed to reach from the heavens to the earth. Its gaze swept casually over the demons, yet they all felt as if they were walking along the edge of death. It seemed that if its eyes rested on them for even an instant, they’d be erased from existence.
“How terrifying…!” Countless demons began to have second thoughts. Just one look had made them feel death breathing down their necks. With a being like that here, how could they possibly afford to get involved?
“Get out!” The enormous phantom roared. A terrifying storm swept across the Sea of the Abyss, and a violent shockwave surged outward. Every demon above the sea and beneath the sky’s dome was blasted away. Even below the surface, they could feel the terrible pressure.
Countless sea beasts trembled in fear. All they could do was sink as deep as possible to resist the overwhelming force.
But the next moment, an enormous black-furred claw tore through the air. A cat’s head the size of a planet emerged behind it, its sapphire-blue eyes flashing with bloodlust and its bone-white fangs gleaming coldly.
“What is that…!?”
“The Sacred Dominion Demon Lord’s mount—the Eight-Tailed Midnight Cat Demon!”
“Run! Fall back, now!”
The enormous black claw came down, swiping viciously at the phantom.
“How dare you!” A furious shout rang out. A streak of black sword light slashed across the sky and collided with the black cat’s claw.
“Mrowww—!”
The Eight-Tailed Cat Demon cried out in pain. A trace of blood appeared, and one of its sharp claws snapped in two.
“Who are you?!” A figure appeared above the Eight-Tailed Cat Demon’s head, so tiny she was almost impossible to make out—though that was only because of the cat demon’s enormous size.
“Lucifer, the first Demon King under the Demon Lord!” Wielding Doomsday Judgment, Lucifer stared down the Sacred Dominion Demon Lord. In terms of raw power, Lucifer had an absolute advantage.
“And who are you?” Lucifer didn’t remember anyone like this among Bexia’s subordinates. The tall woman before her looked almost exactly like a human, apart from a pair of backward-curving demon horns.
After all, she was powerful—and could even command an Abyssal beast of this size!
“They call me the Sacred Dominion Demon Lord, but I prefer it when they call me the Goddess of the Dark Moon.” The Sacred Dominion Demon Lord spoke calmly.
“Insolence! There can only ever be one Demon Lord in the Abyss!” Lucifer shouted and suddenly appeared in front of the Sacred Dominion Demon Lord, swinging Doomsday Judgment down without mercy!
“!!!” The Sacred Dominion Demon Lord was startled, but then an eerie smile spread across her face. As Lucifer’s sword came down, her body went “poof!” and turned into a stuffed doll.
“Attack!” The Sacred Dominion Demon Lord appeared far away, hundreds of thousands of meters off, and waved her staff. Several figures rushed toward Lucifer from every direction.
A streak of white light.
A streak of blue light.
A streak of red light.
A streak of green light.
A streak of yellow light.
And the shrunken Eight-Tailed Cat Demon, transformed into a streak of black light!
“The Sacred Dominion Demon Lord actually summoned the Lightning Eel King, the Ice Crystal Giant, the Flame King, the Hurricane Kamaitachi, the Mud Troll, and the Eight-Tailed Midnight Cat Demon all at once!!!” Countless demons were aghast. These six Abyssal creatures had each once ruled their own territory in the Abyss, and every one of them was terrifyingly powerful. Seeing all six appear together to face an enemy was almost unheard of!
