“Rumble—!”
Countless towering columns of water erupted across the lake where the Chaotic Space-Time Zone lay. Cracks kept appearing on its mirror-smooth surface, while pillars of energy rose from below. Beneath each one, a world on the verge of shattering could be seen!
“What’s going on?” The demon legions stationed outside the Chaotic Zone all looked up. They had no idea why such terrifying power had suddenly erupted from this place.
“Let’s go take a look!” Several demon legion commanders exchanged glances and immediately flew inside. But they’d barely made it a short distance before they came scrambling back out. “Report this to the Demon King at once! Tell them something unusual is happening in the Chaotic Zone!”
“Yes, sir!” The demon messenger immediately responded. He belonged to a special demon species with incredible speed. When going all out, he could easily outrun demons of the same rank, though he was rather average in other respects. That was why many demons liked to use his kind as messengers.
“Pfft—!” But the moment he’d spoken, before his words had even faded, the demon legion commander’s head suddenly flew off, spraying purple blood everywhere!
“What?” The other demon legion commanders’ pupils contracted. They’d barely managed to get the word out when a powerful force surged up from below. A colossal black hand, vast as a world, grabbed at them. In an instant, every demon legion commander was caught—and crushed to ash before they could even scream!
“Lucifer, you really didn’t have to go this far…” Bexia was at a loss for words at Lucifer’s grand display. He’d expected to simply pick a fight with the Demon King stationed here, kill them, and leave. That would’ve kept things low-key on their way to the Sea of the Abyss!
Who’d have thought Lucifer would make such a spectacle of things the moment she showed up? It wouldn’t derail his plans, but it had certainly made everything a lot more troublesome!
“Master, these are minor issues. I’ve already sealed off the space-time around us. Not a single demon will leave here alive today!” Lucifer gave a cold smile.
“When did you do that?” Bexia was surprised. He hadn’t sensed when Lucifer had sealed off the space around them at all!
“Master, don’t forget—I can wield ‘Control’…” Lucifer’s words made Bexia understand at once. She hadn’t truly sealed off the space around them. She’d taken control of it!
That authority really was overbearing. No wonder it had manifested with dozens of laws bound up in it!
Everything around them—space and energy alike—was under Lucifer’s control. The demons were all frozen in place as if under a binding spell. They couldn’t even blink. Only their thoughts could still move.
“Disperse!” Lucifer swept a hand through the air. The demons watched in terror as their bodies slowly began to vanish.
It was a terrible torment: watching yourself die bit by bit, powerless to stop it, until you finally perished in utter terror. Some demons couldn’t endure it. Their souls shattered before the end.
“Shadow Fiend’s Seven Slays!”
A low, icy voice rang out around them. It seemed to come from every direction, yet also from beyond another layer of space. Then seven shadows appeared from different angles in space, their short swords slicing toward Lucifer and Bexia.
Swish, swish, swish—
Seven streaks of black sword-light flashed by, as though painted across space. The seven jagged marks looked like ugly scars. Caught within them, Bexia and Lucifer hung frozen in midair.
“Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom—!”
The marks detonated one after another. The energy wasn’t just thrown into chaos—the spatial rifts created by the seven marks also drew out energy from the depths of space, unleashing immense destructive force.
“Shadow Fiend King, your Shadow Fiend’s Seven Slays have gotten even more refined!” A horned demon wreathed in purple lightning laughed as he watched the explosions.
“Of course. I’ve already touched the threshold of the Shadow Fiend’s Eight Slays!” A figure shrouded in black, like a living shadow, appeared beside the horned demon.
“Really?” The horned demon was taken aback, but a smile soon returned to his face. The Shadow Fiend might not be as strong as he was, but he excelled at assassination—especially with this Shadow Fiend technique. They said that at its highest level, even several mighty Demon Lords would find it a serious headache.
“Huh!?” The two Demon Kings’ expressions changed. They vanished from where they stood, but they were still a step too slow. A black longsword swept across their heads, taking both of them clean off.
“Boom! Boom—!”
At the Demon King level, losing their heads wasn’t enough to kill them. Both Demon Kings acted decisively: they detonated their heads and bodies together, using the blast to force their enemy back before quickly reassembling themselves!
“You came through my Shadow Fiend’s Seven Slays without a scratch?” The Shadow Fiend King stared at Lucifer, sword in hand, unable to hide his astonishment. Anyone below the Demon Lord level who took all seven strikes head-on couldn’t possibly emerge unharmed.
“Shadow Fiend King, be careful. She seems to have recovered!” the horned Demon King said with a frown.
“She was already at death’s door. How could she recover in such a short time? Thunderclap Demon King, if we join forces, what’s there to fear?” said the Shadow Fiend King.
“Let’s test her first. If anything seems off, retreat immediately!” Thunderclap Demon King watched Lucifer, who seemed to have fully recovered, and spoke cautiously.
“Thunderflash!”
“Shadow Chaos!”
The two Demon Kings attacked at once. One unleashed an endless torrent of black lightning, while the Shadow Fiend King split into countless afterimages that attacked Lucifer from every direction.
