The supply battleship kept making spatial jumps and traversing space. As a supply vessel, this enormous ship had little going for it besides its vast cargo hold and high speed.
After a full month, Bexia finally sensed the aura of the Abyss. As the Abyssal Demon Lord, he had left part of his power behind in the palace, but he could still feel a mysterious, special connection to the Abyss.
After the cargo ship made its final spatial jump, a vast continent appeared before them. Unlike a world, it had been transformed through tremendous power and did not fall within the bounds of any world.
It had once been nothing more than a giant celestial body floating through space. A powerful being had used their strength to anchor it in place, then reshaped it with formations into a habitable region.
This was a forward base where the human race fought against the Abyss. Part of humanity’s army was stationed here, and Bexia’s battleship had brought supplies for them.
As the cargo ship entered the forward base, Bexia found that it wasn’t the military camp he’d expected. It looked much like any other city. There were stationed troops, of course, but most of the people here were cultivators who had come to train. Over time, the place had taken on its current appearance.
The place also had a character all its own. Most noticeable was the heavy killing intent. Nearly everyone walking through the streets carried a thick aura of it. Some even had so much killing intent that it formed a field around them. Standing within one of those fields was enough to make your scalp crawl.
“Let’s find somewhere to stay first.” Bexia stepped down from the cargo ship and spoke to the two girls beside him. He was going to the Abyss next, and didn’t plan to take them with him.
After finding a random inn and settling in, Bexia entered the virtual network once more. The virtual-world connection device was only average, so he hadn’t been able to log in during the spatial jumps.
The moment he entered the virtual network this time, Bexia felt a peculiar gaze on him. He looked back toward that resentful gaze. They stared at each other for a few moments, then the girl’s eyes began to redden.
“Christine…” Bexia gazed at the girl before him, a strange feeling rising in his heart. With three epochs between them, even seeing Christine felt unreal.
Christine had missed Bexia even more. Ten years wasn’t a particularly long time for beings like them, but her longing had made every day feel like a year. It was as if they’d been worlds apart!
So the moment Christine heard news of Bexia, she’d been waiting here ever since.
A thousand thoughts became a single cry. “Master!” Christine threw herself into Bexia’s arms, tears streaming down her face. This world might have been virtual, but it couldn’t keep their feelings from being real!
“There, there. I’m back now, aren’t I?” Bexia patted Christine’s back and tried to comfort her, though it didn’t seem to help much.
Bexia lifted Christine’s little face in his hands and kissed her soft, pink lips. Her familiar presence intoxicated him. His arms tightened around her, as if he wanted to draw her into his body and make her a part of himself.
After kissing away Christine’s tears, Bexia held her as they sat together on a swing in the courtyard. He listened as she told him what had happened while he was gone.
After Bexia was swept into the flow of time, Mo Qingqin had taken the girls back to the Pangu Supercontinent. She’d also asked Mo Di to use divination to determine where he was. Once they learned that he was safe, they’d felt a little more at ease.
Conesy had been learning the power of technology from Luo Chen. Now, even the main cannon on her hull could threaten beings at the Creator God level. Christine’s own strength had also grown rapidly; she was now an Eternal-level deity.
“What about Lucifer?” Bexia asked.
“Sister Lucifer left after you disappeared, Master. She said she was going back to the Abyss to wait for you!” Christine replied.
“I see…” Bexia fell silent for a moment. Lucifer was the only one who knew about this. Christine and the others didn’t know what had happened before.
“Where are you now, Master? We’ll come find you!” Even though they’d met in this virtual world, Christine was still eager to find Bexia in the real world as soon as possible.
“I’m at a forward base on the Abyssal Front. You don’t need to come looking for me. Just wait for me to come back.” Bexia pinched Christine’s cheek and smiled.
“The Abyssal Front?!” Christine looked at Bexia. “What are you doing there, Master?”
“I’m the Abyssal Demon Lord! Of course I have to go back to the Abyss!” Bexia replied with a smile. Seeing the bewilderment on her face, he slowly began to tell her about the Abyss and what had happened after he was swept into the flow of time.
“Is that really true, Master?” When he’d finished, Christine stared at him in shock, her red lips parted. She couldn’t believe that the infamous, utterly wicked Abyssal Demon Lord from the rumors was her own master!
“Why would I lie to you?” Bexia lightly brushed Christine’s soft cheek.
“Then be careful, Master. We’ll wait for you on the Pangu Supercontinent!” Christine said with a smile.
“And, Master, would you like to see everyone? Should I call them all over?” Christine suggested.
“Sure!” Bexia had missed the others too.
“Then brace yourself, Master. Everyone’s changed a lot!” Christine sprang out of Bexia’s arms, smiled, and vanished before his eyes.
