Chapter 36: City of Greed
update icon Updated at 2026/1/2 22:00:02

The City of Original Sin is extremely huge, also divided into many small cities based on different categories of goods, existing in the form of cities within cities. Among the most famous are the original seven major inner cities, classified into seven categories: medicine, equipment, resources, slaves, underground black market, arena battles, and auction houses. Bexia's primary target is the underground black market among them: the City of Greed!

The City of Greed is where the entire City of Original Sin purchases foreign goods. The City is willing to take anything, regardless of its origin; here, the only rule is to ask for the price, not the source. Even if you stole an immortal artifact to sell, they would accept it.

Though the number of Immortal-class battleships is not large, it's not small either. The constant flow of traffic every day has made people numb, so Bexia's arrival did not attract much attention.

Although it's difficult to advance as an Immortal, compared to the vast cosmos, there are still quite a few Immortals!

"I'm not familiar with this place, so I need your help, Yue." Bexia said to Yue beside him.

"Since you're asking for my help, I'll reluctantly agree." Yue floated in mid-air, wondering if her flesh wings were real or just for show, as Bexia has never seen her flap them for flight.

Is this flesh wing just a decoration? Or is it meant for touching?

"What indecent thoughts are you having?" Yue sensed the gaze on her wings, frowned disapprovingly, and blushed a bit, remembering how Bexia had touched her before!

Ugh! This rascal, can he just touch the flesh wing like that?

≥﹏≤!

"I'm not thinking of anything, just feels like your flesh wing doesn't serve any purpose." Bexia retorted.

"What do you mean it's useless? This flesh wing has strong defensive and flight abilities, and in the shackles of the Immortals of the Blood Wolf clan, it is one more than you humans, so the Blood Wolf clan is far stronger than you humans!" Yue retorted loudly, underestimating her.

"That's not necessarily true!" Bexia shrugged. Humans may be physically weaker, but their huge numbers have allowed them to dominate most of the cosmos; humans are indeed the strongest!

"Tch." Yue didn't argue further but continued to fly ahead, as she knew that despite humans' weak physicality, they possess advantages that other races do not have, such as adaptability.

Countless eons ago, humans were extremely insignificant, perhaps regarded as mere animals in the eyes of the current populace back then; however, humans have the ability to learn, imitate, and combine various strengths for innovation. They may not possess the strongest power, but their unparalleled persistence and wisdom have propelled them from obscurity to dominating most of the cosmos.

Flying all the way with Bexia, they arrived at the City of Greed. The number of people coming and going was extremely high, but flying with battleships within the city limits was prohibited; one could only rely on their own abilities, smaller flying devices, or beasts for transportation.

"That's the City of Greed up ahead!" After a while, Yue pointed towards the huge black tower in front.

"It's massive!" Bexia looked at the enormous black tower ahead, giving him the feeling that it was as if continents were stacked together, supported by huge stone pillars, with over a hundred floors in succession, each separated by at least a million meters.

"This is just the surface, the real City of Greed is underground!" Yue said.

As an underground black market, the City of Greed naturally couldn't be represented by the surface, and most of the real parts were in the underground space.

The City of Greed consists of a total of 1,111 levels, with only 110 levels visible on the surface, and the remaining 1,001 levels, all underground. There is said to be one level built inside the void space, but very few people know the specifics.

However, Yue happened to know, or rather, the Andrews family knew, that this last level was built inside the void space, and only Eternal-level beings were entertained inside.

The 110 surface levels are only for ordinary people. In other words, only those above the Saint level are eligible to enter the underground black market, with Saints only allowed up to the first 500 levels, while the remaining 500 levels can only be entered by the Immortals.

"I'll take you in! Don't lose sight of me!" Yue turned to Bexia.

"No problem, I definitely won't lose sight of you!" Bexia smiled and reached out to pat Yue's head.

"Hey! Are you asking for trouble? I've told you many times, don't pat my head!" Yue bristled, his two fangs bared indicating his displeasure!

"Hehe! Honestly, I really consider agreeing to let Lian marry you and then properly train you!"

"Go to hell! You pervert! Even if I die, I won't marry you!" After hearing Bexia's words, Yue shouted at him, his face inexplicably flushing.

"Ah, ah, ah! Be careful what you say! There are so many people watching here," Bexia pointed at the audience drawn by her shouting. Many people passed by, and although not many were truly attracted, their gaze did turn towards them.

"Hmph!" Yue snorted coldly, turned his head and flew ahead alone, with Bexia following closely. This time, only the two of them came out, for reasons that were quite obvious.

Christine was currently practicing the powerful soul attack technique, the "Tai Xuan Sword," on the battleship because Bexia had obtained the soul attack skill from the Three-Eyed Monster last time.

Originally, Bexia planned to bring Conesy along with him, as his main purpose this time was to build Conesy's battleship body, but she was somehow left behind by the old steward.

As for the rest of the group, they were all immersed in the game. The only one who spoke was Luo Cailing, who hurriedly said to him, "Big brother, remember to bring back some food. The food in the City of Greed is especially delicious, Xian wants to eat it, not me!"

Who would believe you!

Luo Cailing even sent him a list via email, listing all the items she wanted. Looking at the long list of names, Bexia's mouth twitched! Moreover, Luo Cailing was afraid that Bexia wouldn't be able to find the places, so she even specified where each item could be bought, some even with multiple locations listed.

Bexia felt that he should take the two of them with him. From this list, it was clear that these two were probably quite familiar with Brophar.
