Chapter 19 Little Cat

After receiving some useful information from the hesitant and fearful Catman chieftain, Bexia decided to stay here for the night and prepare for the journey tomorrow.

At night, the Catman tribe held a bonfire party. They were not celebrating their survival after the disaster, but rather the corpses left behind during the day. Those corpses were food they never dared to dream of before!

Although there are members of the Orc tribe who are capable of hunting Abyssal Behemoths, that kind of strength is only possessed by the larger tribes. For smaller tribes like the Catmen, they have absolutely no power. The limitations of their natural born race rendered them too weak to even resist the Abyssal Behemoths.

The Catman tribe is completely dependent on the powerful Orc tribe and their protection in order to survive. Even so, their lives are extremely difficult. The fact that their entire stockpile of jerky was just a small glimpse into their destitute existence.

This kind of scenario is not uncommon among the Orc tribe. After all, there are countless races with low strength. And it's not just the Catmen.

For primitive societies, food is the most important aspect. While the deaths of their tribe members are mourned, having an abundance of food brings even greater joy. Besides, the deaths of tribe members can be quickly replenished due to the Catman tribe's reproductive abilities.

This might sound heartless, but this is how it is for primitive societies. They don't even have proper names, just like soldier ants in an anthill. They are merely tools for maintaining the survival of their race.

Bexia and her companions were treated as gods, with the best meat from the bonfire given to them, and fresh giant beast blood served for them to drink. However, Bexia and the others couldn't bring themselves to eat.

Lady Cloud disappeared without a trace, not knowing where she went. Christine left with two elves, probably thinking of some mischievous ideas. Only the "faithful" Conesy stood behind Bexia as her guardian. Bexia was the only one enjoying the Catmen's "offerings".

How can Bexia eat this? It's like eating raw meat and drinking the dark red giant beast blood. It's nauseating and he just can't eat it.

Bexia asked the Catmen around him to leave. He couldn't stand their servitude and couldn't eat this stuff. He only needed to pretend for a few minutes and then leave.

"Miao~!"

"Who?!" The alert Conesy turned his head to the source of the sound, and Bexia followed suit. It was the little Catman he saved during the day. After all, she was the only one in the entire Catman tribe who looked so cute.

"It's fine, let her come!" Bexia signaled to Conesy that everything was fine.

Besides, he was not weak himself. He could single-handedly sweep through the Catman tribe.

"Yes!" Conesy stepped back behind Bexia.

The little Catman, who was covering her head, secretly peeked through the gaps in her claws. Then, she nervously put her paws down and looked at Conesy with fear, then at Bexia who was smiling at her. She cautiously walked towards Bexia.

"Come here!" Bexia beckoned. Although she didn't have any discriminatory thoughts, the Catman tribe's entire attractiveness seemed to be concentrated in this little Catman.

"Meow~!" The little cat person glanced fearfully at Conesy, then quickly hid behind Bexia, placing something on the makeshift table with its chubby paws. Two small dried fish!

"Meow meow~!" The little cat person pushed the dried fish towards Bexia, but with obvious reluctance. Its paws hesitated for a moment before finally pushing the fish in front of Bexia. Although Bexia couldn't understand what the little cat person was saying, judging from its admiring expression, it was probably thanking Bexia for saving it earlier in the afternoon. As for these two small dried fish, considering what Bexia had observed about the cat people today, they must be quite valuable. And to be given these beloved dried fish by a kitty, how grateful can one be!

Besides, in the Saro wasteland, food was scarce. A group of cat people could already be overjoyed by a tough Abyssal giant's meat, let alone these dried fish that he had never seen before. Were there even fish in the wasteland? These must be valuable and scarce resources.

"Hehe!" Bexia chuckled. Although the little cat person's gratitude gift was a bit unconventional, it was sincere. Bexia reached out and petted its head.

"Meow meow meow~!" The little cat person made a cute meowing sound. It closed its eyes in contentment, even rubbing its head against Bexia's hand, just like a small pet cat.

"So adorable!" Bexia exclaimed. The little cat person was too endearing, and he couldn't help but pick it up and place it on his lap.

"Meow!" The little cat person was startled at first, but when it realized that the hand wasn't going to put it down, it gradually calmed down and obediently lay on Bexia's lap, allowing him to stroke its head. Its tail behind it wagged, expressing its mood.

"I remember there should be something in my spatial storage!" Bexia reached into the spatial storage and found a tin can. There was quite a bit of food stored inside, especially the hidden stash of the two little girls. He recalled that there were fish cans.

"Found it!" Bexia smiled and pulled out a can of fish from the spatial storage. It was a type of fish called golden stripe fish, which was very valuable and had a delicious taste. As soon as he opened it, a fragrant aroma spread out, causing even the little cat person's eyes to sparkle and drool to flow from the corners of its mouth. If it weren't for seeing Bexia holding it, it would have probably pounced on it.

Bexia found the smell delightful, let alone a fish-loving cat. Despite the fact that many cat people in the wasteland had never seen a fish, the genes engraved in their nature would never change. Cats naturally had an affinity for fish.

"Does the little one want to try it?" Bexia held the can in his hand and shook a piece of fish.

"Meow meow meow~!" The little cat person knew that Bexia was powerful and not someone to mess with, so it switched to the cat's special way of acting cute, rubbing its ears against Bexia's chest to express its friendliness.

"Here, have it!" Bexia looked at the adorable little cat person and handed her the piece of fish, but the little cat person seemed hesitant and didn't immediately take it.

"Come on! It's delicious." Seeing this, Bexia decided to feed it himself.

"Meow~!" The little cat person glanced at Bexia sneakily and, after seeing his expression, cautiously extended its little tongue to lick the fish. Its eyes immediately lit up with satisfaction.

The little cat person then secretly glanced at him again, seeing that Bexia showed no signs of disapproval, before extending its tongue to lick.

"Go ahead, it's all yours." Bexia let go of her hand, allowing the little cat person to bite on the piece of fish and placing the remaining can on her palm.

"Meow~!" The little cat person on the ground exclaimed in excitement, then made some incomprehensible meowing sounds towards Bexia, and ran off towards the other cat people with the can of food.
