Chapter 1 Nova

The morning sun on that day had just revealed fragmented sunlight, the enormous spatial hole opening above the clouds, visible to the residents on countless islands in the ocean and the migrating refugees from the Puo Island, not knowing the extent to which the war had escalated. Their homelands had long been destroyed; to them, it was the dragons who destroyed their homes. Faced with the dragon clan, what could they do? Among the refugees, rumors spread that the source of the calamity was the god clan; their concealment had attracted the dragon clan to destroy their island, ruining the ceremony.

Jiang Moana was alone, drinking to the sunrise because of her relationship with Li Yihé. She had her own independent suite with a balcony overlooking the sea. As the alcohol took effect, she couldn't help but think of her original home, the island city with a curfew. Although there was no curfew here, it was still a strange place. The sea below the balcony was still littered with debris flowing from Puo Island. The current state of Puo Island had long been exposed in the media: the huge crater filled with seawater engulfed one side of the island, submerging most of the land. The sight of ruins and debris was heart-wrenching. Since being chosen by Yihé as a successor, Moana had been practicing her singing voice daily. In times of low spirits, she subconsciously sang songs that reminded her of home. In that spatial hole, she seemed to feel someone going through life and death. The inexplicable sense of concern made her sing with a myriad of emotions, causing those nearby to inevitably show expressions of sadness at her powerful voice.

In an instant, a burst of power erupted, shaking The Human Realm uncontrollably. Who was fighting where? Who was giving her this sense of concern?...

A shooting star streaked across the sky, the fleeting sense of sadness and Moana's thoughts gradually touching each other along the beautiful arc. Her song became more and more poignant, spreading further and further for reasons unknown. The entire island was immersed in her singing, and the feeling of sadness burst forth like a flood.

The wind blew, the waves eroded the hearts of people, sighing at the brevity of life. The turbulent world seemed to offer no direction for them, as if the world itself was rejecting their feelings, despite the clear mountains and rivers.

The meteor in Moana's eyes gradually fell, bringing an uncomfortable feeling in her heart that could only be relieved by pouring it into her singing, silently praying to the shooting star.

"You sing beautifully!" A strange voice made her alert. She suddenly realized there was no one around, yet her body didn't respond as she continued to sing uncontrollably.

The speed at which the shooting star fell was astonishing, landing in front of Moana in less than a minute and rushing into her body.

"I need your help."

The unfamiliar voice was pleasant, beautiful and touching, yet on the verge of extinction. Jiang Moana didn't know who the voice belonged to, and perhaps she didn't want to know. She only heard the plea for help, and out of innate kindness, she agreed.

"Thank you!"

The energy released by the shooting star absorbed into Moana's body as if nothing had happened.

"Moana!" Li Yihé and Dong Ge entered the suite together, their expressions showing panic. When they saw Moana slowly turning around, a flash of light appeared on her forehead, resembling an imprint of a white snake.

"What happened?" When Jiang Moana turned around, everything was intact, even the shooting star that had just fallen, leaving no crater.

"Are you okay? We saw a meteor fall here!" Li Yihé, who had lived much longer than Moana and Dong Ge, naturally wasn't quick to dismiss her curiosity, especially since she wasn't the only one who witnessed all this.

"Do you think I look like someone in trouble right now?" Jiang Moana left the balcony and turned to the kitchen; she needed something to sober up.

"Boss, it seems like she's really just fine."

"East, do you think it's normal to be unharmed?"

"Well... I guess, being unharmed is the weirdest thing."

The two entered the suite, discussing while closely monitoring every move of Jiang Moana.

"If someone can be struck by a meteor and remain unscathed, that must be a powerful Magic practitioner. But we both know the extent of Moana's Magic abilities," Li Yihe thought more and more uncomfortably, this situation made no sense at all.

"Could it be that it actually hit the adjacent room?"

"If something got hit, there should be a sound, but even the fire alarm hasn't gone off."

As a seasoned artist of a century, Li Yihe was very competent in handling public relations. He arranged for people to deal with the media reporters who arrived after hearing the news without delay. If there were no disasters on the entire floor at the moment, there would be no commotion. And at this moment, the entire floor was quiet; hence, it could be inferred that the meteor did not deviate but hit this room.

"Sis Yihe, do you need some wine?" Jiang Moana picked up her half-full bottle of wine, deciding to finish it since it was already opened.

"No, didn't you see the meteor just now?"

"Yes, while I was making a wish on the shooting star, another one came straight at me, it was so miraculous!"

"And then?"

"And then I found this." Jiang Moana held up a stone in her hand, indeed resembling a meteorite, but it was perplexing how she could hold it in her hand.

"Don't try to fool me, did you not learn basic physics in junior high? How could you hold something that hot due to air friction?"

East was indeed not dumb; otherwise, how could he deceive a young girl emotionally.

"In the Magic era, nothing is impossible."

Li Yihe and East instantly understood. In their view, what streaked across the sky might not necessarily be a meteor; it could be something they did not understand, just like the huge hole created by the spatial Magic above, clearly facing The Divine Realm. The identities of those who shuttled between the realm of gods and humans were unknown to them, and the results of the battles were unclear. This meteor-like object was very likely a remnant of that battle. There was another thing that worried them: whether this stone was good or bad for Moana.

"Moana, can you lend it to Sis Yihe for a few days?" Moana thought for a moment, then said, "Okay! But remember to give it back! This could very well bring me good luck!"

"Your singing was beautiful today, keep it up."

After Yihe took the stone and left a few words, she and Cui Dong departed.

After closing the door, Moana, who had been wearing a faint smile on her face all this time, suddenly lost it. She once poured out wine, walked to the edge of the balcony, at this moment, she again looked at the huge space hole in the sky as it slowly closed shut. Flashes of images passed before her eyes, those images that did not belong to her; a white giant dragon, a person in golden armor, a chubby person shrouded in flames, and a ruthless figure, all showed something completely different in her eyes, a kind of charm.

At last, when she saw the person unharmed, she felt somewhat happy. But an inexplicable sense of sadness appeared on that unfamiliar ruthless figure. However, she couldn't stop her joy, which concealed the sadness on her face.

Back in her room, Li Yihe propped up her long legs and stared at the rock in front of her, a white semi-transparent object, believing for now that it was a stone.

Cui Dong was also looking at it, and a word popped into his mind: "Could this be some kind of relic?"

"Are you saying that someone fell from the sky, and through friction with air, their remains burned into a relic?"

"In a world full of wonders, anything can happen! Who knows how those divine and dragon races are faring in the sky, perhaps it's one of the fallen dragon races!"

"The fallen dragon race on the island of Mon has three heads!"

"Everyone is saying that the sea tainted by dragon blood could mutate anything in the future, so keep your distance! It's even more terrifying than ancient nuclear radiation."

"If you were offered a sip of dragon blood to become a monster but gain immortality, would you take it?" Li Yihe posed a question that held a hint of philosophy.

"To give up my handsome appearance for immortality doesn't seem like a good deal."

"Well, after gaining immortality, you could always get plastic surgery to become a handsome guy, wouldn't that be killing two birds with one stone?"

"Boss, your disgusting ideas are always surprising!"

"Disgusting?!" Li Yihe's sharp gaze pierced into Cui Dong's mind, unsettling him.

"Not disgusting, but smart! I get it," Cui Dong understood that women like to have multiple good things at once, so having such thoughts wasn't that surprising.

"Let's drop the topic of the stone, we can't discern it anyway. Before you return it, do you really not notice anything different about Moana?"

"She just seems a bit tipsy from the wine, doesn't she?" Cui Dong racked his brain but couldn't find anything amiss. He couldn't possibly notice any issues when she was right in front of him, so how could he after the fact?

"From her gaze to expression and actions, she's the same ordinary Jiang Moana, but her aura is different."

"Isn't she just more confident now? You mentioned confidence changing one's aura; I think she exuded that confidence even when singing just now."

"Can confidence built up in a few days suddenly change one's aura?"

"Do you think this aura is something you desire? If so, then what's the problem?"

Li Yihe tapped his finger on the table twice and said, "This aura suits the stage even more, I want to give her more chances to establish her own aura on the stage, but suddenly she has this aura, like a seasoned stage presence that exudes a queenly air, the very essence of a stage queen!"

"Well, isn't that perfect then? She's still Jiang Moana at heart, and the aura is a necessary trait for your successor, it's simply perfect! So, how about handing over Moana's manager to me as well?"

"Get lost, you haven't brought forward anyone capable, giving Moana to you would be useless."

Being callously rejected by his boss was quite disappointing for Cui Dong. He had intended to rely solely on Moana as a cash cow and discard the rest, but now to be scorned by his boss left him feeling despondent.

Over the next few weeks, Jiang Moana's voice rose on the forefront of the battlefield, slowly becoming one of the celebrity stars who both comforted and inspired the frontline troops. On the other hand, Situ Liyao was not as active as before. Rumors had it that she was to succeed the position of the Duke of Othrie and consolidate all the resources of the Situ family for the support of the Othrie Empire. While Situ Liyao flourished, Jiang Moana began to attract more attention.
