Chapter Seventeen
The explosion of the clock tower on the Central Street of the capital did not surprise many people, as it seemed that, as the vampire hunter had said, they had all been evacuated to the outskirts.
Perra was sanctioning Ye Kai. In the shared memories of the vampires, the history of the vampire clan all originated from Perra's brain. The lessons of ancestors. As the only resurrected vampire, Perra would not give the new vampires full memories, fearing the situation today. What Perra did not expect was that it all happened so quickly.
"You..." Perhaps Perra had no idea how far Ye Kai would resist, how the mistakes made by ancestors would be brought up again into the vampire history by Ye Kai? In the moment of extracting blood, a blue light struck down from the sky, a warm-hearted light that vampires did not like at all, and it carried a heavy sense of killing.
The figure of a certain woman stood beside the hostage, her sword of blue light cutting through the dust rising in all directions. The appearance that Perra seemed to have seen before, although vague in her memory, was quite the opposite for the other party: an image that had been etched into Perra's memory for over a decade.
"Vampire Hunter—Chen Ming, finally to see you again, the Queen of Vampires!" Chen Ming had five more people protect the hostage from behind. The clock tower had long been surrounded by more hunters at this point, and the commotion caused by Perra's execution had attracted these people.
"Useless lot like you..."
"Shut up, Ye Kai," Perra interrupted Ye Kai's grandiose speech: "We do not need to fight with humans now. It was I who forced you to become vampires. If any of you do not wish to live on as vampires, hand over my blood!"
Such a statement undoubtedly amounted to coercion on Ye Kai and the others. Handing over blood meant to die 'without reservation,' without the past and the future, to die without reincarnation!
"Buzz!" The swords clashed loudly, Perra's sword and Chen Ming's sword entangling. The momentum of both sides stunned the onlookers; their sword strikes had no superfluous killing intent, as if both considered each other formidable adversaries, one needing to fall for the other to stop.
"Leave the capital!" Perra released the restraint on the others, allowing them to leave. With the fighting prowess of the Green-Eyed Vampire, these people were unlikely to hinder their departure. The biggest threat was Chen Ming, with her sword strikes carrying an intangible oppressive force. If she wielded a good sword in her hands, beheading an amateur Green-Eyed Vampire was not an impossible occurrence.
"Chen Ming, you have come at a most inconvenient time; you have cost me the opportunity to execute the traitor! He must go and fulfill his plan; this is the only chance!"
"You never believed a word a vampire said!"
Chen Ming cast a spell on her sword, and the sword's momentum swelled once again!
"A sword is just a sword, no matter how much the momentum expands, it will never be the divine sword 'Shattered Cloud.'"
"Why did you return after eighteen years of absence?" Chen Ming's sword thrust towards Perra's cheek, an absence of eighteen years prompting Chen Ming to give up seeking solace in becoming a daughter of a swordsmanship master, even handing over the sword that slays vampires, the divine sword, to her daughter.
"For survival, to live through the human hunts."
"Haven't humans always had to survive under your fangs?"
"Oh? Then you can leave that to the gods."
"You are a threat as well!"
The two figures suddenly plunged downwards, the sword energies of both swords simultaneously severing the support walls of the clock tower. In an instant, the symbol of Central Street collapsed, and Perra, taking advantage of the collapsed wall, used it as cover in mid-air, while Chen Ming, in the process of descent, suddenly broke through the side wall with a sword, instinctively resisting with all her strength, but who would have thought that the sword would break during this mutual full-powered clash.
The sword master remained fearless even with a broken sword in hand. He thrust the half sword, using sword energy as the blade, injuring both their arms. However, the injuries were advantageous against vampires. Perra exploded with astonishing fighting power, catching the sword energy with one hand, revealing fangs and crimson eyes. She swiftly grabbed Chen Ming's neck and dove down, crashing into the several-meter thick walls. Chen Ming coughed up blood, knowing that this was likely the outcome of the battle, but she had to try!
Chen Ming clasped her hands together, channeling all her magical power, and uttered her ultimate sword technique.
"Sword Rise!"
Harnessing her magic, ninety-nine sword energies erupted from Chen Ming in all directions, each pointing slightly crimson.
Perra promptly let go, using her sword to cut her palm, using the fresh blood as a shield. With her combat instincts, she launched a counterattack, knowing that a blood shield alone couldn't fully defend against the sword energy.
In an instant, red light pierced through the sky, accompanied by blue sword energy. The surrounding hunters risked their lives to protect the royal family, as the leading Chen Ming's battle unfolded like lightning. For humans, it was a fight between life and death, but for vampires, it was just a matter of losing limbs. Hunter's battles were never easy.
Chen Ming coughed up blood, collapsing among the rubble, her eyes fixed on Perra's crimson eyes. Perra's right hand pierced beside Chen Ming's left ear, the distance between them less than ten centimeters. Chen Ming should have died in the recent battle.
"I've practiced my ultimate sword technique for over a decade, yet you easily interrupted it. Just kill me!"
As it turned out, before hitting the ground, Perra had disrupted the "Sword Rise" at close range.
"This punch was meant for your face, but...I'm giving Qin Yang some face, as well as Hanya." Perra withdrew her hand from the rubble, struggling to stand. Evidently, "Sword Rise" had already injured her. Chen Ming's blood, infused with the lineage of those who had fought vampires for ages, was toxic to vampires and couldn't be consumed to heal injuries.
Comparatively, Chen Ming's injuries were more severe, leaving her almost helpless.
"Qin Yang?"
"This is a desperate move. That red indicates your life. The more you draw out the sword energy, the shorter your life becomes. Why bother?"
"Vampires are a cancer to humans. Is trading one for me not worth it?"
"We vampires are no longer what we used to be. Blood-sucking is not sustenance anymore. If those green-eyed youths are willing to drink the blood of the Demon Dragon."
"Demon Dragon's blood? Not feeding on blood anymore? What a joke! Our lifelong aspiration as vampire hunters..."
Perra mockingly said, "Aim to exterminate all vampires? You overestimate yourselves. If not for Qin Yang, you would not have survived."
A sudden booming sound, and a beam of energy pierced through the imperial defense shield, targeting Chen Ming's prone position. Perra intercepted the light with her hand.
Perra extended her arm, watching the light merge into her skin. "Looks like light, but it's dark, a world gone mad...everything's chaos."
"Chen Ming, if your emperor is ever in danger, remember it was you who let the mastermind go free - Ye Kai."
Unjust Angel flitted through the clouds, opening its fierce mouth above Nofice's head. Its sharp teeth collided with an inexplicably opened energy shield, causing Unjust Angel to become injured and emit not blood but beams of highly destructive light.
It was not Nofice who hurt Unjust Angel, but the dragon scales on Nofice's hands.
"Lilith, go take over Nofice's Magic array."
"Me? But I don't understand Magic arrays?" Lilith felt strange after receiving my message.
"It's okay, her Magic array has entered the automatic operation stage. Lilith, you just need to ensure that the dragon scales are filled with magic until the circuit diagram of the Magic array is complete."
"Hey, I'm supposed to protect your dad."
"Come on, even the Angel Emperor in the capital city has started to retreat. Let's not talk about you being the closest to anyone right now."
Lilith looked unhappy, but with a gesture, the demons turned their guns towards the immoral Angel and Lilith slid past the immoral Angel's lower abdomen to reach Nofice, while Nofice followed my instructions to ascend into the high sky.
"Sizzle..." The immoral Angel ignored the demons and rose directly, rubbing against the demons' faces. In an instant, a large portion of them dissipated. Lilith used divine fire to protect herself and the dragon scales.
The immoral Angel's tail smashed down like a heavy hammer on a glass cabinet, shattering the top of the capital city's defense Magic that had been pierced earlier. The other parts began to crack, and due to Guffy's influence, the magic levels in the capital city's defense Magic were uneven and difficult to balance. It had already made a great effort to hold on for the night and had already withstood three attacks.
In the air, Nofice raised her right hand with the palm facing outwards. The immoral Angel naturally stopped in front of her. Even with its eighteen wings spread out, it couldn't match the size of the immoral Angel's head. The immoral Angel's pupils dilated and then contracted.
"Are you nervous?" Nofice looked at him expressionlessly, and through Nofice's eyes, I could see the immoral Angel's every move clearly. Its claws kept twitching, suppressing the urge to attack.
"You are the source of my sins, for you...I have become like this."
"Me? I don't know."
"No...don't know? You don't know? How can you not know!"
Nofice remained the same, just with a slight tilting of her head. "Amnesia."
"Amnesia...damn, really damn." The immoral Angel seemingly couldn't control itself.
"Nofice told me, don't talk nonsense."
"Yes, master."
"Wait, you're Kolda, right."
I observed the immoral Angel through Nofice's eyes for a long time. Although its body had become grotesquely demonic, from some small features, I could identify its original identity. Considering that becoming an eighteen-winged Angel wasn't something that could be achieved in just a few million years, it was very likely that Kolda was born during the great war between gods and demons thirteen million years ago. Kolda was the most promising of the dual-winged Angels back then, and their configurations were similar. If not, it would be just a guess.
The immoral Angel took a deep breath and said, "That's correct."
"Kolda, what I have forgotten is just events, but I haven't forgotten people."
Kolda remained silent for a moment, then spoke up, "I'm sorry."
The apology came very suddenly, and at the same time, tears welled up in the giant eye of the immoral Angel, containing a sense of regret. Previously, I thought the immoral Angel had rushed at a terrifying speed to annihilate, or that was its original intention, but it hesitated and changed its mind only when Nofice mentioned forgetting everything.
"For what?"
"For the emotions I betrayed...and the wings I clipped." Kolda's trembling claws subconsciously reached out to touch Nofice's black feathers. Although Nofice had no expression on her face, she honestly backed away her wings, and Kolda slowly retracted his outstretched claws, seeing his grayish-white claws reflected in his own eyes.
Emotions? Could Kolda have been Nofice's former lover, perhaps more like siblings?
"You clipped my wings? Can you explain?"
"If you have forgotten, then it's fine. Even if I extract the spirit of your Angel, I won't feel guilty anymore. No... even with more sins... it doesn't matter." Kolda's eyes changed, its rationality seemed to be forcibly suppressed, the rationality of the Angel of Unrighteousness was already scarce.
Kolda's claws released amazing lightning, closing its eyes, the claws surrounding Nofice from left and right, lightning enveloping Nofice.
"Goodbye, the last Supreme Judge Nofice!" Because of the additional layer of sin in the heart of the Angel of Unrighteousness, it becomes even more hideous, bone spurs growing on its back.
"Supreme... Judge..."
A crowded scene flashed through Nofice's mind! But then, I was forced to cut off contact with Nofice.
"Ugh..."
The contract mark on my hand stung unbearably, almost causing me to faint from the pain, I couldn't sense Nofice's contact.
Qin Ying and Elena nervously asked beside me, "Qin Yang! Are you okay?"
"Quick... help me... find out what happened... to the Supreme Judge... two thousand years ago..."
"Supreme... Judge?" Elena paused and said, "No need to check, two thousand years ago, the War of Old and New Covenants among the gods erupted - the Conservative Movement."
"As for Nofice..."
"Unclear, all the names of the gods involved at the time were sealed, no one knows who was involved."
'Lilith! What exactly happened?'
'N... Nofice has gone mad!'
Suddenly, an eerie light emanated from the direction of the Imperial City, energy swiftly contracting, soon forming an energy sphere!
