Chapter Three
1
"Ah!!!" Qin Fenyu's shout boosted morale.
The fire of the Celestial Demon burned fiercely in Qin Fenyu's hands, the flames being contained within the armored suit, leaking out crimson black glows through the seams of the armor.
The Archangel gripped a soldier's head with one hand and ripped off his arm with the other. The Archangel surprisingly seemed to revel in the pleasure brought about by the slaughter, its eerie presence accentuated by the pristine white wings, instilling immense fear with its terrifying power.
"Boom!" Amidst the explosion of flames, Qin Fenyu swiftly pivoted, maneuvering his armor to rescue the soldier from the hands of the Archangel. The ground behind them was filled with fallen armored suits in a pool of blood.
"Duke, can we really defeat the Archangel? He hasn't even summoned the Angel Legion yet, which means we haven't posed a threat to him," the soldier's morale had plummeted to the point of questioning the meaning of the battle.
"It is our lack of determination that renders us non-threatening. We must show the divine beings that humanity does not fear them."
"Has negotiations with His Majesty the Emperor failed?"
"The divine beings never offered us a chance for negotiation from the beginning. Any further attempts would be futile. They blame us for everything that tarnishes the reputation of the divine beings, all to extract our secrets. But that is the Emperor's responsibility. Our duty is to protect our home and country. Behind us lies not only the nation but also our families."
"Duke, I can continue to fight. Othrie has no deserters!" The soldier activated the armor's emergency healing function, using particles to seal and stop the bleeding at the severed arm, followed by basic treatment and pain relief to be able to persevere in battle. The price, however, was forfeiting the chance to reattach the arm.
Qin Fenyu felt honored to have soldiers like this one. Led by him, all the wounded soldiers hastily reactivated their armor, causing the entire battlefield to sparkle with particles.
The Archangel seemed to dislike the glittering particles, waving them away with his hands and covering their light with the radiant glow of his fists, emanating a strong scent of blood.
"Listen, our goal is to drive the Archangel out before he completes his shield, but I don't want anyone sacrificed. Real combat strength requires staying alive."
"We'll drive him out!" The soldiers shouted, with particles on their hands forming long-range weapons. The armor machinery produced by the Qin family focused on close combat, while long-range attacks were the specialty of the Situ family, with the weapons sold by Situ Liyao being a prime example.
"Poor mortals," the Archangel uttered his first words.
"Hahaha~~~ The divine beings still refer to us as mortals! Look closely, you divine beings on the other side, and witness the wisdom of mortals." Flames took the shape of a giant bird beside Qin Fenyu, emitting bird-like cries from its mouth - a spell. In fact, many members of the Qin family knew this spell, but only the leaders who led the clan knew how to use it. However, very few leaders in history had wielded it, and most importantly, there were none who had inherited the sacred flame. It required the cultivation of an exceptionally powerful fire element Magic, the Phoenix Magic used by Qin Fenyu from the most elusive race - the Phoenix.
The giant bird enveloped Qin Fenyu as the soldiers launched their attack simultaneously, intermixing two magic chains amid the gunfire.
"Clack! Clack!" The magic chains produced sounds akin to real metal chains. The fact that just two chains could restrain the Archangel was almost unbelievable even to the soldiers themselves. The Archangel, however, struggled to break free.
"Digital Magic.... Igniting the Stars." The deep voice of the Great Angel resonated as he felt the soldiers simultaneously using the "L" particles of Digital Magic, strengthening the resonance between their Magics to a geometrically higher level.
"Yes, we are the Ignition of the Stars." The fierce fire dragon tornado of the celestial demon surged towards the Great Angel's face.
"You are the one who truly makes me enjoy the game," the Great Angel unfolded his wings, radiating light as bright as a sword breaking shields. The Great Angel delivered a heavy blow to Qin Fuyu, yet he showed no signs of pain. The Great Angel clenched his fist once again and struck Qin Fuyu's neck crooked.
The soldiers held their breath, silently chanting the name of the Imperial War God.
The Great Angel quickly distanced himself from Qin Fuyu, as the burning sensation from the celestial demon's fire was extremely intense on his body. The Angel's fists even lost a layer of skin.
In the Angel's eyes, he saw Qin Fuyu correcting his neck on his own, as if he had never been injured.
"The Phoenix Cloak of Immortality..."
"It's the Black Phoenix Bathing in Flames!"
The Phoenix lineage hidden within Qin Fuyu's body temporarily granted him the physique of a phoenix. Each attack he endured would enhance his own magic power, the stronger the enemy's attack, the stronger he became.
In front of the Great Angel appeared a black fire phoenix, Qin Fuyu's eyes ablaze with flames, leaving only the flames from his eyes in the eyes of the soldiers.
"Get out!"
"Ah~~~" The Great Angel was swept out of the defensive range of the Imperial Capital by the flames, and the defense behind the fire phoenix was completed in this instant, leaving Qin Fuyu and the Great Angel outside the city.
"You stay out." The Great Angel tidied up his half-burned clothes, his body severely scorched, but he paid no attention to these wounds. Still, with a proud attitude, he pointed at Qin Fuyu, as if saying, 'As long as you are here, the game continues.'
Qin Fuyu was enveloped in black flames in the air, with a graceful phoenix tail behind him. Flames leaked from the joints of his armored suit, and the particles changed strangely, creating a rainbow of colors like flying birds, resembling a scene of a hundred birds bowing to the phoenix.
"Please, continue!"

"Madam, the Duke is still outside the city."
The servant reported Qin Fuyu's whereabouts to Nia, who remained silent, only waving her hand for him to leave, standing alone by the window, gazing at the darkest part of the sky.
At The Chishin Academy, Guffy sat by the window as well, but she gazed at the distant seas of Yao.
However, whether the dark skies or the distant seas of Yao, they both held the most cherished and beloved people for them.
