Chapter 21
1
The six Angels began singing hymns, and the hymns themselves were incredibly diverse, ones I had never heard before.
"What hymn are they singing?" I could only ask Nofice, who was also an Angel.
"The Marese Hymn. Its purpose is merely to disperse the crowd."
"They wouldn't be trying to use this hymn to make me leave, would they?"
Of the five Angels flying in the sky, three had four wings, while the rest, including the one in front of me, were Angles with two wings. They were the lowest-ranking within the lower ranks, capable of killing without a trace in my sight, which made me very angry and dissatisfied with this answer.
"Whether we fall from grace or not has nothing to do with you! The old laws also have nothing to do with us!" said the Angel hovering on the ground. His voice sounded elderly, as if he had aged considerably. The lifespan of a single-winged Angel is probably only a few thousand years, and it seemed that he had already lived through more than half of it.
"You speak with such arrogance. I really want to interrogate you, whether the dignity of the divine race still exists!"
"Our dignity is as solid as a rock!"
"Hahaha! You've been sneaky spies, you've committed soul-snatching assassinations, and you've even made cursed daggers used by evildoers. Dignity? You've long let the dogs eat it!"
"Woof woof!" My Nantos dog in my arms barked cooperatively twice!
"In our new law, we don't need to fall from grace to betray the divine race! We haven't done anything that violates the new law! We represent the justice of The Divine Realm! No one can question the decisions of The Divine Realm Council, and even less so the decision of the Holy Dragon! Our dignity is determined by us!" The new law of the divine race has been in effect for at least tens of thousands of years, and the new generation of the divine race has completely forgotten what moral values The Divine Realm set forth in the old law.
"The current divine race is disheartening! They show no remorse!"
"You are more formidable than I imagined, remaining unmoved!" The face of that Angel appeared aged under the street lamp. The frequency of his flapping wings and the speed of his floating were quite slow. The five Angels in the sky, on the other hand, were young in age and possessed strong and powerful voices.
"Alright, stop singing. Even if you sing until your throats are hoarse, I won't leave!" Continuing to sing this hymn would be useless at this point, and at this moment, it sounded quite harsh to me. These sacred hymns, originally pure and noble, were being sung by this group of filthy Angels, which was not only a shame for the composer but also an insult to the "hymn" itself.
The elderly Angel slowly raised his right hand, and the five Angels ceased their singing but remained flying in mid-air, their eyes filled with hostility towards me.
"At this point, you six have no choice but to tell me the purpose behind the killings throughout the entire empire!"
"We don't want to tell you."
"Is that so!" With a heavy tone, a gust of wind blew beneath my feet, causing the Angels to avoid it. When the wind subsided, they saw a pair of blue eyes, and instantly felt that the pure and radiant aura was greater than any deity they had encountered.
The Angels revealed their weapons, even though they believed they had no chance of winning, they still fought with all their might.
I didn't need to move a finger to deal with these Angels.
"Nana, let's wait outside!" I shook the dog in my arms in front of Nana and said.
"Divine Light Magic is so annoying!" As a member of the demon race, there was an instinctual resistance towards the divine race's Divine Light Magic.
The five Angels swooped down, their white wings unable to hide in the darkness of the night. Each of their cold weapons was aimed at vital points, striving to be lethal! The once representative of purity and kindness, the Angels had been trained to be assassins, filled with a stomach full of killing and desire, their thoughts twisted. Yet they wouldn't resist the commands of their superior Angels, resembling Fallen Angels but not truly Fallen Angels!
As we turned away, eighteen black and white wings sprouted behind Nofice, causing the five Angels to retract their weapons in an instant. They were astonished by Nofice's appearance, as it was rare to see an Angel with eighteen wings in the Divine Realm.
In the dim alley, only the Angels remained, staring at each other in disbelief at the sight of the black and white eighteen-winged Angel.
"Eighteen wings? Black and white?"
"Old man, do you know anything about her origins?" one of the five Angels, a four-winged Angel, flew to the side of the old Angel and asked.
"No, I have never heard of an Angel with black and white wings! She has the aura of a Fallen Angel and an Angel, which is impossible in my knowledge!"
"Are you done chatting?" Nofice took out her staff and immediately conjured a complex magic formation around her, bewildering those who looked at it.
"Ah!" The six Angels felt their energy draining away, their wings and limbs suddenly weakening.
Nofice drew circles in the sky with her staff, summoning six bolts of lightning to strike down. The Angels struggled to resist the attacks with their own magic, but the relentless assault of the lightning waves left them powerless. They tried to harness the elements, but it was midnight, and there was little light elemental power available. Their energy was depleting too quickly, and they couldn't put up any resistance.
"Have you figured out the answer to my master's question?" Nofice raised her wings and flew in front of them, asking.
"Pur...purpose, we don't know!"
"..."
"Ah! Ah!" Miserable cries echoed through the streets, but there was no one left in the entire street, and no matter how loudly they screamed, there would be no response.
"We...we... have nothing to say!"
"Ah! Ah!"
"Princess of the Ice Wheel Valkyrie... She will come... and save us! Ah! Ah!"
"Valkyrie?" Nofice heard an inexplicable title.
"Question, ask again!"
After Nofice approached them, they struggled to lift their heads in pain. The old Angel stared at Nofice with his murky eyes as if recalling something.
"NO...Nofice... Grand...Grand Judge?"
"Grand Judge?" Nofice couldn't understand what he was saying. Anyone would know that the Grand Judge of the Divine Realm was the highest authority for judging Angelic beings, and Hisa Brandt was the last enforcer.
"Yes... former Grand...Grand Judge!" Nofice stopped the lightning and stared straight at the old Angel in front of her.
"The Grand Judge who claimed to be wronged three thousand years ago! Her appearance is unforgettable to me."
"Old...old man! Is she that judge?"
"It must be her!"
Nofice remained silent, feeling a faint struggle within her emotions.
"Old man, it seems like she doesn't remember anything. Shouldn't you tell her more things or maybe she will spare us?"
"I wish I could, but with my position, it's already fortunate enough to have seen her once. How could I know more?"
"Then go to die!" Nofice raised her staff and made two gestures above the old Angel's head, as if she was going to strike the staff down...

I leaned against my motorcycle, looking at the empty street with no one but Nanato, and the Nantos dog I held in my hands.
"Will Nofice ask you what you want?"
"I don't think so. It's a lesson for them. If they die, let them die. I don't want to see them at all!" The mention of those Angels made me furious. My Angel back then was kind, upright, and honorable.
"Someone's coming!" Nana looked warily at the distant street. Step by step, someone was approaching. I saw a shiny red-gold armor, full of grandeur! Then I noticed two metallic shield-like objects floating between her arms, resembling triangles, as well as five cone-shaped objects emitting golden lights following her.
"E... Elena?" I saw Elena's golden long hair and her incredibly familiar face. Both my heart twisted inside me!
