Chapter 20

1

Tony lay on his bed in his convenience store, his eyes fixed on the fish tank on the round table. Two small fish were circling the stone in the center of the tank, their movements seeming to evoke memories in Tony's eyes.

"Hey, do all fish like to circle around things?"

"Fish have simple brains, they forget things in a matter of seconds, so anything is novel to them, no matter how many times they've seen it."

"And what about you?"

"Me? Our brains are more developed. After becoming demons, we have human-like thoughts!" Han, wearing pajamas, lied on the other bed next to Tony.

"If you're a demon, why do you long to become human?"

"So I can be with you!"

"I've said it many times, being with me won't bring you any happiness."

Han just smiled. She was willing to follow him, ever since she met Tony in the sea ten years ago. Every day, she would appear by Tony's side. She felt that Tony must have been lonely while sealed in the ice sculpture emerging from the bottom of the sea. Although Tony initially ignored her, her daily appearances made Tony feel entertained by her swimming around him. Gradually, he got used to her presence. Later, Tony finally realized that she was actually dancing, especially in the form of the Whale King in the Demon Sword. He loved watching her dance.

"What's wrong?" Suddenly, Han went blank for a moment. Tony was used to her usual reaction. It must be because she received a message.

"She received a message. The conservative faction of The Divine Realm won the election for The Divine Realm Council. They have decided not to give up their faith in The Human Realm!" Han organized her thoughts and said.

"They want to take action. What are their demands?"

"Just cooperate with the great gods in The Divine Realm Council. If possible, combine our affairs with the council's affairs. It might have a better effect."

Tony pressed his temples with his thumb. Helping The Divine Realm required more brainpower than helping The Demon Realm. It couldn't be done directly; there had to be some sort of scheme. Tony took out a book from under the bed titled "Great Detective Xiao Di."

"Do you think you'll come up with a solution after finishing your detective novel under the bed? Seriously, Tony, you're ridiculous as a master criminal." Tony's bed was raised by a thick layer of things that resembled books.

"Pia, stop stealing my snacks!" Pia's mouth was still covered in snack packaging, and Tony knew she had stolen something from his warehouse again.

"You stingy person, you earn so much money from those students, I'm not losing anything by taking a little from you."

"Hey!" Tony didn't care that Pia was lying on the bed reading. However, Pia took out a bag of spicy sticks from her pocket, tore open the packaging with her sharp teeth, and continued eating.

I stood at the end of the alley, looking ahead and at the three intersections to my left and right. There was only one streetlamp above me, and all other places were pitch-black, but I could see that there was no one at any of the intersections.

When I cut the small wire behind me, the entire dark alley was surrounded by a forbidden magic array. Three large crossbows and six small auto-crossbows were all fired simultaneously from different positions, but they all hit one spot—the spot where I had just stood ten centimeters ago.

"Why did you calculate so accurately? I told you, space magic is a trap breaker. If I didn't appear there in that store, no matter how they calculated, it would be useless."

"You fool, they only calculated one place." Nofice's tone seemed to disdain the enemy for only calculating one place as if it were a foolish act, but she didn't have a disdainful expression on her face.

"He was overly confident that I would step on it, hey, which way is the little dog going?"

The Nan Tos dog stretched its head out from my arms, looked both ways, sniffed a few times with its nose, and extended its not-so-long dog claws towards the street ahead.

"Forward!" I took another step and appeared at the entrance of the alley. If I could set a trap in one place, I could set traps in more places. Following the guidance of the Nan Tos dog, we continued through several more alleys until we stopped under the same street lamp.

The other side already knew I was following him. He led me in circles and brought me back to where I started, indicating that he was taking action.

"Buzz~ Buzz~ Buzz!" It seemed like there was intermittent buzzing ahead, getting closer and closer.

My blue eyes stared straight ahead. Three needle-like objects appeared and disappeared in the darkness. This was the effect of spatial magic on the steel needles. Being able to use spatial magic without touching objects was definitely an extraordinary skill among spatial mages. However, if the movement was linear, it would be easy to solve. If it was irregular, I would have to calculate where it would appear next.

Three steel needles appeared under my feet, firmly inserted into the ground with great force.

Then, three more steel needles emerged from the darkness.

"Stop fooling around. If you can't move, the effect will be the same." Three steel needles once again pierced into the ground.

As long as I knew where the next position would be, I could use my spatial magic to disrupt it.

The other side didn't say anything, but the attacks continued. There was a loud buzzing noise, causing discomfort in my eardrums.

This time, at least twenty thousand steel needles appeared. To save time, I decided to use "L" particles. After predicting the positions of twenty thousand steel needles, I rotated the ring. However, the response of the "L" particles was extremely slow. It must have been due to the black overload particles, causing an error in the internal programming of the ring or damage to the particles. When I came out, I forgot to switch to a different one. Now, I remembered it at the most inconvenient time. While my mind wandered, twenty thousand steel needles had already passed the previous disrupted position, and the next position was right in front of me!

One, two, three... one thousand... nine thousand nine hundred and ninety-two... eight more!

"I could have easily thrown away all the steel needles violently, but I had to waste time like this. Is the Divine Dragon that boring?"

"Nana, I find enjoyment in this mismatched battle. Don't call me boring, okay?"

Nana was dressed all in black, and with just a cloak, she would look like a messenger from the Underworld.

"I asked the consul who governs the Imperial City of the Underworld, and no messenger has ever taken the souls killed by the cursed dagger."

"Now I know where these souls are." I picked up the steel needles on the ground. Each needle contained a soul. Twenty thousand and six needles, twenty thousand and six souls. Who would be so capricious as to seal souls inside these needles? Each needle was a divine artifact, so why were they so cheap? These hidden weapons that once thrown cannot be retrieved were already incredible as seventh or eighth tier magic tools. Each needle from this person was a divine artifact. No wonder they could appear intermittently. This was the effect of divine artifacts. The user should not use spatial magic.

"You must be from The Divine Realm, filled with evil. According to the old law of The Divine Realm, I have the right to cast you down!" I held the trembling Nan Tos dog in my arms.

A burst of holy light magic power surged out of the alley, and feathers fell from the sky. A dual-winged angel appeared from the shadows. Only two wings? The lowest-ranking angel was actually using a divine artifact!

At the same time, there were also five angels flying in the sky, singing sacred hymns!
