"I suspect you're messing with me." Leticia, with a terribly distressed look on her face, said huskily to Bai Ling who held the similar expression.
"Indeed," Bai Ling nodded quite naturally. She admitted it.
"I swear I'm going to hit you!" Enraged Leticia, raising her small fist, sprung towards Bai Ling.
Dealing with the coming onslaught, Bai Ling calmly reached out and effortlessly grabbed Leticia's fist, "Calm down."
"Get lost!" responded Leticia.
"Ha-ha, Bai Ya, you and your sister have such a good relationship." The sideline observer, Bai Ya, suddenly felt redundant. She chuckled and suggested to the two girls, "The clothes have already been taken care of, how about going for a barbecue now?"
After having spent almost three hours in the clothing store, Bai Ling, with a wave of her hand, ordered more than ten sets of clothes. The sight of such extravagance made the salesgirls' eyes gleam, some of them desperately longing to cling onto Bai Ling and shout out loud, "Sugar mama, please keep me!"
Included among these clothes were three sets for Leticia, upon-bai Ling's strong request.
"I'll come and check at your house once the clothes arrive," Bai Ling told Leticia, after paying the bill.
What she was implying was that she would force Leticia to try on every outfit.
To this, Leticia expressed her utmost irritation.
Why did she have to wear these kinds of clothes? Why!
Undoubtedly, the dresses were her least favorite types of clothing.
To top it off, Bai Ling, with a silly grin, said to her: "Btw,the socks which come with the clothes can be considered as my gift to you."
Socks? Leticia already had an idea of what kind they were.
"Roasting Bai Ling's meat? Now, that does sound interesting." Leticia clenched her teeth and forced out a rather chilly remark.
Bai Ya gave an awkward laugh. She decided to interpret this as Leticia's reluctant agreement.
"Let's go to a very famous Tauren barbecue restaurant then, I heard they use high-quality beef imported from the Orc grasslands. It tastes much better than local beef here."
"Great." Bai Ling grabbed Leticia's wrist, trying to prevent the irate girl from doing anything rash.
Seeing his sister holding onto Leticia so tightly, Bai Ya couldn't help but give a knowing look.
His sister had just denied last night that she and Leticia were anything more than friends. But here they were, acting like hand-holding lovers. Talk about saying one thing while doing another.
Leticia, though she put on a show of resistance, did not really fight back, leading Bai Ya to subconsciously think that maybe Leticia did indeed have feelings for Bai Ling.
Unbeknownst to her, beneath their seemingly calm surfaces, a fierce contest was taking place.
The generally harmonious atmosphere between Bai Ling and Leticia was simply due to the fierce struggle between Bai Ling's spiritual energy and Leticia's dark power at the point of their contact.
It wasn't until Bai Ya led them to the front door of the barbecue restaurant that the battle ceased.
Neither of them could overwhelm the other in a simple power struggle. Leticia, though somewhat overwhelmed, could withstand it.
"You're as irritating as ever." Leticia, rubbing her somewhat purple wrist, said out of nowhere.
With a vacant look on her face, Bai Ling observed the clean palm of her hand and slowly nodded, "So are you."
The back and forth exchange further led Bai Ya to believe in her hunch. Looking at the way they spoke, no one would believe they were just friends!
Perhaps because it wasn't lunchtime yet, the barbecue restaurant had few customers. The three girls easily found a vacant spot and sat down.
A waiter handed them the menu. Looking at the long list of mouth-watering options, Bai Ya's eyes started to water.
"What on earth is this French-style sweet and sour tomato slices with buttery scrambled eggs!"
"Wait, isn't this just scrambled eggs with tomatoes? But expressed in such a fancy way." Leticia peeked over and commented somewhat speechlessly.
"Well, at least it sounds more pretentious than scrambled eggs with tomatoes, right?" The young waiter was quite laid back and smoothly replied to Leticia's banter.
"Also a lot more expensive."
"It's a business, after all."
While Leticia was teasing the waiter about the dish names and prices on the menu, the slightly dazed Bai Ya had already picked out what she wanted to eat.
Handing the menu to Bai Ling, Bai Ya suddenlyn remembered that they do offer a set menu for multiple people.
"Why don't we order a set menu for three?" she suggested.
"Given your sister's appetite, she can finish a three-person set on her own." Leticia objected. She was worried she may not get the dishes she wanted with the three-person set menu.
Bai Ling's face turned slightly red, imperceptibly. The amount of food she needs every day is indeed a larger figure, and this morning her sister prepared the breakfast based on an average girl's appetite, which hardly filled her up.
In other words, she was... a bit hungry.
But for a girl, having a large appetite didn't seem to be a good descriptor.
"I'm fine with just this one..."
"Don't be shy now. Not treating yourself right is a bad habit." Before Bai Ling could finish, Leticia had grabbed the menu from her hands and swiftly added several more main courses to their order.
After ordering, she flashed a 'don't mention it' smile at Bai Ling, who had already started rolling up her sleeves in anticipation.
