"This guy is suspicious," Mikan frowned slightly. If he lived in dormitory area E, there wouldn't be anyone who wouldn't fall for her.
Mikan was a student of grade C level, blessed with a cute appearance and her gift of charm. It wouldn't be an issue making someone fall for her in a short period, but somehow it had no effect on Han Jin.
"Hey, mate, don't tell me you're gay," Mikan shouted loudly without any concern about the image she should uphold as a girl, "Or perhaps little buddy there stopped working?"
Han Jin couldn't ignore those words; otherwise, people would take it for granted. He opened his room door and stared at the girl standing in front of him impatiently, "I told you I don't know what you are talking about, why are you still hanging around my doorway?"
Mikan tiptoed and gazed into Han Jin's room, "Don't tell me you've something disgraceful hidden in your room?"
"Do all girls act like you nowadays? You are surprisingly brazen," Han Jin remarked, utterly speechless. He found this girl was shameless to an invincible degree, regardless of gender.
Han Jin’s hand rested against the door frame, "Stop looking, you won't find what you're looking for in there."
Suddenly, the girl lowered her head and made a strange smile at Han Jin, "That's not necessarily true. You're the one who destroyed the C2 classroom yesterday, aren't you?"
Han Jin was surprised by her sudden accusation, but he kept his composure, "Oh? If I had such capability, would I stay in class E?"
He decided to resort to using his rank in the class to rebuff her accusation, assuming that she was merely guessing.
"Hehe," Mikan laughed strangely, extracting an elegant golden phoenix handkerchief from her metal bracelet, wrapping something inside, "I do have proof."
Mikan slowly opened her handkerchief, which contained fragments of a red brick.
"It's an important clue," Mikan smirked at Han Jin, "This is something I found in the ruins of the C2 classroom last night. It's enough to prove your identity."
Han Jin chuckled coldly, "A broken brick fragment can't prove anything. You should go play your detective games somewhere else."
Han Jin attempted to close the door again, this time with more force. Still, he didn't expect the quick reaction of the girl. Mikan jammed her hand in the closing gap.
"Wait!" Mikan was close to crying from the pain of her hand being pinched, but she did it anyway.
Han Jin’s conscience made it hard for him to keep shutting her out, "Are you crazy? Lucky for you that this is the crappy dorm building, otherwise that would have severed your hand."
Mikan forced a laugh through her teary eyes, "I've investigated your background. During the entrance exam, you surprised everyone by sending the examiner to the hospital with a single brick, and the C2 classroom was made from memory metal. Where did the brick come from? These red brick shards are the best evidence!"
Despite having been pinched to the point of bleeding, she still managed to laugh as if it was nothing, earning a bit of Han Jin's respect.
"Moreover, you had a fight with those boys from class C yesterday, didn’t you?" Mikan gave Han Jin a knowing look.
"Where did you get all this information?" Han Jin asked skeptically while raising an eyebrow.
Mikan suddenly became mysterious, "Well, that's my little secret. But you are indirectly admitting that you're the person in question, aren't you?"
Han Jin didn't answer her, went back to his room and the girl followed rudely, "Do I have to remove my shoes here?"
"As you please, but what makes you think I won't silence you or do weird things since you just barged in here?" Han Jin asked half-jokingly.
Mikan didn't show any hint of fear, "To kill someone silently within Hero Academy, you need to be at least grade A level. Of course, I don't doubt your ability. But isn't killing such a cute girl without backing her into a corner a bit hasty?"
She even threw a wink at Han Jin, which made him feel creepy, "Alright, alright, your charm doesn't work on me, don’t waste your energy."
“I don't have any powers, you know. I'm speaking the truth. And why should it always be assumed that women are the disadvantaged ones when it comes to intimate relationships? Why can't I keep choosing the men I fancy?" Mikan asked, looking at Han Jin very seriously.
At the moment, all that was running through Han Jin's head was: This girl's thinking is rather hazardous.
Seeing this, Han Jin gave Mikan a slight smile: "So, am I the first man you've taken a fancy to?"
"The first one." Mikan blurted out without hesitation, this brought about a derisive glance from Han Jin. Even she found it hard to maintain her pride faced with such a look, her face flushing slightly, "Hey, don't think I'm an easy woman, okay? Those deadbeats couldn't possibly attract me."
Having said this, someone still in the hospital sneezed hard: "Eh, I think I've caught a cold again. Finally, I have an excuse to call my little sister over. Nice."
"Alright, alright, just spit out your real intention." This wasn't a big deal at all, just a minor inconvenience. However, Han Jin had already made up his mind to be more studiously careful in the future.
"Intention? My intention is just to see what sort of person in class E maintains a minimum of B1-level skills. By the way, I don't even know your name yet. Mine is Mikan. You can call me little Mikan, or just Mikan."
Han Jin's head was throbbing. What a handful this girl was! It seemed that she was impervious to both soft and tough tactics, leaving Han Jin no choice but to let her be: "I'm Han Jin. Now you've seen me, can you leave now?"
As soon as she heard Han Jin's words, Mikan immediately resumed her meek demeanour: "Oh my, my hand hurts terribly. Did I break a bone?"
Her acting skills were rather poor, and she kept peeking at Han Jin.
"Your acting is so fake. Come over here, I'll show you what a real broken bone feels like." Han Jin said, producing a hammer from nowhere and gesturing to Mikan with a smile.
Mikan quickly retreated a few steps, sticking out her tongue at Han Jin: "I'm not going over there, nah~. It's getting late, I should go back now. But I'll be back, don't miss me too much, alright?"
"Cut the crap and just disappear." Han Jin watched as the bouncy girl bounded off, his feelings a complex mix. He knew he had just encountered a troublesome girl, yet he was not particularly repulsed by her.
Anyway, since the girl had managed to trace him, it was only a matter of time before Hero Academy found him. Although he was not afraid, it was necessary to prepare for the inevitable.
