Chapter 21
"Hahahaha!!"
"Stop laughing, big sister~ Can you please go to sleep?"
Bell Tong sat in front of the computer, watching a movie and laughing.
"Almost, almost done~"
She didn't even glance at Samson Nan, eyes fixed on the screen while munching on melon seeds.
When Bell Tong first arrived at the apartment, she was actually nervous, but that lasted only for two minutes. She had already taken control of the place.
"For goodness sake, what time is it? You have class tomorrow, and I have work. Go take a shower!"
"You're so naggy! Middle-aged person!"
"What...!"
He was speechless.
"Poor Yu Yu, having to endure the chanting of the monks every day~"
"..."
After a tiring day, he was not in the mood to argue with her.
"Feng Gege, where do I sleep?"
"Inside."
He pointed to the room at the far end, which was usually empty.
Bell Tong jumped off the chair and headed towards the bathroom.
"Oh no, I forgot to bring my pajamas!"
She suddenly exclaimed.
"Why do you make such a fuss?"
"Who knows if there's something dirty on your bed? I don't want to sleep naked!"
She intentionally made a disgusted face.
"Here you go."
Samson Nan tossed a set of pajamas in front of her.
"Why... do you have this?"
It was a pajama with strawberry patterns, and no matter how you looked at it, it didn't look like something a man would wear.
"It's Yu Yu's."
Bell Tong paused for a moment, and then stared at him.
"Are you stealing her clothes?!"
"Hey..."
"Fetish! How perverted!"
"Bell Tong!!"
"Hehe~"
After successfully provoking Samson Nan, she quickly escaped into the bathroom and closed the door.
He was speechless. If Raina Nan was also like this pixie...
While reflecting on his own sister's poor choice of friends, he also wondered where that hysterical Bell Tong had gone today.
But he believed his own eyes. The Bell Tong who was about to cry didn't seem to be acting...
Speaking of which, what's wrong with Bell Tong's dad? He didn't even call her today. He couldn't imagine a father who could be so heartless.
Lying on the bed, Samson Nan thought about it and closed his eyes.
Drip, drip, drip.
He woke up, who was texting him so late? He turned on his side and blindly reached for his phone in the darkness.
Looking at the words on the screen:
"Message from Roxie Lin"
He paused for a moment before remembering that he had exchanged phone numbers with this person before.
Roxie Lin, his impression of her was only limited to "Raina Nan's classmate," but he had to admit that without her, Samson Nan probably wouldn't have discovered Raina Nan and Bell Tong's scheme.
"Brother Nan, are you asleep?"
"Not yet, what's up?"
"Xiao Ling told me everything."
"Oh"
It seemed that Bell Tong didn't plan to keep hiding anymore.
"So, is Xiao Ling with you now?"
"She is."
"Then please take care of her, Brother Nan."
Before he had a chance to type, Roxie Lin sent another message:
"Although Xiao Ling's mouth can be sharp, she is really a good person, so please don't mind her~^__^"
Samson Nan couldn't help but chuckle. It's rare to see such a sensible girl nowadays.
"It's alright~"
"I'm happy that I can talk to Brother Nan normally today."
"Is that so, hehe"
He recalled the first time he saw Roxie Lin at the school gate, she was a shy and awkward girl who couldn't even speak properly.
"Well, I won't disturb you anymore, good night~"
"Good night!"
He put down his phone and checked the time. It was almost midnight. But the sound of water from the outdoor bathroom hadn't stopped yet, and this Bell Tong had been bathing for an hour already.
According to common sense, when a man and a woman are alone in a room, something should happen to follow the standard plot.
But his decision was... to wrap himself in the blanket and go to sleep.
Bell Tong's childlike body probably didn't interest him (laughs)...
...
"Morning..."
In the early morning, Bell Tong rubbed her half-opened eyes and walked out of the room.
"Hurry up and eat."
Samson Nan pointed to the side.
On the dining table, there was neatly arranged lettuce salad, milk, and eggs.
The salad was freshly mixed, and the milk was steaming.
"Oh."
She was a little surprised, sat down and tasted it. She usually didn't like to eat lettuce in the morning, but the salad he mixed tasted good.
"I didn't expect it. What a good man."
She said and finished the milk in one gulp.
"Thank you."
"Here."
He handed her the shoes.
Bell Tong glanced at them and saw that he had cleaned the shoes, they were spotlessly clean.
"Oh..."
She started to understand why Raina Nan couldn't live without her brother.
"I'll go ahead~"
Bell Tong changed her shoes, picked up her backpack, and opened the door.
"Huh?!" x2
Unexpectedly, as soon as she stepped out of the door, she bumped into someone.
"Who are you?" x2
When the two looked at each other, standing in front of Bell Tong was a tall and beautiful woman.
"Luo Jia?"
Samson Nan looked at her in surprise. This was already the second time he had bumped into Jocelyn York as soon as he opened the door, without any warning.
"Who is she?"
Bell Tong looked at Samson Nan suspiciously, then looked at Jocelyn York.
Before Samson Nan could answer, Jocelyn York spoke again:
"Samson Nan, why do you have... a primary school girl in your house?"
She covered her mouth, looking astonished.
"Huh?! A primary school girl? Who are you talking about?!"
Even before Samson Nan could speak, Bell Tong stood on tiptoe, staring at Jocelyn York. It seemed that these three words were a forbidden language to her.
"Oh, I remember now. You're the woman who went shopping with Brother Feng last time, coming to knock on Brother Feng's door early in the morning. What's your plan? Speak up!"
Bell Tong looked at her and found her familiar. She remembered it was the woman she saw after coming out of the cinema that time. At that time, Roxie Lin even speculated if she was Samson Nan's girlfriend...
She said assertively, not giving an inch in terms of momentum.
"Plan? What plan could I have? I'm here to return his clothes!"
Jocelyn York said and took out a pocket. Inside it was the jacket that Samson Nan had forgotten at the basketball court yesterday.
Without much thought, the clothes were given to her by William Wei, and it was clear that William Wei had ulterior motives. Samson Nan could only smile bitterly...
"Clothes?! Brother Feng, how did your clothes end up with her? What is your relationship, anyway?!"
Bell Tong listened and felt that something was off, pointing the finger at Samson Nan. Obviously, she had misunderstood.
"Can I say something?"
Samson Nan waited until they stopped talking, then spoke, explaining the situation in a few words.
...
"So, it turns out you're Raina's classmate... I thought..."
"What?"
"You have 'that' kind of hobby..."
Jocelyn York said the last few words in a low voice.
He heard it but pretended not to hear, feeling helpless. So, in her eyes, he was someone who might have "that" kind of hobby?
"Xiao Ling, sorry about earlier."
Jocelyn York apologized to Bell Tong with regret.
"Well... I was also in the wrong. Let's just call it even between us!"Although Bell Tong still had some lingering resentment towards the "primary school student" comment, she quickly let it go. That's just how she is - quick to get angry and quick to let go.
"Jocelyn, is this really about that?" Samson Nan took the clothes and looked at her.
"Ah, yeah, there's nothing else." Bell Tong smiled.
"Well, thank you."
"Hehe." She squinted her eyes, revealing a gap-toothed smile that was as warm as winter sunlight.
"I have to go, I'll be late!" Bell Tong glanced at the time, realizing that there were only a few minutes left before class, or rather, she was already late.
"Let me give you a ride, my car is downstairs." Jocelyn York offered.
"Huh? Is that okay...?" Bell Tong still pretended to be polite when dealing with someone she just met.
"Of course it's okay, consider it my way of apologizing."
"Then, thank you!" Bell Tong grinned.
Samson Nan looked curiously at the two of them, surprised at how unexpectedly well they got along.
"In that case, I won't send you downstairs. I should prepare to go to work too." He paused for a moment and continued, "By the way, you guys..."
But then he stopped.
"It's nothing."
"How strange!" Both of them glanced at him and walked away.
Watching their figures, with one tall and one short, he suddenly felt a sense of disharmony.
In fact, he didn't finish his sentence: Isn't Bell Tong now the past Jocelyn York?
Growing up in a single-parent family with only a father, without the delicacy of a girl, but with the roughness of a boy.
Perhaps, they were what people called "the same kind."
But for Jocelyn, all of that was in the past.
He was just curious because he still didn't understand what caused the tomboy Jocelyn York to undergo such a dramatic transformation overnight.
