(438) End of the World 1
update icon Updated at 2026/2/28 5:00:03

438,

His hand gently rested on the railing as the young man gazed into the distant horizon.

On this great sea route, its endpoint was the edge of the world.

The young man had persevered relentlessly all this time.

Enduring the bitterness that ordinary people could not comprehend, he had finally made it to today.

As the target grew closer, his mood became more and more surreal.

It seemed as if after expending a lifetime of effort, all he could obtain in the end was an illusory fantasy.

"Is the end of the world truly ahead... the future of Attersass?"

Excitement and unease mixed within him as the young man couldn't help but ask into the vast sea ahead.

"Of course, this is the end."

Two great explorers, the professor and the young man, appeared once again.

This time, the two of them would set off towards the edge of the world.

Piloting the Cyclone, the continent's most powerful long-range ship, they set off towards the future known as Attersass.

With its powerful propulsion engine, the Cyclone could forcefully push forward even on calm seas, maintaining the utmost strength of one push per second.

Like a Cyclone on the sea, it surged forward ignoring everything in its path.

Everything went smoothly with the help of the seawater, as the bow easily pushed forward.

However, as the professor and the young man exchanged glances, raindrops suddenly fell from the sky.

Looking up, the professor saw that the clear sky had been replaced by a dark cloud.

The black cloud swiftly approached, covering the entire sky and turning the vast ocean into a pitch-black world.

"What... what's happening..."

Thick darkness enveloped the Cyclone, and only faint light managed to pierce through the black cloud, illuminating the sea ahead.

Just as the young man was still troubled, the professor suddenly shouted.

"Prepare!! Get ready now!!"

Though his shout echoed throughout the ship, all the crew members remained frozen, just staring at the professor who had suddenly raised his voice.

"What are you all waiting for!! Move!! The end of the world is right ahead!!"

Suddenly, a powerful impact was felt.

Breaking the silence, the impact from below sent the entire ship soaring into the sky.

The bow shot up from below and broke through the top of the clouds.

At that moment, all the crew, even the professor and the young man, knew.

This might be their last time seeing the sun that symbolizes hope.

Subsequently, the ship began to descend, back under the black cloud, hurtling towards the pitch-black sea below.

Meanwhile, the professor standing on the ship witnessed the truth of this vast sea.

In the hellish sea area where countless shipwrecks floated, a dark figure emerged in the deep sea.

Huge, from high in the air looking down at the fallen Cyclone, one could just about glimpse this mysterious sea monster.

A deep sea behemoth the size of a continent, was emerging menacingly beneath the fallen ship.

Numerous gigantic tentacles surfaced, and with every slap on the sea, endless huge waves were churned up.

The end of the world had instantaneously become an unattainable existence.

But still, despite this nightmare, the young man remained unaffected, still looking ahead at the sea, the horizon's edge.

He saw it, he saw it, and then shouted aloud, rousing the already despairing professor.

"There! It's really there!!"

As the ship rapidly descended, the professor still saw it. In that moment, he saw the most unimaginable sight in the world.

At the end of the world, everything breaks on that final line.

At the edge of the sea, a waterfall without boundaries is formed.

That is the end of the world, the lost future of Attersass, and at the same time, it is the final destination of the Professor's life.

Without hesitation, the Professor shouted before Cyclone plunged into the deep sea.

"Hold on tight!!!"

The sound echoed throughout the ship, and even as the Cyclone sank deep into the sea, this voice continued to resonate in the minds of everyone.

Hold on tight, the end of the dream is just ahead.

This is the last effort born out of all the crew's determination to survive.
