Hmm, the phone in my pocket vibrated for a moment. Quietly, I took out the phone and glanced at the message displayed on it. "The prey has appeared... They've left the classroom... Heading towards the broadcast room... You better hurry, or else it'll be hard to catch them," it said. There was no name attached to the message, just a title that read, "How will the prey die? I'm super excited!" followed by a string of strange characters.

"Jie..." My gaze involuntarily turned towards him, and I couldn't help but call him affectionately. I wanted to keep looking at him, always and forever. Even if the world I relied on was destroyed, it wouldn't matter as long as Jie was by my side, as long as I could see him every moment. That would be enough for me.

"Zhiye?" Perhaps I was too enraptured, caught by Jie's attention. He had a puzzled expression on his face, as if asking, "Is there something on my face?" He looked so adorable.

My hand acted on its own, my face burning, and my heart felt like it was burning with flames. Perhaps only Jie could melt me, could cool me down. When my hand was about to touch Jie's cheek, I regained control and pulled back my hand. I didn't want... I didn't want Jie to be disgusted with me, but I really wanted to touch his face, and his lips, I really wanted to kiss...

"Zhiye-chan, are you giving up? If you don't hurry, you'll miss a great opportunity. And who knows..." The other person sent me another message. It seemed like there was no time to waste, and I felt reluctant. But in order to accomplish that task, I had no choice but to stand up.

"Where is Zhiye going?" Jie asked me.

"I have some things to take care of, I'll be back soon," I replied with a smile.

"Oh, by the way, this is the bento I prepared..." I placed the lovingly prepared bento on Jie's desk. I woke up early to prepare it, tasting it countless times until I thought it was perfect. As long as Jie liked it, no matter how much time and effort it took, it didn't matter.

"Zhiye... didn't I say not to make it so extravagant?" Jie didn't seem happy for some reason. Was it not good enough?

"Is it not good?" I asked, feeling a bit disappointed.

"It's too much," came the unexpected reply.

"Jie... don't you like it? Then I..." It hurt to hear Jie say that.

"It's not... For anyone, it's not as luxuriant as a gourmet meal, and the presentation is simple, but... it's something that money can't buy. So... Zhiye, I'm not saying that I don't like it, but I just don't want you to... work so hard. Maybe something simpler would be better, of course I'm not saying that... the bento you made isn't good..." Jie was concerned about me, not disgusted by the food I made.

Seeing him look somewhat flustered, I couldn't help but cover my mouth and chuckle softly.

"Zhiye, did you hear what I said?"

"Mhmm..."

"In that case, don't make it so extravagant anymore."

"Mhmm." Although I agreed with my mouth, I didn't think I would actually do that.

Because making a bento for Jie was a truly happy thing. Just seeing Jie eat the bento I made... that alone made me incredibly happy.

Happiness melted like sugar, but... but, I still couldn't suppress that impulse, that desire to possess Jie. I didn't want him to leave my sight, I especially didn't want to see him with other girls.

"...Too slow, Zhiye-chan. Forget it... I'll help you myself."

"No need..." I quickly replied with three words and put the phone back in my pocket.

Just when I felt like my heart was turning to ashes, Jie woke up, only to lose his memories. No one could wake his memories up, because he belonged only to me.
