Chapter 54: Energy Form

Although there is quite a bit of energy floating around, it didn't really put any pressure on us. After all, it's just energy, not ghosts.

Moreover, even if they were ghosts, we wouldn't be afraid. We've been through abysses before, why would we be scared of ghosts? The answer is obviously no.

Although I heard that cute girls have a high probability of making dark dishes, with our joint efforts and mutual help, we still managed to prepare dinner. Although a few times the things in the pot almost turned into charcoal, we managed to notice in time and rescue the situation.

So, after having traveled across the seas for so long, and walked so far, we finally could enjoy a hot meal.

Well, the main reason was to avoid the annoying gazes, so we didn't eat in the town where Fran and the others bought swimsuits. Therefore, we punished ourselves by cooking the dinner.

"By the way, we just walked through the woods to reach this town, but where do we go from here?"

I asked while we were eating.

"This is a town, right? There should be roads leading out of here, right?"

Fran said casually.

"No, I just checked. This village has absolutely no roads at all. Even the village itself has dirt roads, with the forest on one side, and no signs of people coming and going."

"My goodness, the way you say it, it's a bit creepy."

Mary remarked.

"No traces of people entering or leaving? Could it be that the village is populated by ghosts?"

"I think the answer might lie with those energy entities."

It was Blanche who spoke up.

"Even in our elven territory, if energy doesn't have a specific anchor, it won't gather and float in the air as a cohesive entity. And now, the only anomaly we can see is this, so the problem likely stems from them."

"But even if that's the case, what can we do?"

Fran shrugged.

"If those are energy entities, not ghosts. With ghosts, we might be able to ask something, but if it's just energy entities, we can't communicate with them at all."

"We can't talk to them, but we can observe them to find out something. For example, we can follow those energy entities to discover their source, or where they might be going."

"Blanche is right, that is indeed a method, but...currently, only my drone and Black Domy can see those energy entities."

I looked at my drone beside me and said.

"How should we distribute the action plan then?"

"I can see them too, actually."

Blanche smiled and waved her hand, her eyes suddenly turning golden.

"It's just a bit tiring."

"That's actually a convenient ability..."

I had just finished speaking when a drone hovering outside the village suddenly discovered that several energy entities floating above the village seemed to be pulled by something, and they suddenly accelerated in the same direction and rushed out!

"Everyone, those energy entities are moving!"

"Huh?"

After hearing my words, everyone was stunned for a moment, but quickly reacted and walked quickly towards the direction of the door.

However, halfway there, I suddenly felt the whole house shake!

"What's going on..."

I quickly glanced at the drone that was still on standby, and to my surprise, the energy entities that were originally floating in the air started to gather in one place and merge into a single point.

What was this? Was it going to explode?

"I think we should leave this village quickly! I have a feeling something bad is about to happen!"

I shouted to the others.

They had just arrived at the door and theoretically wouldn't be able to see the energy entities, but at that moment they all looked towards the sky.

As I walked to the door and looked, I too was stunned.

Those energy entities had gathered into a huge sphere in the air and were now visible to the naked eye.

This wasn't a magical conjuration, but a form of energy. Although I didn't know how it gathered, the fact that this condensed energy would surely lead to something even more terrifying than an explosion was certain.

"Why are you all standing here! Quickly move away from that sphere of light!"

I shouted loudly and started running outside. The others heard my words and immediately joined in the escape, as no matter whether it was good or bad, seeing such a thing made them naturally want to keep their distance.

"What is this thing!"

Mary said as she ran.

"Who knows!"

Before I could finish, the sphere of light suddenly expanded in place, enveloping the entire village.

We were also surrounded by the sphere of light, and as we were about to rush out in alarm, we realized the sphere of light had begun to shrink rapidly.

And as we gathered our senses, the sphere of light had shrunk back to its original size, slowly rising into the sky.

"We... are we okay?"

We looked at each other, each of us maintaining the posture of escaping we had a moment ago.

However, something even more frightening happened.

"Where's the house?"

Mary pointed around.

"All the houses are gone!"

Indeed, after the sphere of light shrank, all the houses around seemed to have disappeared as though they had been sucked into a fourth-dimensional pocket, leaving no trace behind, not even a mark on the ground.

Finally, the question that had been troubling me before had an answer. The reason why this village looked strange was not due to anything else, but because these buildings seemed not to have been constructed directly but placed there.

Just like now, taken away directly.

"So, those energy entities are teleportation devices?"

Mary looked at me.

"This is your expertise, right? What exactly is it?"

"Even if you ask me, I can't answer!"

I looked at the sphere of light in the sky, then back at Mary.

"Do you think I know everything? I'm not an encyclopedia!"

"This is troublesome. It took away our place to sleep at night! What should we do tonight? Should we try to bring it down?"

With that, Fran took out her wand.

"Don't joke around! If you attack it and it explodes, who knows the extent of the damage! That condensed form of energy, it's like a large-scale bomb. If it's stable, it's fine. But if it's unstable, a little external pressure and it would explode."

"Damn it!"

Fran muttered in dissatisfaction.

"So, what do we do?"

"It seems that this sphere of light can only take objects, not people. But when we arrived, there was no one inside the village, indicating that it should have brought the entire village to this location."

"So?"

"So if we want to find out something, we should just follow it."

As soon as the words fell, the sphere of light indeed started to accelerate slowly, moving towards a direction.

"Alright, let's follow it!"
