Perspective: Fir

"So, Beryl and Mishua said they'd come over in a few days, and they haven't arrived yet?"

Even though Ms. Mary contacted Beryl two days ago, it seems that the other party is still dragging their feet and hasn't shown up at the school yet.

Meanwhile, I am still dealing with headaches from the other two on my end, Sally and Ben, one always staying at the church, and the other constantly at home playing chess with himself.

It's basically like the late stages of autism.

There's hardly any time to think about this now. The best course of action is to go to the church and ask Yabber for help. However, since coming back from the Abyss, Yabber has been busy at the church and has never come to the school. Even though I've messaged her, I haven't received a reply.

I have no choice. The priority now is to ask Yabber to help get Sally to come to class. After all, if she doesn't open the church, I have no way to get in.

"They're probably just preparing something. Their expressions show how eager they are to come, so it shouldn't be a problem," Ms. Mary responded while flipping through something.

"The good news is I just received a message from the Adams family this morning, and Kenan has agreed to join this event, although he still won't come to class during this time."

"What's his reason for participating?"

"He said he wants to draw dragons. He uses his drawings to summon objects, and the more detailed the drawing, the stronger the summoned object, although it also consumes more energy. But being able to summon a dragon is very powerful. Driven by family pressure and his own curiosity, he agreed to join."

"That's a good thing, I suppose. If he had no interest at all, we'd just be burdened with him."

I smiled wryly and glanced at Oyado beside me.

"Alright, it's time for us to go. Dale said he could take us to the church this afternoon, and it's almost time now."

"Huh?"

Ms. Mary looked at me curiously and asked, "What about Aliyah? Isn't she always by your side?"

"First, she has her own class to attend to. Second, someone tainted with wolf blood entering the church might be seen as a heretic and locked up. It's better to let her stay here."

"She's actually an Undead Holy Angel~"

Bejis whispered from the side.

"Tch, Dark Elf Queen, what are you saying? Besides, I usually use light magic instead of Necromancy. They probably won't sense anything, hopefully."

"Then, good luck to you~"

Seeing Bejis' expression, I feel like hitting her.

But... I can't win.

I don't know what Dale has been busy with these days; he looks like he just paid a visit to a mountain cave. He said he even took a quick bath, but I can't imagine what he looked like before.

I don't want to know.

However, just by looking at the appearance of the airship he arrived in, I can tell his area of research.

This guy is developing a space battleship. The once simple airship is now equipped with all sorts of fighter jets, laser cannons, and various weapons, including a giant railgun at the front, making it more like a battleship capable of interstellar combat.

"Is your spaceship attempting a grand feat of challenging one person to conquer an entire country?"

I looked at Dale, who had set the ship to autopilot and was now studying the blueprints.

"It's not that simple. Unless automated mech soldiers can be mass-produced, a single warship will only be taken down by those hidden deep within the empire."

"Deep within?"

I became curious.

"Have you discovered something?"

"Well, I sensed strange energy sources underground in the imperial capital of the Witte Empire, so I deployed some stealth airships and found similar sources beneath several imperial locations, while the smaller kingdoms had none or very few."

"But when 'Snake Eye' caused trouble before, why didn't these people come out?"

"Well, isn't it obvious?"

Dale chuckled.

"Think about it, even if they were to take action, which country would do it? These are their trump cards, and it's not wise to reveal them easily. It's in their best interest for us to help them resist Snake Eye, especially since we don't seem to belong to any particular country. So, it's more suitable for us to handle this."

"Well, I guess you have a point."

I shrugged.

"After all, we are willing too, and we stand to gain more."

"That's true."

Just as we finished speaking, we began our descent.

Looking out the window, a large expanse of white buildings belonging to the Church was clearly visible below.

Only the territory of the organization that did not belong to any country, and only the Church of Light could occupy such vast land.

"Welcome to the headquarters of the Church of Light. Please state your name and the purpose of your visit."

A communication signal from the Church came through the airship's communication device. I sighed and walked forward.

"Hello, my name is Lin Fir, and I'm here to meet Yabber."

There was a brief silence on the other end of the line before a voice responded.

"I see. Please wait a moment."

This was followed by a long wait, and we had no idea what they were doing.

"But letting us enter their airspace so confidently is not just for show," Dale observed, looking at the screen.

"There are three electromagnetic cannons and seventeen magic cannons aimed at us below. Personally, I don't think we stand much of a chance if they decide to attack."

"Hey, hey, why assume that it will come to a fight? There's no need for that."

"Who knows, maybe one day."

That's true.

"But how does it feel to have weapons you created aimed at you? Those electromagnetic cannons are your handiwork, right?"

"It's no big deal. I'm actually quite happy," Dale said, pushing his glasses up.

"You think I'd let my own weapons harm me?"

"Hey, hey, you..."

Really, Dale was something else!

"Verification complete. Please land at docking bay number fourteen," the voice from the communication system instructed.

"I guess we're good to go now," I said with a smile.
