Upon returning to the Shuowang Empire, Iris settled Merice in the medical room and had Aria examine Merice's condition. After a thorough examination, Aria reported to Iris, "Your Majesty, there is a gentle energy within Merice's body, slowly nourishing her organs. She will awaken soon."
Iris nodded and instructed Aria, "If Merice wakes up, send someone to notify me."
"Yes, Your Majesty," Aria respectfully replied.
Iris walked out of the medical room and went to her own palace. She took off her top and left only her undergarments. Holding the Dragonwood Jade Pendant between her thumb and forefinger, Iris gently shook it at the connection between her back and blood wings. Faint bluish mist emerged from the Dragonwood Jade Pendant and seeped into the crack between her blood wings and back, repairing the damage.
"Vampire girl, don't try to push your limits next time. If I didn't use the Black Flame to slow down the blood wing's deterioration, your blood wings would have broken from the root," Chaos's voice echoed in Iris's mind, deep and magnetic.
"Uh..." Iris nodded and said, "Thank you."
"Is that all?" Chaos asked.
Iris said, "What else do you want me to say? Like, thank you for saving my blood wings? And by the way, you also saved Merice? Even if my blood wings were completely destroyed, I can still fly using Black Thorn..."
"That's enough," Chaos impatiently interrupted Iris's rambling, his tone slightly angry. "I will leave someday, and then how will you fly? Will you try to fly with one foot on the other?"
Iris was taken aback for a moment, then lowered her head and remained silent for a while before speaking, "Chaos, where will you go?"
"Who knows," Chaos replied casually. "Take care of your own body. Who knows what will happen in the future? Maybe I'll stay in a corner of the world, or maybe I'll return to my homeland..."
"I... I understand," Iris responded gloomily.
"What? Can't bear to see me leave?" Chaos teased.
"Who, who said I can't bear it!" Iris denied vehemently, but her ears turned slightly pink, looking particularly shy. "Just leave already, so you won't bother me every day..."
"You're really mean, little girl."
Iris hummed and turned her head away, pretending to admire the scenery.
...
Bloodhowl looked at the winged man in front of him with a dark gaze. "What's wrong with your winged men? Why are they so slow, like turtles crawling? It's embarrassing..."
"Reporting to Lord Bloodhowl, we were intercepted by an angel. She stood alone in the sky, releasing a powerful pressure that made it impossible for us to move," the winged man general lied with his eyes wide open. Anyway, Bloodhowl didn't know the truth, so it wouldn't hurt to make up an excuse.
"An angel?" Bloodhowl furrowed his brows and asked, "Where are they? I want to personally tear them to pieces!"
"After intercepting us, she flew towards the northwest direction," the winged man general quickly replied.
"Forget it! Let's go back to the White Stork Empire," Bloodhowl waved his hand and flew towards the White Stork Empire.
After the traces of the Blood Roar were confirmed to have disappeared, General Nannan, the Winged Man, muttered to himself, "Lord Sui Liangfeng is indeed formidable. Whenever there's a problem, he always blames it on the angel. He's never wrong."
Upon returning to the White Stork Empire, Blood Roar found a secluded spot and used his Devastation power to expel the armor-piercing rounds from his body.
"Ding, dong." One by one, the armor-piercing rounds fell from his groin area, causing Blood Roar to involuntarily squeeze his legs and wear an expression of pain on his face.
Blood Roar cursed through gritted teeth, "Damn vampires! One day, I will tear you all apart into mincemeat!"
Then, Blood Roar took out a torn sleeve and carefully sniffed it. Finally, he smelled a very familiar scent and raised his head in astonishment, saying, "Father?!"
Blood Roar brought the sleeve closer to his nose and carefully distinguished that smell. He became more and more certain that it was his father's unique scent. Could it be that the vampire girl was his father?
At this thought, a look of ecstatic joy flashed across Blood Roar's face. Did his father escape from the Abyss? He was filled with excitement and immediately went to the conference room to share the news of his father's escape from the Abyss with his siblings.
A woman named Night Demon was reading human books when she suddenly spoke up, saying, "The Abyss is a place you can only enter, not leave. Father cannot come out unless that ever-changing woman allows it."
"Night Demon is right! Blood Roar, are you hallucinating about father's escape?" a figure with the face of a lion and the body of a winged man, but without a face, spoke.
"No-Face!" Night Demon gave it a cold stare, causing No-Face to shrink its neck and not dare to make a sound.
"If you call me by my real name again, I can't guarantee that I'll be able to endure it," Night Demon warned.
No-Face sheepishly said, "Then I won't call you that, sister."
"Alright, stop arguing," said a dark-skinned man dressed in magnificent robes as he stood up. His voice was as calm as autumn waters of the River of Oblivion.
"Blood Roar, where did you come to the conclusion that father left the Abyss?"
Blood Roar took out the torn sleeve from Iris and said, "I tore this off a vampire girl. It has father's scent on it."
"Illegitimate daughter?" Night Demon murmured, her lips moved but she didn't say anything.
"What do you all think? Could that vampire girl be our father?" Blood Roar speculated with his imagination running wild.
Night Demon: "..."
No-Face: "..."
Black Magic: "..."
The three of them were somewhat speechless towards this foolish brother. Blood Roar scratched his head awkwardly and said, "Uh... I was just joking, hehe..."
"That vampire girl is highly likely to be our father's illegitimate daughter. If we confirm this, we'll keep her by our side to take care of her, and kill the rest," Night Demon said expressionlessly, as if she were talking about something extremely easy.
"I think it's unlikely that the vampire girl is our father's illegitimate daughter. I suspect that there might be something of our father's on her, or our father may have left something inside her that we can find and control..." Black Magic said.
"That's a possibility," Night Demon closed her book. "Once the Alliance Army is ready, we will attack the vampires."
"By the way, what does that vampire girl look like? I want to go and capture her when the time comes," Night Demon looked at Blood Roar.
Bloody Roar scratched his head, not wanting to reveal his embarrassed state. Besides, he didn't really care about the appearance of the other person. So he vaguely said, "She looks pretty, just too skinny. Her chest is slightly protruding, but if you round it off, it's pretty much nonexistent. Her silver hair is mixed with a few strands of black hair."
Night Demon nodded, quite interested in the girl described by Bloody Roar.
...
Order seemed to have gotten lost in the snowy mountains. She had no choice but to keep flying forward, finding a way to leave the mountains.
