Chapter 354: Angel of Dawnlight
update icon Updated at 2025/12/5 9:10:13

Davis looked out into the endless darkness surrounding him and couldn't help but mutter to himself, "Is this the world after death?"

Suddenly, he heard a series of banging sounds coming from all around him. He took a step towards the source of the noise.

Though everything around him was covered in darkness, it didn't hinder his hearing. He could clearly hear the banging sound. After walking for what felt like a long time, Davis saw a light ahead. The light grew closer and closer.

He quickened his pace, and the light grew bigger until it formed into the shape of a person. The figure slowly rose, shining like the sun and dispersing the darkness around them.

Davis looked up and covered his eyes with his hand, peering through his fingers at the figure's face.

A familiar face appeared before him, one that he knew all too well. Davis' breath caught in his throat.

The person in front of him was none other than himself.

The airborne Davis had golden eyes and hair, a sturdy and muscular build, and a gentle smile on his face that made him look warm and friendly.

A pair of translucent white wings, as pure as jade, grew from his back. He wore magnificent silver-gray armor and carried a longsword interwoven with thunder and fire at his waist. He exuded a strong divine presence.

At this moment, Davis seemed like a god of war descending from heaven to earth.

The airborne Davis descended slowly and stood before Davis.

"Who are you?" Davis's eyes were filled with confusion. He wanted to ask why the other person looked like him.

"Because I am you. My name is Uriel, a member of the angelic race and the ninth-ranked Celestial Angel. Your memories will resurface when you awaken. Now, dispel the darkness in your realm of consciousness." With that, Uriel turned into a stream of light and entered Davis's forehead.

In a daze, everything about Davis transformed into Uriel's appearance, including his armor, weapon, even his hairstyle and clothes.

Relying on instinct, Davis unleashed a powerful force of lightning and fire, dissipating the darkness in his realm of consciousness.

He slowly opened his eyes, and the scenery before him flashed by. He found himself back on the battlefield, filled with the smell of blood.

A surge of past memories rushed over him like a tidal wave, fully restoring Davis's memories. He remembered his position and responsibilities.

He was Uriel, the ninth-ranked Celestial Angel.

Uriel pulled out the arrows lodged in his body, stood up, and looked at the bodies of his fallen comrades all around him, his face filled with intense grief.

"I promised that I would bring you all home! And I will keep that promise!"

"Ah..." an angry roar erupted from his mouth.

The members of the Winged Man squad halted their steps. "What's happening? Was that a human roar? Could it be that we didn't kill them all?"

The captain of the Winged Man squadron furrowed his brows, feeling a sense of confusion. "Could it be that there are wild beasts trying to claim the human bodies?"

"No! That roar was without a doubt from the leader of those knights. No mistake about it! You guys stay here and kill the leader. The rest continue with the plan." With a cold hum, Winged Man took the lead and charged towards the source of the sound.

Meanwhile, Uriel's figure appeared in the air, his eyes flashing with a cold light. "No need to bother. I'm here."

"How is it possible that you're still alive?!" Winged Man's face was filled with shock. He couldn't believe that Davis hadn't died, and his heart was suddenly overwhelmed with astonishment.

And how did his eyes turn golden? How did his tattered armor turn into splendid silver-gray plate armor? Most shocking of all, how could a human have wings on their back?

"The greater the adversity, the greater the fortune that awaits. Now, let me send you on your way," Yulier said as he drew his sword, Lightning and Fire intertwining on its blade. This sword was wrapped in thunder and flames, sharp and shining with a cold light, hence its name, Raiho Sword.

"Send me on my way? Although I don't know how you ended up like this, I can kill you once, I can kill you a second time!" Yilan said confidently. He immediately commanded dozens of soldiers to surround Yulier, while he prepared his bow and arrows.

Yulier wielded his Raiho Sword, sweeping it in all directions. Thunder and flames intertwined, creating a magnificent curtain of swords. Wherever the curtain passed, there were only the cries and screams of the enemies.

The corpses of dozens of Winged Man soldiers fell from the sky, crashing to the ground and creating deep holes.

Yilan took the opportunity to release his bowstring; his fingers were surrounded by purplish-black thunder. An arrow shot out.

"Whoosh..." The lightning arrow shot straight toward Yulier's throat with incredible speed, reaching him in the blink of an eye.

But at the critical moment, Yulier suddenly disappeared from the original spot.

"Boom..." The lightning arrow collided with the ground, instantly exploding, filling the surroundings with smoke, devouring everything.

Yulier's voice came from behind Yilan, "Is this the only move you have? Or is it that you can only make your soldiers die while taking advantage of the chaos to launch a sneak attack?"

With that, Yulier's Raiho Sword pierced through Yilan's chest.

"Ah..." Yilan screamed in pain, his body collapsed weakly, blood flowing from the corner of his mouth, staining the ground red.

Yulier pulled out the sword, and drops of blood from the blade fell to the ground.

"I said, today you must die!"

After saying that, he turned around, wielding his sword and rushing into the Wing Camp. Along the way, every Winged Man soldier he encountered became a soul under his sword, unable to resist. With a swing of his sword, blood would surely splash three feet.

After killing all the Winged Man soldiers, he single-handedly slaughtered the Alliance Army from behind.

He was unstoppable on his way, encountering no obstacles. Along the way, anyone, no matter who, would turn into ashes under his Raiho Sword.

The rear of the Alliance Army was filled with flashes of thunder and rising flames, screams and cries incessantly filling the air, blood splattering, staining the entire passage with a bloody color. The nauseating smell of blood filled the nostrils and made one's stomach churn, but what was even more terrifying was the sword in Yulier's hand.

Blood splattered everywhere, and the pungent smell of blood filled the air, making one's stomach churn.

With Yulier's brutal killings in the rear, the Crescent Empire's army began to advance, while the Alliance Army retreated in defeat, quickly disintegrating.

Meanwhile, Tadefin, who was fighting the Golden Bimong Beast, couldn't help but laugh upon hearing the cries and wails in his ears. "Who is this? So powerful, causing chaos in the Ruined Land barbarians' rear with just one person."

Tadefin severed the head of the Golden Bimong Beast with a single shot. "Finally finished clearing these Bimong Beasts."

Immediately after, Tadefin rushed into the enemy ranks, wielding his hook sickle spear, constantly reaping lives.

This battle lasted for a day and a night until the next morning, when the Ruined Land Alliance Army was completely annihilated.

Yulier burned the bodies of the knights and put the ashes into an urn, then labeled each urn with the corresponding names. "I will take you all back home," he promised, as Davis had said.

Tadefin saw a guy with angel wings on his back storing an urn in the storage space, and couldn't help but ask, "Which angel are you?"

Yuliaer didn't turn around but continued collecting the ashes. "I am Yuliaer, also known as Davis, the ninth-ranked divine general. I didn't expect that Your Majesty Cangyue is the eighth-ranked Steel Angel of the divine general sequence."

"Heh heh." Tadefin smiled faintly. "I only awakened when I was on the verge of death. I assume you did too, Yuliaer."

"Yes," Yuliaer nodded.

"Welcome back, Angel of Dawn - Yuliaer. The Mist Angel sisters and the Healing Angel are all in the city. The Slaughter Angel Sera went to search for clues about His Majesty. The Martial Angel and the Wise Angel are in the Crimson Empire," Tadefin informed Yuliaer of their whereabouts.

Yuliaer nodded slightly and said, "If we were to attack the White Stork Empire, have Angela let me know. For now, I'll go find someone."

"Don't go to the Sun-Moon Empire; there, you'll find the Death Demon Qizhou, the Hunting Demon Shizhi, and the Doll Demon Modi."

"I understand," Yuliaer replied. "I'll leave now, goodbye."

"Goodbye," Tadefin nodded.

Yuliaer spread his wings and flew into the distance, disappearing from sight.

"That kid..." Tadefin watched Yuliaer's departing figure and shook his head.

...

Yi Yinchuan received news of the complete annihilation of a hundred thousand alliance troops and couldn't help but freeze. He couldn't believe his ears and muttered, "How is this possible?"

Not only did it not lead to a falling out between the Sun-Moon Empire and the Crescent Empire, they also lost a hundred thousand alliance troops. They truly lost both the wife and the soldiers.

Moreover, the most important thing was that a new angel suddenly awakened.

Yi Yinchuan fell into contemplation for a while.

Yi Yinchuan held a crystal in his hand, looking at it. After a long silence, he finally sighed.

From now on, they could only hold their ground; otherwise, accidents were likely to occur.
