Chapter 141: Merice's Crying

More and more blood was flowing from Iris' neck, staining her white dress red.

Her vision began to blur, and darkness enveloped her. Iris felt her consciousness becoming hazy. "Gurgling~~~~~" A muffled sound came from her throat. After a moment, Iris fell into a coma due to excessive blood loss.

Lilia crouched down and pulled out the silver needle, and the speed at which the blood was flowing gradually slowed.

"I thought you would fulfill your duty as the Princess of the Blood, but instead, you used this dark red edge to kill my mother. Everything you have done in the past three years was a show put on for me just to gain my trust. After I finish my mother's funeral, it will be your death sentence." Lilia spoke to the unconscious Iris.

"Take Iris into the dungeon." Lilia's words were cold and indifferent, as if Iris was not her daughter.

"Yes, Dear Queen." Two shadow guards walked over and lifted Iris, ready to leave.

"Wait!" Lilia suddenly stopped the two shadow guards. "I changed my mind. Send her to the water dungeon. First use a silver weapon to make as many cuts as possible on her body. Then add salt to the water dungeon until the salt is no longer soluble in water. Otherwise, you two will take her head to come here." Lilia handed two silver knives to the two guards.

"Yes, Dear Queen." The two shadow guards carried Iris away and sent her to the water dungeon.

"Dear Queen is too harsh on the Princess! Use a silver weapon to make cuts on the Princess, and then soak her in saltwater. Just thinking about it it has made me shudder." One shadow guard said.

"Sigh~" Another shadow guard sighed, "You just became the shadow guard not long ago, so you don't understand Dear Queen yet. Dear Queen absolutely cannot tolerate anyone offending her mother, the Queen Dowager. Now that the Princess has killed the Queen Dowager, and the evidence is conclusive. Not killing the Princess on the spot is already nostalgia for the past."

"But if the Princess dies, wouldn't the blood clan have no heir?" The young shadow guard said worriedly.

"Don't worry about this. The county princess can also be the heir. Besides, today's affair cannot be leaked, not just our conversation, but also the fact that the Princess conspired to kill Queen Dowager. Otherwise, we will both lose our heads."

“Yes.”

The two men placed Iris gently on the ground. "Sorry, Dear Princess." They then took out silver knives and began to make cuts on Iris's body.

They did not go too far, only making about 20 cuts on her arms and legs.

Blood kept flowing, and soon Iris' fair limbs were covered in blood, but she was in a deep coma and did not feel any pain.

The two shadow guards put the silver weapons back in their sheaths, then used forbidden magic to bind Iris. They then opened the water gate and let the water flow until it reached Iris' chest. They poured bucket after bucket of salt into the water, and finally the salt was no longer soluble in the water.

...

At night, Mavis walked slowly towards the castle with White Sun.

"Is White Sun full?" Mavis asked with a smile.

"Mm-hmm." White Sun nodded contentedly.

"The taste of the white leaf bird is indeed good. No wonder you like it so much." Mavis touched White Sun's round head.

"Call Iris tomorrow morning. We'll go to catch some white leaf birds together and let you have your fill."

"Hehe, thank you, Aunt."

Soon, Mavis saw white flowers hanging on the castle. Her aunt was dressed in white, mourning with grief. In front of the castle gate was an ice coffin, with her grandmother lying inside.

"Aunt, I was only out for a day. How did my grandmother become like this?" Tears streamed down Mavis' face.

"Iris killed her." Lilia said.

"Iris? That's impossible, how could Iris do such a thing?" Mavis looked incredulous.

"Sigh~" Lilia sighed. "My mother was killed by this black and red edge. At first, I didn't believe it. I took this thing out of my mother's body with my blood, and this black and red edge emits Iris's magic aura. I believe you know it better than anyone." Lilia stood up and handed the black and red blade to Mavis.

Mavis could clearly feel the magic aura emanating from Iris's black and red edges. Even if she wanted to defend Iris, she had no reason to do so.

White Sun, who was by her side, was struck suddenly. "How could Mom kill Grandma? Grandma was good to Mom and to me. Mom had no reason to kill her."

"What about Iris?" Mavis asked.

"I have locked her up in the water dungeon, and I will deal with her myself," Lilia said, her eyes showing a hint of ferocity.

"Take a good look at your grandmother for the last time."

"Okay." Like Lilia, Mavis wore white, draped in mourning, and knelt in front of the ice coffin, her face pressed tightly against it as tears fell from her eyes.

"Grandma...did Mom really kill you?" White Sun asked, trembling with fear.

"Yes, although you are Iris's summoned beast, I will not put the blame on you. I only hope that you do not do anything foolish, or else I will punish you." Lilia said sternly.

"I understand, Grandma." White Sun then sadly returned to the room.

"Is Mom stupid? Why didn't she run away after killing Grandma and instead stayed in the room to practice Summoning System?" White Sun couldn't figure it out. He didn't believe Iris was so foolish to do something bad and not know to run away. (Summoned beast can sense its master practicing Summoning System.)

"But if I tell Grandma these things, she may not believe me. She would probably think I'm trying to defend Mom and might act against me in anger."

"Mom had no motive to kill her Grandma, and killing her would not benefit her. She is the heir to the blood clan and will eventually become the Queen of the Blood. There is only one possibility: Mom was framed. When I felt Mom was in meditation while I was eating the white leaf bird, everything makes sense." Although White Sun knew that it was not Mom who did it, there was no proof, and her grandmother would not believe him.

If White Sun did not prove his Mom's innocence, his Mom would certainly die. It was taboo for the blood clan to massacre their own, as her aunt had told her. Lilia also said that no one mustn’t her mother.

White Sun slammed his head into the corner of the table, not knowing how to prove his Mom's innocence.

Recalling her aunt's words, Mom was initially embraced by Lilia as a human, and her human form was her true form. Perhaps Mom had been holding a grudge against Lilia all along.

Murder seemed to be unlikely. After all, Mom's strength was not formidable. Would she use poison to kill Ye Li? Grandma was experienced and would have noticed any signs of illness. How could a fifteen-year-old girl like Mom succeed in killing her?

White Sun's mind was in turmoil, and there seemed to be no motive or means for Mom to have done it. But how did Lilia find something emitting Mom's magic aura in Ye Li's body? How did it get into Ye Li's body? Did Mom have such great skills, or did she intentionally keep something from White Sun?
