10. The Demon King Who Bullies the Weak

Sarah had just been about to get down to business, but unfortunately, the half-hour time limit was up.

Luna and Liliya had come to the bedroom, so Sarah’s good time was basically ruined.

“This brat’s got a tight-lipped mouth. Even after I tortured him, he still wouldn’t tell me where the treasure was hidden. Give me another half hour—no, an hour.”

Sarah was already worked up, and now she’d been left hanging. It felt awful. She wanted to send her teammates away so she could pick up where she and the Little Demon King had left off.

“I told you, there’s no treasure in the castle. Stop tickling me.”

After being tormented by Luna and Sarah one after the other, Luxiu had lost a lot of his swagger. He didn’t dare keep mouthing off, afraid Fox’s tail would make him wish he were dead.

“Come into Mommy’s arms. I’ll protect you.”

Luna had gotten hooked on playing Mommy, coaxing him in a voice full of motherly love.

Of course, Luxiu had no intention of humoring that awful fat woman.

“Sarah, you’re going a little too far.”

Liliya had heard the Little Demon King’s screams earlier. If the elf hadn’t stopped her, the kindhearted girl would’ve rushed in to stop them.

“All right, then. I’ll give him a proper interrogation next time.”

Sarah could tell it wasn’t going to happen, and listlessly put her mage robe back on.

The Little Demon King knew better than to say a word. He silently played the prisoner, but all three women were watching him.

“What are you looking at? Keep it up, and I’ll gouge your eyes out.”

Luxiu felt uncomfortable under their stares and grumbled, though his voice was very quiet.

His timid, hesitant manner was the complete opposite of his earlier arrogance.

“What a well-behaved boy. Let Mommy pat your head.”

Ignoring Luxiu’s protests, Luna went ahead and patted his head.

“I’m checking to see if you’ve hidden any weapons on you. Hands up.”

Unwilling to be outdone, Sarah casually came up with an excuse to feel him up.

“You’re awful…”

The Little Demon King clenched his pearly teeth, cheeks puffed out as he cursed those two lecherous women a thousand times over in his heart.

“Liliya, there’s no one else here, so you don’t have to suppress your womanly nature. Don’t you want to learn about the male body? Once you go home and become the Little Princess, you’ll never get to touch a man for the rest of your life.”

Whether Sarah was following the principle of sharing good fortune or trying to turn the purehearted girl into an accomplice, she wanted Liliya—who was just standing there—to do something too.

“I…”

Ever since she was little, Liliya had been taught not to get close to men, and she’d never crossed that line.

But as she watched the two women cuddling up to the Little Demon King, an eager glint appeared in her eyes despite herself.

Join them. Forget all those rules about keeping her distance from men and just let loose…

“The girl’s shy. She needs a little privacy.”

Luna was the most mature and experienced of them. She saw right through Liliya at a glance.

And so, with a little help from her two older sisters, Liliya got half an hour alone with the Little Demon King too.

“Don’t be afraid of him. This brat’s just an ordinary boy now. Whatever you want to do, he can’t fight back!”

Sarah couldn’t resist stirring things up. Before leaving, she deliberately egged Liliya on.

Once the two tall, mature women had left, only the inexperienced girl and the boy, baring his fangs once more, remained.

“Midget, if you come near me, I’ll kill you and tear you limb from limb…”

Maybe because Liliya didn’t look threatening, the Little Demon King puffed himself up again and threatened her viciously.

“Huh? I’m not like them. I won’t touch you.”

Maybe she’d been frightened, or maybe she was simply too kind. Either way, Liliya behaved herself and made no attempt to lay a hand on him.

“Hmph.”

The Little Demon King said nothing, only glaring fiercely at the girl who shared his hair color.

“My name’s Liliya.”

A friendly smile appeared on the girl’s pretty face as she introduced herself.

“Who wants to know your name?”

The little brat wasn’t about to accept the girl’s friendly gesture.

“You’re really handsome.”

Liliya didn’t give up on talking to him. Awkwardly, she tried to start a conversation.

“I’m super scary, you blind little midget.”

Luxiu wasn’t pleased to hear that. He immediately rose onto his tiptoes, trying to look down at her and seem more intimidating.

In reality, the childish gesture only made him look cute.

“Then you’re super scary. I’m sorry I said that.”

Liliya did her best to hold back a laugh and played along.

“Hmph. At least you’ve got some sense. Good. Now you know how scary I am.”

The Little Demon King’s pride was satisfied, and his hostility eased.

It was like a little hedgehog folding away its spines.

“There are all kinds of stories about you in the Kingdom of Kaida. They say you have three heads and six arms, a blue face and fangs, and that you’re cruel and violent…”

Liliya repeated all the rumors she’d heard growing up, and the Little Demon King was delighted.

“Hahahaha! As expected, I’m the strongest, fiercest, and most evil of them all!”

The Little Demon King basked in memories of his past glory, forgetting that right now he was nothing but a weak, pitiful, helpless prisoner.

“Once I’ve regained my strength, I might let you off the hook! Be grateful for my mercy.”

He was pretty good at keeping score, wasn’t he?

“Um, can I ask you something?”

Seeing that the Little Demon King was in a good mood, Liliya gathered the courage to seek answers to some of the questions on her mind.

“Ask quickly while I’m in a good mood!”

The Little Demon King sat on the edge of the bed, his pale little feet swinging.

“Why did you come to the Kingdom of Kaida? This is human territory. You’ve caused my mother—the Queen of Kaida—a lot of trouble.”

The Prideful Demon King had appeared in the Kingdom of Kaida ten years ago and settled in Howling Canyon. He hadn’t expanded his territory or actively invaded human lands, but his identity as a demon had always been a thorn in humanity’s side.

Liliya had grown up hearing stories about the Demon King, and she’d always thought the Prideful Demon King was strange.

Today, at last, she could ask him about it herself.

“I came because I wanted to. If you humans are capable, then drive me out.”

The Little Demon King would never admit that he’d been kicked out of the Demon Realm, which was why he’d come to the Kingdom of Kaida to throw his weight around.

“Then would you please leave? I can convince Sister Xiya and the others to let you go.”

Liliya asked sincerely.

She hoped her mother wouldn’t have to worry about the Demon King anymore. She also didn’t want her teammates to keep tormenting the powerless Demon King.

“Hey, hey, hey! You think I’m your prisoner too, midget? Don’t make me laugh. Once the Red Moon ends, I’ll have my invincible power back!”

The Little Demon King lost his temper at the slightest provocation. He’d become a bully who picked on the weak, and for now, he only dared act this arrogant around timid Liliya.

“No, no, that’s not what I meant. Don’t get upset…”

Liliya wasn’t afraid of the Little Demon King. She just felt that making a boy lose his temper was unbecoming of a lady.

“Just you wait. The Red Moon will be over in a few hours.”

Whether anyone else believed it or not, Luxiu believed it himself.

He had to have something to look forward to. Otherwise, all that remained was despair.
