The moment Yu Ge’s hand touched Saya’s chest, he knew he was done for.
But to Yu Ge’s surprise, Saya didn’t say a word. Blushing, she wriggled free of his arms, put away her weapon, and walked out of the training grounds.
“Uh… so who won?”
Yu Ge was completely baffled. Why couldn’t he keep his hands to himself? This was bad. He’d touched the academy goddess’s chest in front of all these people. Now, not only would every guy in the academy want to kill him, but all the girls would avoid him like he was some kind of pervert.
He was done for. What if Luna was still watching?
At the thought, Yu Ge couldn’t help glancing toward Luna. She was standing in the stands, watching him with a complicated expression, as if lost in thought.
It was over. Completely over. Luna must think he was some creep who’d taken the chance to cop a feel.
“You passed. Report to Class S tomorrow.”
Just as Yu Ge felt all hope leave him, Saya said from ahead of him, without looking back.
From an angle where no one could see her, Saya puffed out her cheeks, her expression dark as she stomped along, fuming inwardly. Why did it have to be him? And in a public place like this, too! She’d planned to put him in Class S, and even after he’d done something like that, she still couldn’t change the fact that he was joining the class. What would the other students think of her now? She was so frustrated.
“Class S?”
Yu Ge froze in place.
“Class S?”
“That guy touched Goddess Saya’s chest and still got into Class S?”
“What the hell? Why?”
“Maybe Goddess Saya wants to marry him after all.”
“I think she’s planning to make his life miserable from now on. Don’t you remember? Goddess Saya’s in the second-year Class S. Students in higher grades can order around students in lower grades from classes with the same designation.”
“Oh, that’s it.”
“That guy’s in for a rough time.”
Saya’s answer caused an uproar among everyone watching. That guy had taken the chance to cop a feel during a fight, yet he’d still gotten into Class S. But after thinking it over, they came to their own conclusion: Saya was playing the long game. She couldn’t punish Yu Ge in front of so many people, so she planned to deal with him slowly later.
Even so, some of the guys were still insanely jealous. Who was Saya, after all? The academy goddess. Her looks, figure, and family background were all top-notch. She was every guy’s dream girl. Just getting to touch her chest once would be worth dying for. As the saying went, die beneath the peonies and you’ll still be a happy ghost—three years of gains, and even a death sentence would be worth it.
“Looks like this guy’s school life won’t be smooth sailing from here on out.”
Xibolai watched Yu Ge standing in the middle of the grounds and narrowed his eyes, teasing him. “It’s not just Saya, the Star Sword Princess, who’s got her eye on him. I’m going to look into his relationship with Luna, too. If he turns out to be a threat to me, then I’m sorry, but I won’t let him have an easy time.”
Luna stared toward Yu Ge, lost in thought. It wasn’t because he’d touched Saya’s chest. Anyone with eyes could tell that, in the moment, Yu Ge had instinctively grabbed Saya to keep her from falling. Sure, he’d given her chest a squeeze afterward, but that could be chalked up to a man’s instincts. What Luna cared about now was whether Yu Ge was the person who’d just saved her life. If he was, she needed to thank him properly and return that magic card.
“Luna, I’d advise you to know your place and stay away from shady strangers. The bride of the Teresias family has to be spotless.”
Xibolai looked at Luna, who was pressing her lips together, lost in thought. He said this with a grin, then strode away, leaving Luna alone where she stood.
“Tch.”
Luna glanced at Xibolai’s retreating figure and clenched both fists. I’m not marrying someone like him. Never.
“Yu Ge, I’ll take you to the dorms now.”
While Yu Ge stood there dazed, Chris, the teacher who’d refereed the fight, came onto the grounds and waved him over, holding up a folder.
“Don’t worry. Saya won’t do anything to you. You meant well, after all.”
Chris walked beside Yu Ge and saw the complicated look on his face, so she kindly tried to reassure him. Little did she know, Yu Ge wasn’t worried about what Saya might do to him. He was worried about what Luna thought of him.
He’d finally met a girl he really liked. He couldn’t let her hate him now.
Yu Ge sighed and looked at his hand. Remembering the feel of Saya’s chest, he couldn’t help thinking, So girls’ chests really are that soft.
Maybe he should find a chance to apologize to Saya.
That was what Yu Ge thought. Even if he’d only grabbed her to keep her from falling, it had still caused a lot of trouble for her as a girl. Besides, he’d only been able to study at the academy thanks to her. Otherwise, he never would’ve met Luna.
“Look, that’s the guy who touched Goddess Saya’s chest.”
“Huh? He looks pretty handsome and respectable.”
“You don’t get it. That’s all an act. For all we know, he turns into a demon at night. You’d better watch out.”
“Ew, no way. I’m definitely staying away from him.”
Yu Ge walked beside Chris, crossing the academy plaza toward the faculty dorms. The boys’ dorm assignments had already been made, and since Yu Ge wasn’t officially enrolled, the academy had arranged a room for him in the faculty dormitory.
Hearing the girls around him gossip, Yu Ge covered his face with an expression of utter despair. Just as he’d thought, the story had spread. His reputation at the academy was probably ruined.
“Teacher, can I ask which class Luna is in?”
After hearing that Chris was the homeroom teacher for the first-year Class S, Yu Ge asked without thinking.
“What, got a thing for her?”
Chris glanced at Yu Ge.
“No. She helped me before, and I want to thank her.”
Yu Ge gave an awkward smile.
“Don’t worry. She’s in your class.”
Chris thought fondly, Ah, to be young again. When she’d been a student like these kids, she’d wanted to fall in love, too. But she’d also started to wonder about Yu Ge. Just who was this guy? Saya clearly favored him, and even Luna, the top student in the entrance exams, had a connection to him. Was he just ridiculously popular with girls?
“Got it.”
Yu Ge nodded, keeping his expression calm. Inside, though, he was already over the moon.
Meanwhile, in a corner of the academy…
“Father, didn’t you say you’d arrange for me to get into Class S?”
A boy with short brown hair stood behind the teaching building, talking into a communicator.
“That was the plan, but a transfer student suddenly joined Class S, so everyone below him moved down a place. You were at the bottom, so you got bumped out.”
There was a pause on the other end of the call before he continued.
“When you get right down to it, this is your fault. If your grades had been a little better, you wouldn’t have been the one bumped out. Now it’s up to you to prove yourself. If you don’t, you can forget about becoming head of the family.”
“Damn it.”
After hanging up, the brown-haired boy clenched his fists and muttered to himself, his face twisted with rage.
“Damn transfer student. I’ll make you pay!”
