“Whoa! Big bro, look at us—we’ve gotten so strong!”

Nai looked at the stat window in front of her with satisfaction, then turned to her big brother, whose eyes were still spinning.

“Uh... I guess I got too excited and overdid it.”

Nai giggled sheepishly, went over to You, and gently gathered him into her arms. Then she sat on a fairly smooth rock. Just before lowering herself onto it, she paused.

“Oh, right. Don’t sit on your tail.”

Nai’s race was now fox spirit. It had only been a day or two since her reincarnation, but controlling these once-unfamiliar big ears and tail wasn’t difficult at all. It felt as though she’d known how since birth.

With a thought, her tail perked up on its own. If she lifted her bottom a little and put in some effort, she could even make it sway from side to side.

After playing with it for a moment, she waited until she was fully seated before slowly lowering her tail. Nai watched the whole thing. That soft, fluffy feeling was just the best.

Once seated, she brushed back her hanging black hair and gazed tenderly at You in her arms.

“Hey, big bro, how should we spend our skill points now? Should I pick up Inspect?”

You heard his little sister’s voice, now unbelievably gentle, and replied with his eyes half-lidded.

“Yeah. Better safe than sorry, so let’s get it. I just don’t know if this skill will be as powerful in this other world as it was in GE.”

“Okay!”

Nai opened the skill menu, selected the support skills, and spent 10 skill points to acquire Inspect.

【Inspect Lv. 1】Analyzes and interprets the target the user wishes to examine. Each use consumes 1 MP.

“Huh? The description seems a little different from the one in GE. I thought Inspect could only check the stats of monsters and people. Why does it say ‘target’ now?”

You looked at the description, puzzled.

“I’ll try it. If it says ‘target,’ then this should work too, right?”

Nai used Inspect on a nearby spot. A wisp of black flame appeared around her eyes—that was the skill’s activation effect.

Ding~ 【Ore】Has a chance of containing rare metals. Ding~ 【Discarded Iron Pickaxe】An iron tool made by humans. Ding~ 【Magma】Creatures without the fire element will take continuous damage. Ding~ 【You】Race: young fox spirit... Blood relation: High intimacy value.

“Amazing! It can even identify objects? Isn’t that a feature you only get with Advanced Inspect?”

As Nai listened to the information that kept appearing, she recalled how the skill used to work. Comparing the two, she realized this version was much stronger.

“Huh? It can give you information about objects too? Looks like we got a great deal!”

You looked astonished. He knew how convenient it was to be able to examine objects. If this world worked like GE, they could easily find all kinds of special materials—and even hidden routes and treasure rooms.

“Yeah. Let me see... I’ll put all my remaining skill points into support passives.”

Nai checked her remaining five skill points and decisively chose the passive skills branch under support.

“All right. Let’s go with that.”

You nodded. It had taken them three years to work out this skill build. Before level 300, they should put as many points as possible into passives to maximize their effectiveness.

Why do it that way instead of choosing attack or healing skills?

Most players thought the same way, spending all their skill points on abilities that looked powerful just because they were flashy.

But they overlooked the fact that active skills could be obtained through other means by meeting certain conditions. Passives were different. You usually had to push your body to its limits or face life-or-death situations to acquire them, and the right conditions had to be met as well.

After spending some time sorting through the options, both of them had picked the passives best suited to them.

You chose two passives. The first was 【Judgment Lv. 1】, which speeds up the brain’s processing and improves reaction time. Cost: 2 skill points. The other was a god-tier skill: 【Balance Lv. 1】, which doubles your maximum MP and HP, increasing them evenly whenever you level up. Cost: 2 skill points. (Only usable by those born with balanced HP and MP.)

Nai chose one passive: 【Fear Resistance Lv. 1】, which reduces the psychological pressure the outside world puts on her. Cost: 1 skill point. She had no other reason for choosing it—she just didn’t want to get scared to death the next time she ran into something paranormal.

They kept the remaining 4 skill points in reserve.

“All right, big bro, let’s keep moving. Your little sister is pretty powerful now, hahaha!”

Nai stood up, puffed out her perfectly ordinary chest, and spoke with confidence.

“Okay, okay. Put me down first so I can walk.”

You was at a loss for words. Whenever his little sister got even a little stronger, she started getting cocky. It was an old habit of hers.

“Just let me hold you for one more minute, then I’ll put you down. Come on, let’s go~”

Nai hugged You tightly. She just couldn’t get enough of that fluffy feeling yet—she needed to warm up a little longer.

And so the two foxes crossed the path where the slimes had chased them and reached a somewhat darker passage.

From far down the pitch-black passage came the faint, chilling clang of metal...
