012 Taken Away by the Bunny Girl

“Happy, happy, happy…”

Aileen hummed a little tune as she finally made it home.

She shook the water from her hair, grabbed a towel, and dried herself off.

It was raining, and she’d only just managed to make it back.

She didn’t mind taking a bath, but she really hated the rain.

Actually, cats just don’t like rain.

“Ugh, I’m all wet! This is so annoying! Where’s my little Human? Human, I need to sniff my Human!”

Aileen scampered over to the bedroom to check. Nobody.

“Oh! My little Human must be playing with kitty and hiding in the bathroom, right?”

She opened the bathroom door. Still nobody.

The place was tiny. No one in the bedroom, no one in the bathroom, and certainly no one in the living room or kitchen, both of which were in plain view.

Aileen fell silent for a moment. Then she figured it out.

“He must be hiding in the closet! Honestly, Humans are so silly. I found him right away!”

She pulled open the closet.

“Wah!!”

She’d thought she’d scare her Human, but Aileen startled herself instead. Her hair stood on end, and she nearly puffed up like a startled cat.

Because there was nobody in the closet either.

Half convinced this couldn’t be real, Aileen searched the whole place again. She even lifted the toilet lid and opened the washing machine to check, but there was still nobody.

“How could this…”

Aileen slumped to the floor, utterly dejected, her ears drooping back.

“I only wanted to mount my Human, and he ran away from home!!!”

Dejected, broken, dazed…

She stumbled over to the sofa and lay down. Before long, she felt like crying.

I only wanted to mount my Human. Why did he have to run away from home?!

Was Xiumen Control really that unpopular?

Suddenly, Aileen noticed a little note on the coffee table. The words on it had all been cut out of a newspaper and pasted together.

“To the catgirl who keeps a Human.”

“I’ve become aware of your irresponsible behavior.”

“The sin of not knowing how to care for a Human—I shall take it upon myself.”

“—Respectfully, the Human-Thieving Phantom Thieves.”

Aileen: ???

“What the heck? The Human-Thieving Phantom Thieves stole my guy?”

“But what even is the Human-Thieving Phantom Thieves?!”

……

……

The security cameras had blind spots, of course. That was especially true on a sprawling campus like this one. Many of the buildings were so old that wiring them wasn’t practical, so cameras had only been installed at the entrances and exits.

Even worse, some of the cameras in certain areas were fakes—just cameras with no cables.

Nan Yue had noticed that a long time ago.

So getting into someone’s home wasn’t much of a challenge either.

“People can never resist cute things. So how could any beast resist the charm of an adorable bunny girl? Of course they can’t! Catgirls are no exception!”

Where Aileen lived, how many people lived there, and where she went to school—she’d told Nan Yue all of that herself.

Nan Yue had skipped class early and finally made it home. She locked her bedroom door, then tossed the sack onto her bed with a thump.

Whatever was inside the sack seemed to have woken up. It wriggled around, like some giant bug.

“Sniff, sniff…”

Nan Yue untied the sack and let its contents out. Liao Luo’s bewildered face appeared at the opening.

“Heehee, hahaha, hoohoo, ahahaha!!!”

Nan Yue casually pulled the sack away, grabbed Liao Luo, and proceeded to sniff him like crazy.

“You’re just a little Human. What can you even do? You can’t escape the bunny’s grasp. You’re spacing out like this because you want bunny kisses, right, little Human? Nyahaha, hoohoo, heehee…”

Liao Luo: ?

“What the heck?!”

In one of the residential buildings on Lincheng University’s campus, in a spot no detector had noticed…

Nan Yue casually pressed the remote, and music started playing from the CD player.

A powerful beat kicked in. It sounded like a really old song.

“Young man, there’s no need to feel down.”

Humming along to the tune, Nan Yue casually used a thin cord she’d prepared to tie Liao Luo to the bedpost.

“You can’t escape the bunny’s grasp. From now on, you belong to me~~”

Liao Luo: ?

“What the heck?!”

He couldn’t help looking out the window.

Aileen, save me!

I’ve been kidnapped by a bunny girl!

But naturally, Aileen couldn’t hear a thing from where she was.

After the bunny girl had showered him with kisses and cuddles for a good while, the sound of a key turning in the lock came from outside.

Liao Luo whipped his head toward the door.

Great, someone’s home! Maybe they can help?

But Nan Yue calmly pressed the remote, and the music changed.

“Dog, dog, pig, pig…”

Liao Luo was stunned. “So it really is English? But this is obviously elementary-school English!”

Apparently realizing that Nan Yue was studying hard, the person outside didn’t disturb her and soon went into another room.

Nan Yue slowly stuck a strip of black tape over Liao Luo’s mouth.

“Don’t shout. Shh.” She held a finger to Liao Luo’s lips. “You’re scared, aren’t you? But I won’t hurt you. From now on, you’re my Human. I’ll be very, very good to you. We’ll be so happy together.”

She glanced toward the door again. “I’m going to do my homework now. We can play together tonight.”

Liao Luo moved his arms.

Truthfully, he didn’t feel all that strongly about fighting back. Bunny girls were actually pretty cute.

“But you can’t just leave me tied up here! And you can’t tape my mouth shut! Hey! Hey!!”

Sadly, the bunny girl hadn’t evolved the ability to hear people’s thoughts, so naturally she couldn’t hear what Liao Luo was thinking.

She was already bent over her desk, studying hard—and she really was studying, unlike Aileen, who was always on her phone.

“Beastfolk have this much homework too?!” Liao Luo was stunned.

She kept at it until evening. Then she suddenly looked up, her ears twitching upright again and again. She lifted a hand and tossed a blanket over Liao Luo, covering him from head to toe.

Liao Luo: ??

What are you doing?! It’s so stuffy in here!

Then came a knock at the door.

“Yueyue? It’s time for dinner. Stop studying for a while. You’re always keeping us on our toes. You should come out and watch TV or play on the computer once in a while. You can’t spend every waking moment studying.”

“Okay, Mom.” She answered, then casually pushed the door open and went out.

Naturally, even with someone right outside the door, they wouldn’t notice that there was a person on the bed.

By the time she reached the living room, her parents were already there, getting ready for dinner.

Nan Yue picked up her bowl and gave a small bow, her ears swaying back and forth.

“I still have to preview the next lesson, so I’ll eat in my room.”

With that, she went back to her room.

Both of Nan Yue’s parents were rabbits. The couple exchanged a glance, feeling deeply comforted.

Ah, how nice.

Their daughter was such a good kid. All she ever did was study; she never even wanted to go out and play!

Come on, eat more. You need to keep your strength up!
