Mo Qing entered the department store and headed straight for the jewelry store on the left.
She spotted Tang Bao'er from a distance. Tang Bao'er's delicate, pretty face was expressionless. Her black blazer and pencil skirt showed off her shapely figure, while black stockings hugged her long legs. She wore a pair of impossibly high heels, exuding the cool, commanding aura of a mature big sister.
【Mo Qing, the robbers are about to show up. Are you really going in...?】
【Silly Girl, do you think I'm afraid of robbers?】
【...】
System-chan thought Mo Qing was really letting loose. She knew the robbers were coming to hit the jewelry store, and she still had to walk right in and mess around.
Mo Qing wasn't scared in the least. She slowly walked toward Tang Bao'er, ready to say hello.
Crash! The jewelry store's doors were kicked open with a deafening bang. Several burly men stormed inside, all wearing masks and carrying guns. They'd clearly come prepared.
“If you don't wanna die, get the hell down on the floor!”
The customers screamed and scattered in every direction.
“Miss, come with me.” Mo Qing rushed over, grabbed Tang Bao'er's hand, and pulled her under a nearby display case.
Tang Bao'er came to her senses and gave Mo Qing a strange look. Then she realized she didn't know her.
“Do I know you?” Tang Bao'er asked quietly. Even now, she didn't seem to be putting the danger first.
“Nope. I just thought you were pretty, so I didn't want you getting hurt.” Mo Qing sure knew how to sweet-talk someone.
“Thank you.” Tang Bao'er studied Mo Qing. She didn't think Mo Qing was telling the truth. She had to have some kind of motive. Did she know who Tang Bao'er was?
“I’m—I’m Mo Qing. What’s your name, pretty big sis?”
“My name's Tang Bao'er.”
“What a lovely name. I'll call you Sister Bao'er from now on.”
“...”
Tang Bao'er was at a loss for words. She'd never met anyone so familiar with a stranger so quickly.
By now, the robbers had packed up the jewelry and were ready to leave. But the police had surrounded the store, so they decided to take a few hostages and force their way out.
“Shh... They're coming over.” Mo Qing leaned closer to Tang Bao'er. She smelled nice, too—but unlike Little White Flower, her scent carried a hint of danger~
But the story still unfolded just as it had originally. Tang Bao'er was discovered, and Mo Qing was found along with her.
“Get out here, you two bitches! Or I'll blow your heads off!” the robber snarled, rapping the gun's butt against the display case they were hiding under.
Mo Qing and Tang Bao'er obediently came out. Mo Qing clung to Tang Bao'er's arm, trembling 'with fear.'
“Sister Bao'er, do you think they'll kill us?” Mo Qing whispered.
“I don't know.” Tang Bao'er stayed calm. She didn't seem afraid of dying, either.
“Keep moving, or I'll blow your heads off!” The burly men pointed their guns at Tang Bao'er and Mo Qing from behind.
As hostages, Mo Qing and Tang Bao'er cooperated. Five burly men kept their guns trained on them as they led the two out of the jewelry store.
The crowd in the department store had been evacuated. Armed police surrounded the area.
“You're surrounded! Put down your weapons and surrender! Put down your weapons and surrender!” the police shouted through a megaphone.
“Let us leave, or we'll kill them.” The burly man in the black mask fired a shot into the air. Smoke curling from the barrel proved he wasn't bluffing.
Wang Haodong, the male lead, hadn't left. He was crouching on the ground near a billboard outside the jewelry store.
Wang Haodong narrowed his eyes as he watched the robbers. This department store belonged to him, and if anyone died here, it would hurt business. He wasn't planning to stand by and do nothing.
But Wang Haodong had no idea that someone else seemed to be trying to steal his girl again.
“Stay calm. Our people are pulling back now to give you room to escape.” The police seemed to have received some kind of order and began to give ground. But the officers and snipers lying in wait had no intention of leaving.
“Good. You know what's good for you.” The robbers laughed arrogantly, unaware that police snipers had their heads in their sights.
The police withdrew quickly. All the officers in plain sight had pulled back, and the robbers were eager to get away with the hostages.
Wang Haodong narrowed his eyes. He gave up on trying to snatch the hostages back—there were two of them, and he wasn't confident he could save them both. Once the robbers got out of the department store with the hostages, what happened to them wouldn't have much to do with him.
But Mo Qing spotted Wang Haodong. Without a second thought, she pointed in his direction and shouted, “Watch out! There's a sniper!”
The robber jolted in surprise. He spotted a figure behind the billboard and immediately opened fire in that direction.
Shit! Wang Haodong cursed under his breath and hurriedly rolled across the ground, scrambling to dodge the bullets.
“Go!” Mo Qing seized the chance to grab Tang Bao'er and sprint toward the store next door to the jewelry shop.
“You bitch!” The burly men flew into a rage and fired at Mo Qing and Tang Bao'er.
“Look out!” Mo Qing wrapped both arms around Tang Bao'er, shielding her against her chest before throwing them both to the ground.
“Mmm!” Tang Bao'er was pinned beneath Mo Qing, their lips pressed together. She stared up at Mo Qing with wide eyes—the very person she'd assumed had ulterior motives.
On the surface, she was a dazzling woman and the CEO of a corporation. But the horrors of her childhood had left her living in darkness ever since.
She always assumed the worst of people, as if an unmelting block of ice had formed inside her heart. She'd never imagined that someone would risk their life to protect her at a moment this dangerous.
Mo Qing saw Tang Bao'er's startled, flustered expression and was over the moon. She didn't even care that a bullet had wounded her leg. She just flashed Tang Bao'er a sunny smile.
It felt just like jelly.
That kiss just now hadn't been in the original plot. Director Mo was very pleased with her impromptu addition to the scene. The yandere second female lead was already taking the bait, huh?
Mo Qing wondered: if she could make Tang Bao'er fall for her, would she be lucky enough to get the yandere's special little-black-room treatment? She couldn't wait to find out.
