“A computer?” Luo Xiaoxiao still hadn’t caught on when Shen Guang explained.

“You mean the paper girls, right?”

“I—I wasn’t asking you that!” Luo Xiaoxiao said helplessly. She couldn’t tell whether Shen Guang was deliberately dodging the question or was genuinely clueless.

Shen Guang didn’t want to drag the conversation out, either. He raised a hand to cut it off.

“All right, that’s enough about this. Let’s hurry up and get something to eat.”

.......

Once again, the facts proved that Luo Xiaoxiao really was rich.

From the moment he got into that luxurious black sedan to the inside of the restaurant, everything screamed “expensive.”

Shen Guang was usually carefree, and a place like this made him feel thoroughly out of his depth. To him, it was pure torture.

The waiter kept smiling, and elegant music echoed through the room.

Luo Xiaoxiao rested both hands on the table and studied Shen Guang closely.

He didn’t seem used to places like this, even though he’d been here plenty of times before. It looked like he’d changed a lot after losing his memory.

“Shen Guang, are you still living with Lin Qingqian?”

“Huh? You know her?” Shen Guang was a little surprised. He hadn’t expected the two of them to know each other. No wonder Luo Xiaoxiao had looked that way when she saw Lin Qingqian that afternoon.

“You’ve probably forgotten, but she used to be really easy to overlook. I never expected her to grow up so beautiful—or become Student Council president. Looks like Uncle Lin raised a wonderful daughter.”

Luo Xiaoxiao stirred her drink, her eyes fixed on the little whirlpool in the glass.

Shen Guang suddenly realized he might be able to get something out of Luo Xiaoxiao.

He opened his mouth to ask, but Luo Xiaoxiao spoke first.

“Just so we’re clear, I’m not answering any questions about other girls!” She looked up and glared at Shen Guang, her expression growing more displeased. “You’re out to dinner with a girl, and you’re talking about some other girl? How thick can you be?”

After getting chewed out, Shen Guang didn’t even know what to say. Was he supposed to tell her he wasn’t interested in Luo Xiaoxiao?

If he said that out loud, he’d probably be kicked out the very next second.

So, was there anyone out there with a high-EQ way to handle this?

Shen Guang’s thoughts raced, while Luo Xiaoxiao watched him seriously and asked,

“Shen Guang, do you still remember our promise?”

“Promise? What promise?” Shen Guang was completely confused. He’d come to dinner like they’d agreed, so it couldn’t be that.

“The things you said when you confessed to me! You said you only liked me!”

Shen Guang was completely stunned. What on earth had the guy before him said? Confess to whichever girl he liked, then expect no consequences if she turned him down?

Seeing the confusion and disbelief on Shen Guang’s face, Luo Xiaoxiao grew even angrier. She sprang to her feet, puffed out her cheeks, pointed at him, and snapped,

“You! How could you forget something like that?”

“But didn’t you say you rejected me? After that, weren’t we supposed to have nothing to do with each other?”

“B-but you moved on way too fast! It hasn’t even been that long!”

“Wait! Let me clear something up. I didn’t move on. I just don’t feel that way anymore, okay?” Shen Guang couldn’t help explaining. What was she even talking about? He’d moved on? He didn’t like anyone!

“You’re still lying to me! I heard you were chasing after that Yan Qingxue from your class!”

What excuse could he possibly use to wriggle out of this? This was obviously Shen Guang trying to be a player and failing!

Shen Guang, you deserved to die as a sacrificial extra. Honestly, it was only natural!

He couldn’t help looking down on him, even though Shen Guang was already dead.

“Fine. Since you already know, I’ll be honest. Before, I needed a relationship to get my mind off things, but Yan Qingxue rejected me too. So now I don’t want anything to do with romance.” Shen Guang tried to change the subject.

If he let this talk about moving on continue, he’d definitely come off worse. Better to just tell Luo Xiaoxiao how he felt now.

Shen Guang’s expression turned serious, and his whole demeanor shifted a little.

Luo Xiaoxiao was immediately thrown off track.

She stared blankly at Shen Guang, her feelings suddenly hard to put into words.

So Shen Guang had tried to find someone else to forget her because she’d rejected him—only for that girl to reject him too.

All of a sudden, she felt kind of bad for him......

Damn, if Shen Guang knew what Luo Xiaoxiao was thinking, he’d probably burst out laughing.

Talk about thinking highly of yourself. Couldn’t she think a little worse of Shen Guang for once?

“So, you’re still single now?”

“My computer has a wife, if those paper girls count.”

Having gotten the answer she wanted, Luo Xiaoxiao suddenly felt much more at ease.

The waiter came over with the dishes, and Luo Xiaoxiao beamed.

“The food’s here. Hurry up and eat!”

.........

Night covered the sky, and the quiet street held only the sound of car engines.

Shen Guang got out of the car and waved to Luo Xiaoxiao inside.

“All right, thanks for treating me to dinner tonight. That’s one meal I didn’t have to pay for.” Shen Guang said exactly what was on his mind, but Luo Xiaoxiao took it as a sign that he wasn’t used to this.

She rested her chin on the car window, her bright eyes revealing how she felt.

“Shen Guang, you’ve matured a lot. I really like the way you are now, so don’t disappoint me.”

Disappoint her? What could he do that would disappoint her?

Shen Guang was completely confused, but the girl had already rolled up the window and disappeared behind it.

Watching the car drive away, Shen Guang put his hands on his hips and quietly let out a breath of relief.

The streetlight cast his shadow on the ground. Suddenly, a pair of running shoes stepped on it, and a pair of long, pale legs came into full view.

“Hmm? Dinner with Luo Xiaoxiao must’ve been fun, huh?” A familiar, teasing voice sounded from behind him.

Shen Guang turned around without thinking, then was dazzled by her appearance.

Lin Qingqian wore a white tank top, sweat beading across her forehead. Her usually loose black hair was tied up in a high ponytail, and, most importantly, her long, pale legs were on full display. Her tight athletic shorts showed off their perfect shape.

Shen Guang was instantly captivated.

He had to admit, deep down, he was still a total pervert. He had no resistance to a girl dressed like that. And to make matters worse, she was breathing lightly, her chest rising and falling.

Noticing someone’s gaze, Lin Qingqian instinctively covered her chest. Her brows knitted together, and her expression turned even colder.

“Pervert! Get your eyes off me!”

“My eyes are on me. Besides, I’m not looking at you. I’m looking at the scenery behind you.”

Shen Guang whistled. His smug, self-satisfied look infuriated Lin Qingqian.

She didn’t want to share an elevator with Shen Guang, but when she patted her pockets, she was shocked to find she hadn’t brought her keys!

“Wait!” she shouted at Shen Guang without thinking.

“Bang!”

The door slammed shut, leaving Shen Guang and Lin Qingqian only a door apart.....
