What the heck? I’m just some nobody little brother!
And seriously, do you villains not have brains? I’ve only just met this young lady who runs the shop. If she really wanted to hide the Saint Cloth—and was cold-blooded enough—what good would killing me do? That threat alone made him wonder if there was something wrong with these people’s heads.
Ye Su slowly rose from his crouch, ready to fight back. They’d just told him he was going to lose his head. What kind of person wouldn’t fight back after that? A total pushover, that’s who.
These guys’ stats were way too low. With the stats and gear from his GM Class, they didn’t put any pressure on him at all. He hadn’t wanted to bully anyone, but they just had to use him to threaten someone else. Did they really think he was an easy target?
He’d made up his mind: the moment they made a move, he’d hit back. That was self-defense, plain and simple! Besides, anyone who’d casually go after an innocent kid wasn’t exactly a good person. He’d be giving them a little Punishment, too, right?
“Cohen! Don’t drag outsiders into this. He’s just a customer!” Kuxi glared furiously at the man advancing on the counter, feeling utterly powerless.
“It’s simple enough to make this stop. Just hand over the item and we’ll leave right away. You can even stay out here and keep playing house.” The man with the greatsword spoke with an air of authority, then lowered the blade toward the floor.
Bam! The greatsword slammed into the floor, carving out a small dent. Who knew how heavy it was?
He braced the sword against the floor with one hand, then shot Kuxi a sidelong glance. His eyes were full of a murderous aura that could only have come from who knew what kind of experience.
“I’ll count to three. If I don’t see the Saint Cloth by then, that kid loses his head.” The burly man snorted. Then he lifted the sword, still embedded in the floor, with one hand. Towering over everyone, he looked past the counter and pointed the greatsword at Ye Su, who was crouching on the floor.
“Oh, right. Don’t bother calling for help. This place is already under [Sound Lock]. No one outside can sense anything that happens in here.”
The hell are you pointing that thing at?!
Even with my nice personality, I’m starting to feel like beating you up.
“Three!”
“Two!”
“Fine, fine! I’ll give it to you! Just let him go—he’s innocent!” Kuxi saw the greatsword beginning to tilt toward Ye Su and hurriedly called out to stop them.
“Heh. So you were lying to us before. You still have the item... But this kid heard about the Saint Cloth. We can’t let him go.” The man called Cohen finally lowered his sword and looked at the flustered Kuxi with a sly grin.
“What do you mean?! We had a deal!”
“We did. I said I’d let him go, but I never said my men had to!” Cohen clapped his hands. One of the seven people who’d been guarding the door stepped forward, a longsword already drawn in his hand, its blade gleaming coldly.
Wow... Are you people even human?
Unbelievable. They were actually shameless enough to go that far? Ye Su really wanted to beat someone up.
“Kid! You should be proud to die by my sword. I’m a B-rank adventurer, the man known as ‘Han Jian.’” The man carried his longsword and slowly approached.
What the hell? Why would dying by your sword make me honored? Honestly, I think you could earn that honor too. How about coming over and dying by my hand?
