A window appeared before him, glowing with a faint blue light. A crisp system notification rang out along with it: “Ding-dong~”
What the heck? Ye Su stared at the prompt window as a shiver ran through his body. It felt like something had been injected into him.
And then... he felt his body grow more active. A hint of strength came over him—something he’d never felt before.
After that, the prompt window before him disappeared, fading away until it slowly turned transparent.
This is a game, right?! And I just leveled up? What kind of trash game has a GM as a class?!
Ye Su didn’t even have the energy to complain. He worked for a game company, and he’d never seen a setup like this. He’d heard of GM accounts with GM privileges, sure, but he’d never heard of a GM class.
There’s no way I got transported into a game world after all, is there?
Ye Su began looking around. Everything felt so real, with the exact same look and feel as the real world. There was none of the graininess of a VR game. It was completely immersive.
If this was a game, then judging by the big sister’s outfit, Ye Su figured it must be a sword-and-magic type of game. A Japanese-style RPG?
Hmm... I remember the buggy game I was fixing was something like this, wasn’t it?
Huh???
No way! Did I work myself to death fixing bugs, then get transported into the game world?!
Well, if this was a game, could he see his own stats as a player? In a role-playing game, things like the stat screen and equipment list were part of the very soul of the game.
As soon as Ye Su thought about opening his stats, a new prompt window appeared right in front of him, without the slightest delay.
It glowed in the dark, like it had a light buff. His character data appeared on it, along with a full image of himself.
Ye Su 【Novice Lv. 2】【Hidden Class: GM (can switch at any time) Lv. 1】
【Title】: None
HP: 20/20
MP: 10/10
Attack: 2
Spirit: 3
Defense: 0
Ye Su: “……”
This was ridiculously weak! His attack wasn’t even 5—he was weaker than a total noob!
“What’s wrong, little guy? Are you too scared to walk? Want me to carry you again?” The big sister saw Ye Su standing there in a daze and crouched down in front of him, puzzled. She startled him right out of his stat screen.
“N-no... I’m fine! I can walk by myself!” Ye Su glanced at the sticky bloodstains on the big sister’s leather armor. He did want the beautiful big sis to carry him, but... better not.
“Then make sure you keep up with me, okay? If you hadn’t stayed close just now, you’d be in a wolf’s stomach by now~ Awooo~” The big sister put on a scary act, waving her arms and baring her teeth like a wolf in front of Ye Su.
Well... I’d better play along. I can’t let her see how cute I think she is, or I’ll end up gushing blood. Ye Su pretended to be terrified. Amid the big sister’s laughter, they continued on, gradually leaving the sea of flowers behind. Far off in the distance, scattered lights clustered together, almost like a city.
Ye Su was growing more and more accustomed to the fact that he’d been transported into a game. Along the way, he kept testing its features.
If he’d been transported into a game, then the features available to players would be things like an inventory, skills, equipment, and a stats screen. When he tried them out, he found he could bring them all up. They simply appeared as floating windows in front of him.
It seemed the big sister couldn’t see these glowing prompt windows.
So the big sister was an NPC, then? She didn’t have any of the special abilities players did.
There was still some distance to go before they reached the lights. He tried silently bringing up the big sister’s stats, but nothing appeared.
Red text appeared before his eyes, written in blood-red letters: Insufficient ability or permissions.
Ye Su: “……”
This made the world feel even more like the game he’d helped develop. In that game, players couldn’t check other players’ stats unless they had a special skill that let them inspect someone.
That also added a layer of strategy to the game. After all, if everyone knew each other’s stats inside out, it’d be easy to target someone in a team fight. Information was part of the gameplay, too.
And among the many ways to inspect someone, Ye Su thought of one.
There was another way to check someone else’s stats: a GM account! A GM account had supreme privileges, so it could view other people’s stats. That let GMs monitoring the game quickly determine whether someone was cheating or if there’d been a data anomaly.
His hidden class was GM. He wasn’t sure if that was the same thing as a GM account, but he might as well try. It wasn’t like trying would get him pregnant.
He thought about switching classes, and at once he felt boundless power welling up inside him.
If the boost he’d felt from leveling up earlier was a one, then now he felt like he was 999999999!!!!
That’s right. He really did feel that ridiculously powerful.
His stats window opened, clearing up his confusion.
Ye Su 【GM Lv. 1】【Novice Lv. 2】
Title: None
HP: 999/999
MP: 999/999
Attack: 999
Spirit: 999
Defense: 999
【SKILL】Innate Skill—GM Console
W-wait!!!
These absurd stats... This was totally a GM account! No wonder he felt like he had boundless power!
I... I mean, I didn’t even need to start with a gun or a dog, kill chickens, or get a Dragon-Slaying Saber. I could just hit for 999 right from the start! It felt like he’d gotten some terrifying abilities.
He suppressed the urge to revel in his swelling power and turned his gaze to the knight-armored big sister walking ahead of him.
He silently thought, “Check stats,” and the stat window popped up at once.
Fiona 【Blood Knight Lv. 65】
Title: 【Blood Sword Maiden】【A-Rank Adventurer】
HP: 666/666
MP: 400/400
Attack: 570
Spirit: 200
Defense: 500
【SKILL】: 【Blood Prison Lv. Max】【Sword Technique Lv. 7】
Those were seriously big-shot stats. She was level 65? The big sister was surprisingly strong—her stats were almost on par with a GM’s. Though he had no idea if all the NPCs in this world were this powerful.
It wasn’t until they entered what looked like a run-down city wall that Ye Su realized that wasn’t the case.
The big sister’s stats were just abnormally high!
As he followed the big sister along the streets, he saw plenty of people dressed like adventurers wandering around, even though it was nighttime.
None of them were above level 20. The highest was only level 19. Compared to the big sister, they were complete pushovers.
While he was busy grumbling to himself, the big sister had led him to a large building without him even noticing. At least, it was large for this run-down little town.
“We’re here! This is the guild~” The big sister turned, took Ye Su by the hand, and led him inside.
