11—My Bargain Little Sister

A little sister named Su just dropped out of nowhere.

This really made no sense.

I’d heard of making up a friend out of thin air—but that was a special move only a five-five-open grandpa would use. It had nothing to do with the situation at hand.

Su Tong crossed her legs and simply closed her eyes to think.

She couldn’t ask.

Asking outright would only make the two little maids suspicious. Sure, who in the real world would believe in something as absurd as reincarnation? But just in case, it was best not to let anything slip.

So Su Tong happily decided to wait and see what happened.

Well, when in Rome, right?

The car eventually stopped in front of a fairly famous private high school for nobles. Su Tong had heard of it before. Supposedly, it offered nothing but elite education, with every kind of facility and a powerhouse teaching staff. It could almost go toe-to-toe with the High School Affiliated to Renmin University in the capital…

Of course, it’d still get absolutely crushed in the end.

Maybe you couldn’t rank the country’s universities first, second, and third, but high schools were another matter. If the High School Affiliated to Renmin University dared call itself the nation’s second-best high school, no one else would dare claim the top spot. Its old principal had even once said that the two schools—the high school and Renmin University—ought to switch their places in the name.

Anyway, that was how terrifyingly good it was.

Su Tong’s gaze swept over the gilded characters shining in the sunlight above the entrance to the private high school, then she turned away, bored.

How dull.

It was probably pickup time. Cars waiting to collect students filled the place. Maybachs, Rolls-Royces, and Porsches were everywhere, and she even spotted a Hongqi. The sight was truly breathtaking.

You wouldn’t think these were parents picking up their kids. A passerby might’ve assumed there was a car show going on.

What a circus.

The two little maids, Dongli and Nia, had already gone to pick someone up. Su Tong was glad to have some peace and quiet, so she rested her chin in her hand by the car window and thought about what to do with her future. Time flew by as if she were being watched by a pair of black-rimmed glasses.

-1s, -1s… The countdown kept going until a familiar little maid’s voice finally sounded beside her:

“Miss Zhizi, over here.”

Only then did she snap out of her hazy thoughts and turn to look out the car window.

And found herself looking straight into the eyes of the girl outside.

She doesn’t look like her—the thought sprang into her mind at once.

She really didn’t.

A horse and a donkey might produce a mule, but they’d never produce a rabbit. It didn’t matter how much a donkey’s ears resembled a rabbit’s—donkeys were donkeys, and rabbits were rabbits. It was obvious. So a black-haired person’s child would most likely have black hair, and a square-faced person’s child would very likely have a square face too.

The girl in front of her was nothing like that.

Her long hair was just as smooth as satin, but her features gave off a feeling almost completely opposite to Su Tong’s. If Su Tong was a pure, delicate lily, then the girl in front of her was a rich, fragrant tulip, with an unmistakable air of nobility from head to toe.

She always held her head high, her expression cool and composed. Every movement was graceful and restrained, making Su Tong’s lazy, carefree manner stand out all the more.

She seemed like a child born into nobility in the truest sense.

Though that wasn’t necessarily a good thing.

Su Tong pursed her lips.

As a socialist successor who’d grown up under the red flag, she’d never had much patience for these stuffy people with their inexplicable sense of superiority. So after meeting this little sister she’d gained out of nowhere, the first thought that popped into her head wasn’t “a beautiful JK—awsl.”

It was how to fuck this rotten little bourgeois up… No, how to crush this evil little bourgeois.

But she didn’t let any of that show.

She chose to stay put and watch as her new little sister got into the car through the other door, smoothed her skirt, and sat down beside her.

At a private school, of course, the uniform was the sort of little blazer-and-skirt outfit you’d see in a youth romance drama. Su Tong wasn’t sure whether they had Japanese-style JK uniforms too, but either way, the outfit hugged the girl’s well-developed curves, making it hard not to sigh.

Now this is the high-school life I’ve always dreamed of!

But after thinking it over, she gave up on the idea. Getting someone like her, a reincarnated person used to a carefree life, to adapt to those impossibly strict noble manners would be worse than asking her to die.

Things were fine as they were. A couch potato should act like one.

Her thoughts tangled together in a complete mess.

Then Dongli’s voice suddenly came from the front:

“Please sit properly, both of you. We’re heading back now.”

Her new little sister said nothing, but Su Tong suddenly thought of something and casually gave an order:

“Mm. Once we get back, tell them I want two top-of-the-line computers… Buy two monitors for now, and as for the desks and chairs to go with them… use your judgment.”

“Yes, miss.”

Dongli didn’t ask why. For a maid, the most important thing was figuring out how to carry out her master’s orders, not questioning whether they made sense.

If she hadn’t thought that way, the short-tempered master of the house would’ve taught them long ago what “We can’t solve the problem, but we can solve the person who raised it” meant.

But her new little sister, who’d been sitting quietly beside her the whole time, lifted her head and gave her a complicated, almost imperceptible look.

Then her expression settled back into calm.

Su Tong didn’t notice what her new little sister had done. If she had, she’d probably have thought the stuck-up little bourgeois was plotting something fishy. After all, if she had to describe that look…

“Isn’t that just the look a Girls’ Frontline player gives their own donkey? She’s got ‘I’m about to bully you’ written all over her!”

Anyway, not another word was spoken the whole way back.

The two top-of-the-line computers Su Tong had asked for were delivered in no time.

The two little maids weren’t just maids, really. In a way, they were also housekeepers, so once they were given an order, they got it done quickly.

Not long after they got home, delivery workers from the computer and furniture stores arrived, carrying in box after box and setting everything up. They worked for quite a while before finally managing to get all the equipment installed.

At last, Su Tong could curl up in her gaming chair and admire the top-of-the-line computer in front of her. She marveled that capitalism was evil, sure, but damn, it felt good—then looked up the equipment she’d need.

By 2014, motion-capture technology probably already existed…

The idea taking shape in her mind seemed more and more possible, and Su Tong couldn’t help narrowing her eyes into a cute, satisfied catlike smile.

The world’s first virtual streamer was about to make her debut!

But, caught up in her excitement, she had no idea what was happening in the room next door.

The blonde little maid stood respectfully by the table, head bowed, looking as terrified as a mouse that had just spotted a cat.

Su Zhizi sat across from her.

The girl lifted her chin and stared at the little maid without expression. Then she suddenly spoke:

“Tell me, why does Su Tong… my older sister… seem like a completely different person after just one week? Do you have any idea what’s going on?”

The little maid looked even more frightened.

“Miss… Dongli doesn’t know either. Miss Su Tong just… just seemed to change after she ran away from home a few days ago…”

“Ran away from home?”

Su Zhizi gave a cold snort.

“Well… isn’t that interesting.”
