“Time to get up.”
Bei Yaoyue poked Xi Feng’s little cheek with her index finger. It was smooth and soft, and paired with that pure-white skin, it looked just like a sweet, delicious milk pudding—so tempting she couldn’t help wanting to take a bite and see how it tasted.
“Mmm~~”
Xi Feng didn’t wake up as she’d hoped.
“Get up.”
Bei Yaoyue pressed a little harder, poking until Xi Feng’s little head rocked to the left a few times. Only then did she finally stir awake.
“Ah… Is it morning already…?” Xi Feng rubbed her bleary eyes and asked groggily. The one waking her up should’ve been her alarm clock, not Bei Yaoyue.
“It’s already eight.”
Bei Yaoyue felt a sudden, inexplicable headache (mentally). She was supposed to be the master, so why was the master waking up the maid instead of the maid waking up the master?
Something had to be wrong here.
“What? It’s only eight.” Xi Feng mumbled lazily. No wonder her alarm hadn’t gone off—she’d set it to wake her up a whole hour later.
The heavy drowsiness made it hard for her to open her eyes. Her eyelids were like long-lost siblings, clinging tightly to each other and refusing to part.
“Get up.” Bei Yaoyue furrowed her brows, her voice turning sterner. “I don’t care what your habits used to be. You’re changing them starting today. You’ll get up at seven on school days and eight on weekends. Not a minute later.”
“No.” Xi Feng turned away in protest. Only she knew just how sleepy and exhausted she felt.
“Get up. Now. This instant.”
Realizing that being tough wasn’t working on Bei Yaoyue, Xi Feng immediately softened her voice. In a sweet, coquettish tone that could make every bone in someone’s body go weak, she pleaded, “Can’t you let me sleep for another half hour~~?”
When people are backed into a corner, they’ll do anything. Selling a little sex appeal and acting cute was nothing at all.
Back when she was her old self, she could’ve been out of bed in a flash, no hesitation. Even if she’d only slept for two hours, she could jump up full of energy and stay wide awake all day.
That’s the privilege of being young.
But the problem was… she wasn’t who she used to be anymore.
The more carefree she’d been back then, the more helpless and down on her luck she was now.
She really didn’t want to stay in bed, but she just couldn’t get up!
This frail body might as well have sentenced her to death. Her warm bed was like a magnetic pole with an irresistible pull, keeping her stuck fast and unable to move.
“No.” Bei Yaoyue rejected Xi Feng’s request without the slightest mercy.
Now that Xi Feng was her maid, she had to obey. Bei Yaoyue absolutely couldn’t let her do whatever she pleased.
She wasn’t worried Xi Feng would disobey. She was confident she had ten thousand ways to make Xi Feng get out of bed.
“Mmm~~~”
Xi Feng pouted in a huff and was just about to keep pleading when she caught sight of Bei Yaoyue’s expression, cold as an iceberg. She jolted fully awake.
It was all because she’d just woken up and her head was still foggy. The person telling her to get up wasn’t some gentle, sweet girl next door—it was her master, the evil spirit who held her life and death in her hands!
If Bei Yaoyue wanted, she could send Xi Feng straight to a hell of endless torment!
She’d actually been arguing with a capitalist about human rights and freedom. She had to be out of her mind.
“I’m sorry! I’m getting up right now!”
Xi Feng hurriedly apologized, sat up in bed, and reached for the clothes beside it.
Bei Yaoyue paused for a moment, then expressionlessly looked away. “You’re exposed.”
“Huh?” Xi Feng was confused for a moment. What was exposed?
“Your breasts.” Bei Yaoyue gave her a shocking answer.
As she spoke, she sneaked another glance, sizing Xi Feng up from the corner of her eye.
So flat. Five-star review.
As imposing as the young lady’s dignity.
It looked really cute.
“…!!!!”
When Xi Feng finally understood, her cheeks immediately began to burn. She hurriedly yanked up the blanket and wrapped it tightly around herself as if she’d been violated, shouting in a panic, “Get out!”
Like a face changing in a Peking opera, her cheeks—which had been frighteningly pale just a moment ago—turned bright red in an instant, as if they might start dripping blood.
She’d only become a girl recently, so she still hadn’t developed the instinct to protect her privacy. That was why she’d let her private parts be exposed in front of Bei Yaoyue without thinking.
A fierce sense of shame kept gnawing at her soul, setting her whole heart ablaze with embarrassment and indignation.
Bei Yaoyue’s delicate brows shot up. In a displeased, icy voice, she asked, “Are you giving me orders?”
“N-no…”
Under Bei Yaoyue’s forceful retort, what little courage Xi Feng had vanished in an instant, and her voice weakened along with it.
She swallowed her pride and lowered her flushed face in apology. “I’m sorry. I… got a little worked up…”
“You really don’t have to be so embarrassed. We’re both girls. It’s not like I haven’t seen one before.” Bei Yaoyue said it as if it were nothing, then turned and headed for the door. “You’ve got half an hour. Get dressed and washed up, then come out with me.”
“Where are we going?”
“I’ll tell you once you’re up.”
Click—
The bedroom door closed softly, leaving Xi Feng alone to keep struggling against her sleepiness.
Xi Feng spent a minute throwing on the change of clothes she’d brought, dug her toiletries out of her bag, and left the bedroom.
Bei Yaoyue was sitting on the couch, playing on her phone. Seeing Xi Feng carrying nothing but a cup, toothpaste, a toothbrush, and a towel, she asked in surprise, “Is that all you brought for washing up?”
The question completely threw Xi Feng. Looking puzzled, she said, “What else would I need?”
You brush your teeth, wash your face, and you’re done, right?
At most, she might wash her hair too. But shampoo wasn’t a personal item like a toothbrush or towel, so surely it’d be fine to use Bei Yaoyue’s.
“…Forget it. Pretend I didn’t ask.”
Seeing that Xi Feng’s confusion didn’t look fake at all, Bei Yaoyue forcibly held back the urge to roast her mercilessly.
How could a girl have no sense of skincare at all? The important morning routine was apparently just brushing her teeth and washing her face.
And yet Xi Feng’s skin was several times smoother and more flawless than an ordinary person’s, silky to the touch and impossible to stop touching.
She had no idea how long Xi Feng had been alive, and she’d never even made a point of taking care of her skin. Yet her complexion was still so exceptional. A tiny spark of jealousy kindled in Bei Yaoyue’s heart.
Bei Yaoyue had thoughtfully given Xi Feng a full half hour to get ready, but now it seemed completely unnecessary.
Bei Yaoyue’s inexplicable question had left Xi Feng baffled. But when she saw that Bei Yaoyue was already absorbed in her phone and didn’t seem inclined to answer any questions, she didn’t press the matter.
Xi Feng went into the bathroom and finished washing up in just three or four minutes.
She’d honed that skill in college so she could stay in bed a few minutes longer. At her fastest, she could get out of bed, wash up, and be ready to leave for class in just three minutes.
But then she ran into a fatal problem—washing her hair.
All the work she’d done last night had made her sweat a lot. She could put up with her body being a little dirty for a day or so, but dirty hair looked awful. She had to wash it, no matter what.
It wasn’t that she didn’t know how to wash her hair. But her hair had only ever been about ten centimeters long, which made it as easy as could be. Now it reached her waist, and she was completely at a loss.
How was she supposed to wash hair this long?!
If she bent over, it was practically going to drag on the floor, for crying out loud!
“Master…” Xi Feng poked her head out of the bathroom, grinning awkwardly. “Can I take a shower first?”
Washing her hair while she showered was the only solution she could think of.
“Go ahead. Just be quick.” Bei Yaoyue nodded. She could be overbearing sometimes, but she wasn’t unreasonable. There was no reason to refuse a request like that.
Xi Feng slipped back into the bathroom and locked the door firmly behind her. In a few quick motions, she stripped off all her clothes and tossed them aside.
Her gaze accidentally swept across the bathroom mirror, and Xi Feng suddenly froze.
Her short, petite frame was so slender it made your heart ache, yet her proportions were flawless, almost impossible to find fault with. Her frighteningly pale skin gave the girl a somewhat sickly air, (——data deleted——).
The girl’s breathtaking body looked like a gift from the heavens, and Xi Feng felt her blood rush all at once. Any normal man would have to feel something for a girl like that.
But unfortunately, the girl in the mirror was her, and all interest immediately faded.
She hurried into the shower, turned on the water, and set the temperature to the lowest setting.
“Shhh—”
The cold water ran from her head to her feet, and only then did her restless thoughts slowly cool down.
Afraid of accidentally touching some strange switch on her body, Xi Feng hurriedly rubbed herself down a few times and finished washing. She focused all her energy on her hair, which was nearly long enough to reach her butt.
A few minutes later, Xi Feng, now a head full of black lines, realized that doubling the length of your hair didn’t just double the trouble of washing it.
Hair length and hassle weren’t directly proportional. The hassle grew exponentially.
Washing her waist-length silver hair took more effort than washing her hair a hundred times before.
Blow-drying her hair after the shower was agony all over again. She only managed to get it about ninety percent dry after her arm holding the hair dryer had grown so sore she could barely stand it.
“One of these days, I’m cutting off all this troublesome hair!” Xi Feng muttered through gritted teeth.
“Finished?”
Bei Yaoyue asked as Xi Feng came out of the bathroom, feeling a little disappointed.
It would’ve been nice if Xi Feng had come out wrapped in a towel instead of fully dressed. Then Bei Yaoyue could’ve enjoyed the sight of a beauty fresh from the bath.
Xi Feng nodded and combed her hair as she asked, “Where are we going later?”
“We’ll get something to eat first.”
“Huh? We’re eating out?” Xi Feng was taken aback. She clearly remembered that the list of duties Bei Yaoyue had given her included making three meals a day. That was definitely part of her job.
Bei Yaoyue hadn’t just said that on a whim and then forgotten about it, had she?
“Mm.”
Wanting to prove her worth, Xi Feng put on a confident smile and volunteered, “I can make breakfast. I…”
Before Xi Feng could finish, Bei Yaoyue waved a hand and cut her off. “There’s no food at home.”
Sometimes Bei Yaoyue thought Xi Feng wasn’t quite right in the head. She ordered takeout every day. Why would there be any ingredients ready to use at home?
Xi Feng’s smile froze on her face. Like a defeated general, she lowered her head dejectedly. “Okay.”
“You can go buy ingredients later. Bring me the receipt when you get back, and I’ll reimburse you.”
Xi Feng nodded slightly, then asked, “What are we doing after we eat?”
Since Bei Yaoyue had said they’d get something to eat first, there had to be something else to do afterward.
“We’re getting you two maid outfits made to order.”
