Chapter 1: You Reap What You Sow

That day, I dug a huge hole and buried myself in it.

The flowers of hope, the bonds we forged...

His phone alarm went off right on time, jolting Jiang Feng awake in the middle of a romantic dream with the Duke of Zhou’s daughter.

His body shut off the alarm almost by reflex. Jiang Feng rolled over and went right back to snoring, with no intention of getting up.

A beautiful day starts with hitting snooze.

He’d only just rolled onto his side when Jiang Feng felt an inexplicable tickle on his face. He reached up to scratch his cheek and touched a few soft, hair-like strands instead.

“...?”

His still-groggy brain wasn’t up to any rational thought yet. Half-asleep, Jiang Feng sat up and opened his eyes, only to find several silvery strands of hair blocking most of his view.

“...What’s this stuff?” Jiang Feng murmured in confusion. But strangely, the voice coming from his throat wasn’t some gruff man’s. It was a soft, timid little-girl voice.

He felt like he’d heard that voice somewhere before, but couldn’t remember where.

His brain was like a rusty machine with no oil, struggling to run smoothly.

Jiang Feng patted his cheeks, trying to wake himself up a little.

Something about his body felt off. He had this indescribable sense of weakness.

As he wound his memories back to the night before, he gradually remembered accidentally activating some strange magic circle, summoning a demon from another world, then somehow signing a contract with the demon named Lilian...

Wait. Lilian!?

At that, Jiang Feng suddenly understood. The voice he’d just heard really had been Lilian’s, hadn’t it?

But why did his voice sound like Lilian’s...?

…………

…………

At last, he realized something was wrong. The sudden chill of horror snapped Jiang Feng’s groggy brain wide awake.

He hurriedly looked down. Instead of the slightly paunchy body he’d had as a shut-in, he saw a petite figure dressed in a pure white nightgown. Two small feet, white as jade, peeked shyly out from beneath its hem.

“No way...”

Fear and panic flooded him almost instantly. With a trembling hand, he slowly reached his right hand beneath his nightgown.

“!!!!!!”

It was gone.

His little buddy of twenty-one years was gone!!!

After a brief, stunned pause, Jiang Feng let out a shrill scream. He scrambled up and leaped out of bed.

Jiang Feng clearly wasn’t thinking straight. Even the weakness and exhaustion coursing through his body hadn’t made him realize just how frail it was.

He leaped out of bed the way he always did. But when he landed, it felt like he’d stepped onto cotton. His frail legs couldn’t absorb the impact, and they buckled beneath him. He landed hard on his butt.

“Ow, ow, ow, ow!!!!!!!”

A sharp pain shot through his nerves and straight to his brain. It should’ve been well within the bounds of what he could bear, but Jiang Feng’s nose stung and his vision blurred in an instant. Big, round tears welled up and rolled down from the corners of his eyes.

“*¥@*@#%&@! That fucking hurts!” Jiang Feng grimaced and rubbed his backside, cursing up a storm in a sweet, soft voice as gentle as a fairy’s from a dream.

He struggled to his feet, his body limp as a rag. But the moment he stood upright, a violent wave of dizziness swept through his head. His vision went black, then filled with golden stars. The discomfort was so intense that a pained groan escaped him.

“Damn it!” Jiang Feng cursed under his breath. This wasn’t unfamiliar. He’d suffered from anemia for a while as a kid, and this was exactly how it felt when he stood up after crouching down: dizzy, with his vision going black.

Resisting the urge to drop to his knees, Jiang Feng made his way over to the full-length mirror. The reflection wiped out the last shred of hope he had.

The girl in the mirror looked about fourteen or fifteen. Her hair was silver as snow, her skin smooth and pale, her eyes shaped like crescent moons and sparkling like stars. Her startled expression and blank stare gave her a naturally spacey air, making the already adorable girl look even cuter. Only her sickly pallor marred the picture.

The girl’s crimson eyes were as pure and flawless as the world’s most precious crystals, glittering like diamonds. Jiang Feng was certain he’d never seen eyes so beautiful and clear—and he didn’t think he ever would.

A thin film of moisture clouded those clear eyes now, and a few tears still clung to their corners. She looked ready to cry.

The girl was tiny, no more than around 140 centimeters tall. Her arms and legs were so thin and frail, it seemed like they might snap if someone so much as touched them. She was so skinny a gust of wind could carry her off, and her chest was completely flat. “Ironing board” might’ve been the perfect description of her figure.

He knew that figure. Change the hair and eye color to black and make her a little bigger, and she was undoubtedly the demon who’d called herself Lilian yesterday.

In other words, the girl in the mirror was the result of the wish he’d made yesterday—the girl who belonged to him alone: Xi Feng.

A girl so lovable, delicate, and frail practically invited people to commit a crime. But Jiang Feng wasn’t in the mood to appreciate her at all.

Because... the girl in the mirror was him!!!

“Crack!”

Jiang Feng threw all his strength into punching the glass and roared furiously, “Lilian, you fucking set me up!!!”

Even someone as slow on the uptake as Jiang Feng should’ve figured it out by now—Lilian had played him, and he’d dug this huge hole himself.

His wish had been for “a girl who would always belong to him, and whom he could toy with however he wanted.” By the looks of it, the wish had come true. But the way it had come true was, well, maybe, sort of, just a little off.

His full-force punch shattered the fragile mirror in an instant. But the recoil sent pain shooting through Jiang Feng’s right hand. He clutched it and rolled on the floor, wailing through his tears.

This body’s sensitivity to pain and ability to endure it were so low that no normal person could understand.

Only then did Jiang Feng suddenly realize that this seemed to be one of the conditions he’d asked for in his wish yesterday.

Then a wave of terror spread through Jiang Feng. He remembered all too clearly the perverted specifications he’d given for this body.

Timid, tsundere, prone to tears, frail, afraid of pain, scared of thunder, a vampire, and a training system to discipline her...

“Aaaaaaaah!!!”

At the thought, Jiang Feng let out a despairing wail. He definitely liked all those traits, but... he absolutely didn’t want them in himself!!!

He was a grown man, a full seven feet tall, and now he’d turned into a little girl who’d burst into tears if someone so much as picked on her!?

What kind of sick joke was this!

Humiliated tears spilled down his face. Rage and terror surged through Jiang Feng until his head felt hot. He hurried into the kitchen, grabbed a fruit knife, and without hesitation slashed hard at his own wrist.

“I’d... huff... rather die than... huff... put up with this kind of humiliation!” Jiang Feng had only jogged from the bedroom to the kitchen, yet he was already panting hard. That alone showed just how little stamina this body had.

The sharp fruit knife sliced across his delicate wrist, opening a long cut. Bright red arterial blood immediately welled up, and the searing pain that followed made Jiang Feng regret it at once.

A mere fall had left him in tears and unable to stand for ages. It was easy to imagine how much this cut on his wrist hurt.

“Fuck! It hurts! It hurts so much!!!! Fuck!!! I’m sorry!!!!”

Tears covered his face, completely beyond his control. The soul-searing pain nearly knocked Jiang Feng unconscious, while the fear of death closed in around him, making him regret his impulsiveness even more.

They say a bad life is better than a good death. Once you’re dead, you lose everything—and besides, after death he’d have to sell his soul to a demon. If he died now, he’d be getting absolutely screwed.

He struggled to crawl up and bandage the wound, but the stabbing pain and heavy blood loss gradually clouded his mind. His body was already so weak that he couldn’t muster the strength to move at all.

For a moment, Jiang Feng was overwhelmed by guilt and fear. If he just lay there like this, he might... actually bleed to death in his own home.
