Yexing and her gaming friend usually chatted while they played, but eventually they just left the game running and talked.

“Come to think of it, you have an older sister?”

“Yeah. She’s really dependable. She usually seems so cold, but she’s actually very kind inside.”

“The cool-on-the-outside, warm-on-the-inside type? That sounds great.”

Yexing had originally wanted to talk about her own situation, like how she lived alone and all that.

But now she was a loli—and there were two of them, at that. Maybe she could have a little fun with it.

“I don’t have an older sister, but I do have an unbelievably cute little sister. She’s so soft to hug and smells so nice. It’s the best!”

“...”

The other person fell silent for a moment.

“Um... do you not know how to talk about girls? Even if it’s true, the way you describe her makes you sound like a total creep. If anyone else heard you, they’d definitely call the police.”

Yexing’s face flushed, and she felt a little embarrassed.

“Mm... Sorry. I’m not very good at talking.”

“Mm-hmm~ But I can tell you really love your little sister.” The other person seemed unable to hold back a laugh.

“Of course I do.” She was super cute. How could Yexing not love herself?

“Sounds like you’re a siscon. I’m pretty much the same, though. I’m a brocon.”

Yexing tilted her head and pondered that.

A siscon?

That wasn’t it.

What did you call it when you were into yourself?

A narcissist?

As they kept chatting, they ended up moving on to another topic.

“I was thinking... maybe we could meet up? We’re in the same city, and we have so much fun chatting. Maybe we could meet in person, too?” Yexing finally worked up the courage to make her move.

As soon as she said it, she got scared of hearing a no. She almost buried her head under the covers.

The other person was quiet for a while, then said, “I’d like to, too, but... my health makes it difficult...”

“That’s okay. I can come to you.”

Yexing felt her cheeks grow warm. So this was what it felt like to say something embarrassing.

“Really?”

“Yeah, really.”

There was no turning back now.

Yexing could honestly say this was the bravest decision she’d ever made.

“I see. Then I’ll look forward to it.”

“Huh? You’re saying yes?”

“Yeah. Since a friend asked, it’d be hard to turn you down. Besides... I want to meet you, too. I don’t want to have any regrets.”

“That’s great!”

Yexing was already so excited she wanted to roll around on the bed a few times, then wrap herself up in her blanket like a little loli roll.

After that, Yexing and the other person exchanged contact information, finally building a real bridge between them as friends.

Once they had each other’s addresses, they both logged off.

Yexing curled up around her phone and rolled around on the bed. She didn’t even get up to open the door when Ye Lan came home.

“Mmm~ Mm~ Hehe.”

A little while later, Yexing sat at the table, studying the map on her phone while enjoying Ye Lan’s feeding service. She was living the good life.

“Come to think of it, why does this place look so familiar?”

Yexing and Ye Lan pressed their faces together to look at the location on the phone, both falling into deep thought.

“Huh? Isn’t this near the Night Watchers Base?”

Yexing and Ye Lan froze.

Then Ye Lan rubbed her chin and guessed, “Is it possible—I mean, just possible, I might be wrong—that our gaming friend is a Night Watcher?”

Yexing jolted. “No way. Absolutely no way. They said they’re in poor health, so how could they be a Night Watcher?”

That did make sense. Nothing to worry about, then.

It was probably just a coincidence.

“Whatever. Let’s get back to eating.”

Ye Lan kept feeding Yexing one bite at a time.

Yexing, meanwhile, scrolled on her phone with one hand and occasionally licked Ye Lan’s delicate fingers. She was pretty pleased with herself.

They were one person to begin with. This was just making efficient use of two bodies.

Then they could take a bath together, play games together, sleep together, and cuddle up to each other. What a perfect day!

Just then, Yexing suddenly realized something.

“We’re supposed to meet tomorrow, so which body should I use?”

“Obviously, I’m going~” Ye Lan lifted her chin and smiled.

Ye Lan was already a Night Watcher, so she was the perfect one to go there. It was on her way, anyway.

As for Yexing, she could keep lazing around at home and work hard to make up for Ye Lan’s share of slacking off, too.

Yep. That settled it!

...

The next day.

Night Watchers Base.

As usual, Bai Tu went to the hospital room where her younger sister was staying, bringing her favorite food along.

“Bai Yu, did something nice happen? You look really happy.”

Bai Yu smiled faintly at Bai Tu. “Big Sis, I’m always happy.”

“I can tell something’s different today.”

“I can’t hide anything from you, Big Sis.” Bai Yu let out an exaggerated, troubled sigh, then continued, “I actually made plans to meet an online friend in person. I gave him my address—this place.”

“A friend?” Bai Tu looked confused. She couldn’t remember Bai Yu having any friends she didn’t know.

Bai Yu explained, “He’s a gaming friend I met online. We have a lot of fun chatting, so we decided to meet up.”

Bai Tu thought it over after hearing that.

“Is that so? Then I’ll wait here with you for a while. I’d like to meet your friend, too.”

“All right. I can never say no to you, can I?”

Bai Yu sighed helplessly.

She knew Bai Tu had work to do, but she’d put it aside to wait here with her.

It wasn’t hard to figure out why.

Her big sister just didn’t trust her to be alone with some strange person she’d never met.

But that was normal.

Wasn’t this just the kind of care only an older sister could give?

Meanwhile, Bai Tu had already started imagining all sorts of things.

She was worried Bai Yu was too innocent and might get tricked by some bad person, so there was no way she’d let her be alone with a stranger.

She’d have to look this friend over carefully, then use her Night Watcher authority to dig up all his information and investigate him properly.

Bai Tu wouldn’t feel comfortable letting Bai Yu be friends with him until she was sure he had no shady past.

As for whether this friend was an ordinary person, Bai Tu didn’t care.

Though this was a special medical facility run by the Night Watchers Organization, ordinary people were allowed to visit.

For example, family members of Night Watchers could come here for treatment without learning the Night Watchers’ secrets.

Bai Yu was one such example.

Ordinary visitors just had to complete the proper procedures.

Once the paperwork was done, there was no problem.

...

Meanwhile.

As usual, Ye Lan arrived at the Night Watchers Base, then followed the route to the medical facility without a hitch.

As a Night Watcher herself, she didn’t need to deal with any complicated procedures. A quick face scan was enough to get her through.

After reading the information about the medical facility, Ye Lan had more or less figured a few things out.

“Mm~ I see. So my gaming friend might be a Night Watcher’s family member?”

As she thought it over, Ye Lan sent the other person a message.

【I’m here now. I’ll come find you in a minute.】
