Morning light filtered through the window lattice as Lu Feng woke naturally to his biological clock.

Another bright, sunny day. He moved to get up—then froze. Something felt off beneath the blanket.

He lifted it.

A petite girl slept soundly against his chest, breathing softly. Her doll-like porcelain cheeks were flushed with sleep, her small frame completely bare. Waist-length white hair spilled over her shoulders and back. And—

Lu Feng reached out and gently brushed the cat ears atop her head.

They twitched. A tail sprouted behind her, swaying slightly. Blinking sleepily, she lifted her face, rubbing her eyes with the back of her hand.

"Mew?" she murmured, confused.

It’s… real?

My cat changed?! After just one day?!

Lu Feng was a transmigrator. Yet this world felt identical—food, games, everything—so he’d settled into life here as if nothing changed. But this morning? Proof. Differences existed.

How lucky! Parallel worlds really do have perks. Others’ cats stay cats. Mine transformed in a day.

Truly, no two cats are alike.

Grinning, Lu Feng accepted it instantly.

He grabbed his phone and typed in the QQ group: *"When does your cat turn human?"*

He’d joined a pet lovers’ group long ago but never chatted—nothing to share.

Replies flooded in:

"Three years. Still no change."

"Trained mine through the gratitude phase… still nada."

"Mine hasn’t transformed but already acts grateful."

"Wait—you *train* gratitude? Shouldn’t it come naturally?"

Lu Feng silently closed the app.

Special case. Cat constitutions vary.

The cat-eared girl sat in a duck-like pose, ears twitching, eyes half-open, tail curling gently behind her.

"Hmm… Since you changed, you need a name," Lu Feng mused, studying her pristine form.

"Yuzi."

"Meow meow?"

He nodded. She tiptoed closer, curiously poking his ahoge, swaying playfully before him.

But—no clothes ready. Couldn’t leave her bare. Time to buy dresses. *Cute ones first.*

And meals: no more cat food. Two portions now.

Heart light, Lu Feng headed out with a smile.

Meanwhile, the Hero Association headquarters in Nanzhou, Eastern Empire, held a tense meeting.

Demons roamed this world. Humans with supernatural abilities formed the Hero Association to confront them.

Balance held: some demon clans coexisted peacefully; others—like the Blood Clan—were mortal enemies of humanity.

All senior members arrived thirty minutes early. The hall sat in dead silence. A pin drop would echo.

Everyone knew: President Shen Zhan was not to be crossed.

*Clack. Clack.* Military boots echoed. Younger members held their breath.

A sixty-year-old giant strode in—bear-like build, muscles coiled like serpents, a battlefield scar carving his jaw. Silver-streaked hair, eyes sharp enough to freeze blood. No one dared call him "old."

Shen Zhan. Strength: Eighth Realm. The pinnacle among heroes.

Medals gleaming on his Eastern Empire uniform, he stepped to the podium.

"All present?" His gaze swept the room.

"Y-yes, sir!" a junior stammered, rising.

"Report."

"Blood Clan incursion in Xiyang City—fully neutralized!"

"Fifth-tier demon in Dongfeng City—eliminated!"

Voice after voice rang clear and crisp. Mostly victories. A few failures—reporters trembling.

Shen Zhan showed no reaction.

When silence fell, he spoke softly:

"Good work. All of you."

Relieved exhales filled the hall. *Meeting’s over.*

Then—

*Da-da-da-daaa!* The opening bars of *Pomp and Circumstance* blared.

Everyone froze.

*Who left their phone on?! With THAT ringtone?!*

Sweat beaded on brows—until Shen Zhan calmly pulled a phone from his belt. Hatsune Miku wallpaper gleamed. He pressed it to his ear, face unreadable.

"Hello?"

Stunned silence.

Like discovering a stoic guy’s playlist holds J-pop.

"Mm. Understood." He lowered the phone.

*"Beep beep~ Onii-chan, the call ended!"* chirped a loli-style voice prompt.

"The royal vampire from Beijiang City escaped," Shen Zhan announced, voice grave. "Ascended to sixth tier.

Someone in Lingjiang Town aided her."

Dead quiet.

"Beijiang task force," he ordered calmly. "Identify the intervener. Handle it. Report only if unresolved."

A pause.

"Dismissed."
