“Big Sister, what’s the point of telling me this now? There’s a psychotic Malevolent Ghost right beside us—do you seriously expect me to use ‘Dragon Impact’ on you in this situation?”

Dr. Chen didn’t hold back with a woman like Glasses Girl.

At first, he’d felt a flicker of guilt for accidentally brushing against a certain spot in the dark. But her shameless acting and flirting, regardless of the setting—it wasn’t just tempting him to cross a line; it was practically signing his death warrant!

“Huh? What do you mean?” Whether genuinely confused or feigning innocence, Glasses Girl acted puzzled by his words.

“Uh… nothing. Just an online game skill—the dragon knight’s ultimate move.”

Dr. Chen recalled the expressionless man’s warning: *Watch out for Glasses Girl.*

Turns out, he was dead right. This woman’s scheming ran deep. Surviving this long? Likely all thanks to her masterful social maneuvering.

Every mission, she’d just latch onto the strongest guy—selling her dignity if needed—to stay close and boost her odds.

Still, Dr. Chen wondered: what if a mission had only women? No one to fawn over her, and her “skills” would be useless.

…Maybe she wasn’t as weak as she seemed. At the very least, she had a hidden trump card. Otherwise, how had she stayed unharmed in this room so long?

“I love gaming too! If we get out, let’s play together sometime?”

“Sure, sure—but *if* we get out. How big is this room? What’s inside? You should know, right?”

When they first entered, Glasses Girl and Brother Li used a light—and sent the psychotic patient into a frenzy.

“Um… I was too scared to see clearly. Room’s about ten square meters. Only a hospital bed. He was lying there quietly—but didn’t look human. Naked. Skin deathly pale, emaciated. Arms with no muscle, like bone right under the skin. Then the light hit him…”

“And he snapped? Guess you found nothing useful in the office. Those patient files in the cabinet—that’s the real key to clearing this level.”

“You went to the director’s office? Alone… or with someone?”

“The others died downstairs.”

“You cleared the office *alone*?!” Glasses Girl’s voice cracked with shock. She never imagined the very office that nearly killed her and Brother Li had been soloed by Dr. Chen.

“Not the time. How do we deal with *him*? At our level, do either of us even have ghost-killing gear?”

“I’ve used all my talismans. This is my only self-defense.” The meaning was clear: *Protect me.*

“Hmph.” Dr. Chen snorted coldly. He didn’t believe her for a second—but he’d never counted on her anyway.

“Which way is the ghost?” No more delays. Past midnight, the Malevolent Ghost would move. And he’d be first in line.

The electric drill in his hand should work… but he needed its location. Pitch black. He saw nothing.

“It’s… that way. Move forward about three meters.” Glasses Girl grabbed his hand, pointing into the darkness.

“Is that so? Let me test it first…”

He didn’t crawl over. Instead, he pulled a small cake from his shoulder bag and tossed it toward her indicated spot.

He didn’t trust her. Needed to probe the path.

Silence hung thick. The landing sound was unnaturally distinct—texture mattered.

*Thud.* A soft, muffled thump. Hit something yielding. Dr. Chen froze. *No way. Did I actually hit the target?*

“Walls surround this room. That sound… shouldn’t be possible. Unless…”

Wait. Ghosts can’t be hit by cake.

Hold on… these cakes had been sitting beside the jar for days, hadn’t they?
