Chapter 27: Nailed It!
update icon Updated at 2026/5/15 8:30:02

For the past few days, Mulan had been pretending to be a harmless little fox.

She even acted as lethargic as a sloth to avoid raising suspicion.

Tolerable for a moment—unbearable after days. She was about to go stir-crazy.

Mulan glanced back at the dazed Qingqiu Zili and felt a strange sense of déjà vu.

The innocent maiden’s vacant eyes made her look like a pure flower ripe for the taking, radiating dangerously alluring charm.

Was the Azurehill Fox Clan’s Charm Magic truly just charm?

It felt more like sinister hypnosis.

Mulan waved her tiny hand before Qingqiu Zili’s eyes—no reaction.

“Wow~ Way too effective!”

What Mulan didn’t know: the Charm Magic’s potency relied entirely on the caster’s own allure.

Greater charm meant stronger effect. Ordinary fox clan members’ charm wasn’t this extreme.

Qingqiu Zili fell so easily because she trusted Mulan deeply. Mulan herself was an Azure Fox—a being of immense magnetism to foxes. With high goodwill as the foundation, charm escalating to hypnosis was practically guaranteed.

Mulan hadn’t meant to prank her.

She *was* tempted to ruffle the Princess’s fluffy tail for earlier disrespect… but priorities first.

How long would the charm last?

“Hmm. Might as well put her to sleep. Deal with it tomorrow.”

Decision made.

She’d only used Charm Magic to avoid being treated like a plush doll tucked between legs.

Now that Qingqiu Zili was charmed? Perfect chance to tuck her in—and snuggle on that tail!

Yep. Mulan was totally eyeing that tail.

But then—unexpected.

Qingqiu Zili’s eyes cleared. She blinked, slightly disoriented.

“Hmm… What just happened?”

Mulan froze.

Charm wore off?

So fast?!

Oh no—

No time to shift back!

Miscalculation.

She *was* a potent caster… but Qingqiu Zili was also a three-tailed Azure Fox. Naturally resistant.

More tails might’ve prolonged it. Too bad.

Fully awake, Qingqiu Zili noticed the anomaly.

The little Azure Fox pup—Azurefox Wuyue—was gone. In her place sat a petite fox-girl on the bed. Qingqiu Zili’s eyes widened, mind racing.

“Are you… Wuyue!?”

Azure hair. Three fluffy tails. Petite frame fitting a young fox.

If Wuyue took human form? Exactly this.

No mistake—this was Azurefox Wuyue!

Mulan stayed silent, mind racing: *How to bluff past this excited fox-girl?*

Use Charm Magic again?

No.

A chance to communicate. Maybe drop the fox disguise.

“Hello. I’m Wuyue.”

Direct admission confirmed Qingqiu Zili’s hope—excitement surged.

“It’s really you! You can take human form?! Why only now? And… I felt charmed earlier. Did you use Charm Magic on your big sister?”

Qingqiu Zili wasn’t foolish—she sensed things.

Mulan guiltily looked away. Her three tails lay limp on the bed, utterly lifeless.

*Who knows?*

*She did nothing~*

“Never mind.”

The innocent Princess brushed it off.

What mattered now: human-form Wuyue!

With cute little sister Wuyue like this, bonding would be so much easier!

But Qingqiu Zili frowned again.

“Hmm? Wuyue… why do I feel we’ve met before?”

“Umm…”

Mulan dared not meet her eyes. Guilt deepened.

What changed? Fox ears. Fluffy tail. Pink hair turned azure.

Face unchanged. Golden eyes still striking.

She’d seen Mulan in the basement. Might remember everything.

*If only she were a silly, airheaded fox…*

Alas. Unlikely.

Qingqiu Zili’s gaze sharpened. Eyes locked onto Mulan’s, bright with realization.

“I remember! This face—I saw it before! A human? No… Wait—you’re an Azure Fox!?”

Mulan lunged, clamping a hand over her mouth. The girl’s lips felt soft as jelly.

“Mmmph! Mmmph~”

Qingqiu Zili blinked innocently, no resistance.

After all—it was adorable Azurefox Wuyue pinning her down. Not a hated human. Scent and bloodline resonance never lied.

Then—the door opened. A chain reaction began.

“Princess Zili, I sensed Charm Magic fluctuations next door. What occurred?”

Moling Qingqiu stepped in, instantly spotting the two slender figures on the bed.

An unfamiliar fox-girl pinned the noble Princess down, hand firmly over her mouth—as if hiding truth.

Mulan froze again. Her three tails went rigid.

Qingqiu Zili alone? Manageable.

But Moling Qingqiu—a six-tailed Black Fox at the terrifying Moonfall Rank? Hopeless.

“Hmm…”

Moling Qingqiu observed the scene, nodding thoughtfully. A dainty fist rested under her chin.

“Ah. I see. Under Princess Zili’s sincere affection, Wuyue’s emotional walls finally crumbled. She chose to drop her disguise and connect heart-to-heart. But overwhelmed by the Princess’s excitement, shy Wuyue—fearing attention—impulsively pinned her down and covered her mouth in flustered panic. Am I correct?”

A mischievous smile played on her lips. Fascinated. This would be explosive gossip across the entire Azure Fox Realm.

Mulan tilted her head slightly at the utterly nonsensical analysis.

*Pfft! Like hell!*

What happened to the Charm Magic you sensed?!

You’re totally here for the show, aren’t you?!
