Chapter 8: There’s a Deal This Good?
update icon Updated at 2026/4/29 18:07:56

Before she knew it,

the basement was left with only a fox and a loli.

“Mm...”

Mulan crouched down and stared at the fox ball curled into itself.

Its cyan fur looked soft and sleek, clearly very well cared for.

One look was enough to tell this fox had been living very well.

She just didn’t know what it would feel like to touch.

Mulan had always liked fluffy little animals.

Especially cats and dogs, the kind that felt incredibly soothing to pet.

Even getting beaten to death by a dog in her previous life hadn’t made her hate them.

Anyway, that was the owner’s fault.

All she could do was wish for that whole family to blow up.

Back to the point.

Mulan had never seen a fox in real life before.

At most, she’d only seen a few through a screen.

Now that she was seeing one in person, she couldn’t help feeling curious.

In just a few short seconds,

Mulan had almost leaned in to give it a pat.

The temptation was seriously off the charts.

It was like walking down the street and suddenly spotting a cute stray cat sunbathing.

You’d always get the urge to reach out.

As for whether you’d get scratched or bitten, that depended on luck.

Mulan held herself back.

She wasn’t dumb enough to casually pet an unknown creature.

Creatures in another world were all dangerous.

That harmless-looking fox ball might be able to tear her to pieces in an instant.

Mulan knew herself well.

At the very least, before she taught that insubordinate Mirophiel a proper lesson, she absolutely couldn’t die that easily.

Just then, Mulan noticed the furball huddled in the corner finally move.

“It moved.”

A flash of cyan light swept past.

The fox ball in the corner gradually puffed up.

It looked even fluffier now.

“It got bigger.”

A magical scene unfolded before Mulan’s eyes.

She suddenly really wanted to pounce on it and feel that fluffy touch for herself.

It would definitely feel amazing.

But the change wasn’t over.

The dim basement couldn’t hide the furball’s striking radiance.

The tightly curled fur slowly spread apart.

Very soon, it revealed what had been inside all along.

A slender girl sat on the floor in a daze.

A gorgeous cyan outfit covered the slightly immature curves of her body.

Three large fluffy tails swayed gently behind her.

It looked like she was shaking them back and forth to soften up fur that hadn’t moved in a long time.

Her long cyan hair was about the same color as the fur on her tails, smooth and hanging down like the finest silk.

Beneath her delicate brows was a pair of gorgeous cyan eyes that could steal souls. Her thin crimson lips parted slightly, as if speaking the feelings in her heart.

Mulan finally believed this really was a princess from some kingdom.

There really were a lot of heart-stealing beauties in this other world.

At that moment, the fox princess finally noticed Mulan not far away.

Strong confusion welled up in her cyan eyes.

“Hm? Who are you?”

“I am the legendary Plunder Witch!”

Even after turning into a girl, Mulan still hadn’t lost that chuuni soul of showing off carved into her bones.

Borrowing Mirophiel’s name to act cool should be fine, right?

It was still better than the Starplucking Princess, who was so distant hardly anyone knew her.

“Hmph~ Stop lying. The Plunder Witch is obviously a stunning girl with black hair and red eyes. How could she be a little shrimp like you?”

The fox princess gave a clever little snort.

“You’re the Plunder Witch’s servant, aren’t you?”

That instantly pissed Mulan off.

“The hell you mean! Who’s her servant? She’s my servant!”

The fox princess blinked, a little unable to figure out what was going on.

But she didn’t care much about that.

She happily stood up. The big tails behind her swayed back and forth as she walked up to Mulan impatiently, every move giving off a lively, jumpy feeling.

“This princess doesn’t care about that. Since you stay by the Plunder Witch’s side, you should know her general personality. May I ask how she treats her own people?”

“Uh... what?”

Mulan really couldn’t understand this big-tailed fox’s train of thought.

How did Mirophiel treat her own people?

Probably pretty well.

At least Sia had been living very well under her.

She was a noble elf, yet she was willing to serve someone like that.

Even if Mirophiel often went out plundering, she probably wasn’t cruel by nature.

Of course, that was only Mulan’s basic judgment.

She stared at the fox princess before her, obvious confusion surfacing in her golden eyes.

“Aren’t you scared? You were kidnapped from home by an evil witch and dragged into some unknown demon den. No matter how you think about it, that’s awful, right?”

“Awful? This princess doesn’t think so at all. If anything, it feels free and exciting!”

The fox princess showed a cheerful smile, without the slightest fear she should’ve had.

Did this kid get her brain broken during the kidnapping?

Pity rose in Mulan’s eyes.

She was wondering whether she should ask Mirophiel if she had any magic for treating brains.

This girl was obviously so pretty. Wouldn’t it be a waste if she turned out to be an idiot?

The moment the fox princess saw Mulan’s expression, she quickly guessed Mulan was questioning her intelligence.

The girl immediately widened her cyan eyes, looking adorably fierce like she was about to bite someone.

“How rude! This princess is the princess of the Azurehill Fox Clan—Qingqiu Zili! I could take human form before I was even two. I grew three tails by fifteen, and now at seventeen, I’m about to grow my fourth! I am not some little fox cub whose brain hasn’t fully developed!”

“Wow.”

Mulan couldn’t help letting out a sigh of amazement.

She knew the strength ranking system of the Qingqiu Nine-Tailed Foxes.

Growing one tail meant rising one rank in power.

Qingqiu Zili having three tails meant she had the strength of the Starry Rain Tier.

Though she was much weaker than Mirophiel and Sia, she was still more than enough to deal with Mulan with ease.

At this point, Mulan had no choice but to admit Qingqiu Zili was stronger.

Of course, she still felt there was something wrong with her intelligence.

Would a normal fox act like this?

No, wait.

A normal fox wouldn’t even be able to talk.

It definitely couldn’t turn into a girl, either.

Seeing Mulan’s admiring expression, Qingqiu Zili immediately puffed out her immature chest proudly.

Her curves barely rose at all, yet somehow her confidence was sky-high.

“Hmph hmph~ Now you know fear, right?”

Mulan tilted her head, puzzled.

Why should she be afraid?

Even if Qingqiu Zili had Starry Rain Tier strength and could pin her to the ground with ease, she still wouldn’t be able to hurt her.

Mirophiel’s barrier magic had already been set up here.

No matter how strong Qingqiu Zili was, she couldn’t break through that safeguard.

Thinking that, Mulan stepped forward with full confidence and likewise puffed out the slight curve of her own chest.

She was this tiny, yet she still dared to provoke someone stronger.

“Scared my ass. So what if you’ve got three tails? I’m not even afraid of the Plunder Witch, let alone a green little fox like you.”

Qingqiu Zili was so angry that the fur on her tails puffed right up.

“Hah! You hateful human! How dare you speak to this princess like that? If this were the Azure Fox Realm, this princess would definitely have the elders capture you and make you my servant! Then you’d have no choice but to help this princess bathe, change clothes, and give massages! If this princess wasn’t satisfied, I’d punish you hard with my big tails!”

“There’s a deal that good?”

Mulan’s cherry lips parted slightly in surprise.

She was genuinely amazed by how innocent Qingqiu Zili was.

Even the way she described punishment sounded completely toothless.

Why did she feel so easy to trick?

Qingqiu Zili wasn’t just a breathtakingly beautiful girl.

She was also a fluffy big-tailed fox.

And the number of tails she could have in the future might even reach an astonishing nine.

Helping her bathe, change clothes, and get massages wasn’t a punishment. Wasn’t that a reward?

Looks like her clan had protected her very well. She hadn’t been polluted by the outside world at all.

Just then, Qingqiu Zili twitched her small nose. Her eyes locked onto Mulan, suddenly lighting up, and the three big tails behind her stirred restlessly.

Her earlier displeasure vanished at once.

“Human, this princess has been smelling the scent of Violet Crystal Grape on you for a while now.”

“Hm?”

“This princess can forgive your disrespect from earlier, on one condition—you must offer up some delicious Violet Crystal Grapes!”
