Chapter 3: The Fox Spirit Within

“What on earth am I doing?”

I stared blankly at my surroundings. If not for the lingering warmth and faint trace of saliva on my lips—and the unconscious girl beside me—I’d have sworn this was all a dream.

Just moments ago, I—a guy who’d never even held a girl’s hand—had forced a kiss on her. Then… it felt like I’d drawn something from her mouth. Not sweet saliva, but a wispy, gaseous substance.

It was… euphoric. A blissful, floating sensation washed over me, and the gnawing hunger in my stomach vanished.

“Hey… are you okay? Wake up!”

I gently patted the pale-faced girl. She’d collapsed right after the kiss. She was still breathing, but panic clawed at me—if she died, wouldn’t I be a murderer?

[Relax. She won’t die. Just a spiritual energy deficiency. She’ll sleep it off.]

That voice echoed in my head again. This time, I didn’t flinch. I looked down at my own body and asked, “Who are you? Why are you inside me?”

After everything that happened, I’d pieced it together: something had possessed me. Female. Bewitching. Fed on yin energy. A ghost? A demon?

[Watch your tone, human! You dare not question this one! But since you’re my vessel… I’ll indulge you.]

The haughty voice paused.

[I am a Fox Demon stripped of my physical form, temporarily residing within you. You need not ask my name—you’re unworthy. Remember this: you belong to me. Obey, and no harm shall touch you.]

Exactly as I suspected. Though… a Fox Demon? So fox spirits *are* real.

“And if I refuse? Will you kill me?” I swallowed hard, voice trembling.

[You lack the right *and* the power to resist. I could erase your mind and puppet your body—but I choose not to. Obey me. Once my goal is achieved, I’ll leave… and grant one wish.]

Her voice was sweet, ethereal in my mind. Haughty, yet strangely soothing.

“Why should I trust you? You could just ditch me for a new host.”

[Why would I? This body… I quite like it. Comfortable.]

My hands moved on their own, tracing my arms with delicate care—as if admiring a treasured artifact.

“One last question: why is my body changing? Beard gone… skin smoother?”

[Well~ This one is female. My demonic energy is deeply yin. As it seeps into you… feminization is only natural.]

“…”

Damn it! What the hell?! Feminization?! Turning me into a cross-dresser? A… moe girl? A trap?! No way! I’m one hundred percent straight male!

“Is there *really* no way out?” I gritted out, fists clenched.

[None. Unless you help me absorb balanced yin and yang spiritual energy. Warning: at this rate, full feminization completes in one month.]

“Fine! I agree! But *no one gets hurt*!”

I caved. Becoming some genderless freak was my worst nightmare. For now, surrender was the only choice.

[Good boy. Now go find a new target. We took yin energy just now—next, we need yang for balance.]

“Yang energy… We’ll figure it out at school. I’m late.”

I settled the girl gently against the wall, slung my backpack on, and stepped out of the alley.

The Fox Demon said they’d wake with no memory of this. Still, guilt twisted in my chest. I called an ambulance.

Only after watching the lights fade into the distance did I finally walk away, heart heavy but relieved.
