Chapter 33: I Will Not Rescind This Edic

Oh my god~~ The captain actually listened so obediently? Am I seeing things?

So the captain has this cute side too… I’m totally melting.

First time ever seeing the goddess-like captain like this.

After witnessing Aifei nestled in my arms, the squad members were utterly stunned—she seemed like a completely different person from their perspective.

“Since it’s come to this, let’s move out immediately,” Aide said coldly to the guards, unable to bear the scene any longer.

“Yes, let’s go!” the guard barked to the knights behind him. The squad instantly marched forward upon hearing the order.

“My dignity is gone… Master, you *have* to take full responsibility for me, waaah~”

Aifei’s face burned crimson. This was the first time she’d felt such crushing shame. How could she possibly drill troops after this? Wait—hadn’t she planned to resign after this mission? Still… so embarrassing~~~~

This scene feels oddly familiar… like something from a certain book.

Aifei suddenly recalled those erotic manga panels: the humiliated female knight, her dignity trampled step by step by the male lead, trained through countless methods until she became…

Ah! What am I even thinking?! Am I a pervert?!

Flustered, Aifei clapped both hands over her face, utterly mortified.

“Aifei, don’t dwell on others’ opinions. You know your own state best. Remember this: true strength ignores distractions—especially for a knight,” I said earnestly, paying no mind to her fluster.

“I know~~ Master,” Aifei murmured softly, then drifted right back into her daydreams.

“By the way, you *do* know why your father’s heading to the Tianduo Republic, right?” I asked, curious about Aide’s motives.

“You don’t know? It’s hardly a secret in our kingdom.”

“Cut the chatter.”

“Yes~”

Another exchange of the same pattern.

“Our mission to Tianduo Republic has two goals: exchange goods to show goodwill, and secure cooperation against the Demonkin invasion. Recently, Bailie—one of the Three Demon Generals—issued an attack order to western human nations, vowing slaughter if we refuse surrender.”

“What about Hero Cherthesis? Wouldn’t victory be easy with him?”

“Not so simple. Chelseas is still an immature Champion. Many say he can’t yet defeat the Three Demon Generals. He needs more training. This will be a brutal fight,” Aifei said, a trace of resolve in her voice.

“Oh~~ So this unripe Champion dared challenge the Dreadwyrm?”

“The expedition was his own proposal. He claimed the Dreadwyrm was isolated—attack while it slept, and victory was certain. And it played out exactly as he said.”

“I see~~~”

Hearing this, my expression darkened.

*That Champion… better off dead. No—make him suffer first.*

Ah—ah-choo!

“Your Highness Chelseas, caught a cold?” the middle-aged king, robed in royal crimson and crowned, asked with concern toward the throne’s left.

“No. Someone must be thinking of me,” Chelseas replied.

“Enough. Messenger sent by my brother Aide—speak your piece,” the king turned to the servant kneeling on the floor.

“His Highness the Prince urges you to rescind the marriage decree…”

“Jesting? My decree is Sradon Kingdom’s unbreakable law! Speak plainly—even if I commanded you to slay a god, you’d obey. A royal order is never withdrawn!” the king cut in coldly.

“But the one who desires Aifei… we *cannot* afford to offend him. Recall yesterday’s magical surge? *He* caused it.”

“Hah! So what if he did? Can Sradon Kingdom’s entire army not overwhelm one man? And we have the dragon-slaying Champion Chelseas! No more words. The decree stands. Dismissed!” the king declared with solemn finality.

“Understood,” the servant sighed, bowed, and withdrew.

“Ah—Your Highness Chelseas!”

After a few steps, the servant spun back abruptly.

“Oh~~ What is it?”

“That man also sent a message for you: *‘How does your comrade’s blood taste on your hands? And… do you remember those eyes?’* That’s all. Farewell.”

With that, the servant retreated silently.
