The first ray of morning sunlight shone into the top-floor cafeteria of the Hamiyou building. When Ou Tao woke up, it was already ten o’clock.

What surprised him even more was that Sister Su hadn’t had the bodyguards carry him to a bed. She’d simply let him sleep with his head on her beautiful thighs for the entire night.

Ou Tao quickly sat up. He saw faint, fine creases on her originally smooth, full thighs, pressed there by his hair. Su Lianxue seemed to be canceling today’s schedule.

Ou Tao noticed a tiny burn mark in her palm. It had been caused by an electromagnetic spark. That made him remember the quantum fluctuation from last night, when she helped him take off his helmet.

She was chatting with her manager, saying she wanted to rest for the day and wouldn’t be doing the hand-model ad for Estée Lauder. Could that be because of him?

“Sister Su, thank you for last night!” Ou Tao lowered his head as he spoke. “I even made your legs look bad from pressing on them!”

“Happy Christma, little brother. It’s fine. It’ll recover soon enough. The media even call me the woman with the strongest legs,” Su Lianxue said as she rubbed Ou Tao’s head.

She wanted to stand up, but her legs suddenly slipped. He had used them as a pillow all night, after all. Her thighs had gone numb, and she couldn’t keep her balance.

Ou Tao immediately stood up. Just like she had supported him last night, he caught her, then gently helped her back into the seat.

Su Lianxue had already told the chefs to keep breakfast warm in insulated lunch boxes. It was toast, and Ou Tao immediately thought of Ke Er in the other world.

He asked Bika about the situation over there after he had logged off.

“Sir, for today, you won’t need to log in for the time being. Some of the weaker villagers seem to have caught colds from last night’s cold wind. They’ll be resting for the day. To ensure safety, they’ve sealed the cave entrance completely. Even if you log in now, you’d just be sitting in the cave in the other world all day.”

“Looks like little brother gets a day off today,” Su Lianxue said, propping up her chin with one hand. She speared a sausage with her fork, slowly brought it to her mouth, then bit down.

“If you keep doing that, I can sue you for seducing an underage boy,” Ou Tao sighed. “Seriously, I was planning to join the Snow Festival event today.”

“The storm stopped last night. The number of snowmen seems fixed. You already cut down most of the snowmen on the mountain last night, so the terrain advantage there is gone now. Even if you log in, you won’t gain much in the short term. Your luck was only so-so. The only rare material you got last night was that Saintess fragment. Deng Meng from Pod No. 7 got insanely lucky last night. In the middle of the melee, he just hacked around and somehow popped out three hundred white-scarf snowmen, then got a fully equipped level-35 legendary sword.”

“What? You can do that too? Open up a pile of white-scarf snowmen from the bellies of black-and-white-scarf snowmen?” Ou Tao thought to himself that when it came to luck, it really wasn’t about what the unlucky couldn’t imagine, but what the lucky couldn’t fail to pull.

“Ugh...” Ou Tao sighed. Still, getting a soul fragment of Saintess Amalia wasn’t bad either. Of course, it would only be a huge win if he could collect the whole set. If he couldn’t, then it just meant his lucky ancestors weren’t blessing him.

“Oh, right, little brother.” Su Lianxue suddenly said, “Who do you think is prettier, me or Saintess Amalia?”

Ou Tao saw the fork in her hand suddenly twist in a bizarre way. With both hands, she bent it directly into an S-shape. How was Sister Su this strong? Had he shown something weird on his face just now while imagining Saintess Amalia’s holy body?

Ou Tao’s survival instinct instantly kicked in. He hurriedly said, “Of course you’re prettier, Sister Su!”

“Mhm.” Su Lianxue smiled in satisfaction. The fork in her hand was finally spared further abuse and taken away by a bodyguard to be thrown out.

“In that case, to verify whether little brother is telling the truth, you’ll be spending your whole day off with me today.”

“That’s... not impossible.” Ou Tao held his forehead with one hand. “But I need to make a trip to Guan City. What happened last night really drove it home for me. People have limits, but a team is different. That guy should be able to help a lot. If he’d been there last night, he would’ve taken a lot of pressure off me.”

“Alright, big sister will drive you there,” Su Lianxue said with a smile, and then...

“Vrrrrm, vrrrrm—”

The Maserati Type-77 maglev car flew low over the highway at 280, its engine roaring like a savage beast.

Ou Tao was so scared his face turned pale. He was plastered against the seat, thinking, Dear heavens, slow down! My heart’s about to get flung out by the inertia!

“Haha!” Su Lianxue let out a bold laugh. Behind her sunglasses, her beautiful eyes stayed locked on the road ahead. “It’s all your fault, you little brat. You made my legs go numb last night, so my feet aren’t exactly under control now!”

Then, like a hero riding into battle, she flicked back her long hair, floored the accelerator, and the tachometer needle shot forward like it had gone mad.

They set out from Baiyun Airport in Yang City, passed East Station, crossed Pu County, took the G1508 Expressway, and entered the Guantai Interchange. After getting off the bridge and passing the Baishi Mountain Scenic Area, Su Lianxue suddenly slowed down, got out, and looked toward the distant mountain range. A slight trace of remembrance and sorrow flickered in her eyes.

“What’s wrong?”

“I suddenly thought of someone. I want to go take a look. Are you in a hurry? Is someone bidding against us?”

“Tch, bidding? That guy got himself into trouble. He can’t even compete anymore. So no rush. If there’s someone you want to see, Sister Su, then go ahead.”
