Chapter 33: Bath

Saturday slipped by. As dusk settled, the three girls finally trudged back to their dorm and instinctively flopped onto their beds.

Today had been exhausting—mostly emotionally.

Qiu Li'er never imagined Detective C would turn out to be such a sly little loli. Meanwhile, Nan Shi and Yuenina had helplessly watched their Little Fox get cozy with her.

Three times! A full three times! Tail-petting in the park, fake kissing in the library, spanking on the rooftop… Thinking it over, Qiu Li'er really hadn’t acted very… human.

Well, she wasn’t human. She was a fox girl.

“Little Fox, how did your chat with Xi Xi go?” Yuenina asked.

Qiu Li'er pondered. “Hmm… I think she’s kinda cute.”

Yuenina’s frustration flared. “Who asked that? I meant the investigation!”

“The investigation… She agreed. Even offered to be my bodyguard.”

Qiu Li'er paused, omitting the lewd pictures part—it was just too embarrassing.

“A bodyguard?” Yuenina frowned. “Isn’t she a detective? Why bodyguard? You’ve got us—we’re more than enough.”

Nan Shi chimed in, “Exactly! Don’t we follow you 24/7? Eating, sleeping, even bathroom breaks?”

Qiu Li'er nodded thoughtfully. Oh, right—when *didn’t* she see them, aside from showers and toilet breaks? Truly the most devoted roommates ever.

“Well… I didn’t know you two were *this* amazing back then,” Qiu Li'er said innocently, blinking. “Walking through walls, flying…”

She’d once thought they were just ordinary students who maybe tossed a fireball or two. Never expected *this*.

Nan Shi immediately turned away. “Hmph… Forget it. Pretend I said nothing. I’m hungry.”

“Ah! How about Little Fox makes us something?” Yuenina switched topics. “We haven’t tasted your cooking yet.”

“Sure, but the dorm’s low on ingredients,” Qiu Li'er mused. “How about… I cook noodles for you?”

“Really?!” Nan Shi lit up. “You said it!”

Yuenina shot her a look. “Idiot. That meme’s been dead for years.”

Qiu Li'er gave her tail a soft swish, said nothing, and quietly went to boil noodles.

At Lilith Academy, dorms allowed cooking—no strict power limits. Fires? Extinguished with magic. Smoke? Vented via arrays. Super convenient.

Soon, three steaming bowls arrived. Nan Shi and Yuenina devoured them, praising Qiu Li'er’s skills loudly.

“No wonder you’re Little Fox—your noodles hit different.”

“Sign up for cooking class next semester? After graduation, come be my stay-at-home little wife.”

Qiu Li'er flushed, eyes downcast, avoiding their gazes.

She recalled Xi Xi’s words: Nan Shi and Yuenina’s strong possessiveness… Yeah, probably true. Gotta be careful around them now.

At least stop being so passive—or she’d keep getting teased.

After clearing the table and sitting quietly awhile, bath time arrived again.

“Little Fox~ Yuenina~”

Same spot by the bathroom door. Same nearly naked Nan Shi. Same daily line: “Wanna shower with me?”

Yuenina kept reading, not glancing up. “Our relationship isn’t there yet.”

Same script. Daily ritual. Normally, Qiu Li'er would shyly refuse, and Nan Shi would slip in alone…

Qiu Li'er replied: “Sure.”

“Oh, too bad,” Nan Shi said casually, one foot in the doorway. “I’ll go first—wait WAIT WAIT! Little Fox, you *agreed*?!”

“Huh?!”

Yuenina looked up, stunned. “You’re showering with Nan Shi?!”

“Y-yes?” Qiu Li'er flinched at their shock. “Is… that not allowed?”

She just felt tired of being teased daily. Time to flip the script.

No prior experience in her past life, but—they were all girls. Showering together? Should be fine. A bonding thing, right?

…And honestly, she’d always kinda admired Nan Shi’s figure. *That* mattered most.

“Ah! Of course, of course!” Nan Shi recovered fast, smiling softly. “Hurry up and undress, come in~”

Watching Qiu Li'er unbutton her top while shyly stepping toward Nan Shi, Yuenina clenched her teeth.

“Wait—I’m joining too!”

“Huh?!”

Both girls exclaimed. Qiu Li'er stayed calm; Nan Shi was utterly shocked.

She knew Yuenina’s shyness well. Expecting her to accept flirtatious invites was likelier than Little Fox obediently raising her tail.

But seeing Qiu Li'er and Nan Shi about to enter together? Yuenina couldn’t stay seated.

Honesty wasn’t scary. Being the odd one out in a trio dorm *was*.

“W-what? Not welcome?”

Face flushed, Yuenina mimicked Qiu Li'er, unbuttoning her top—revealing a chest slightly flatter than theirs.

“No! Warmly welcome…”

“Let’s go in. It’s chilly out here.”

The bathroom door clicked shut. Room 123’s trio began their first shared bath.

Steam curled through the air. Heat fogged the white tiles. Clothes slipped away. Three flawless, jade-pale bodies emerged like peeled corn cobs, carrying a faint, sweet scent.

“Shower first? Or…”

“Doesn’t matter. Soaking feels better.”

“Let’s soak. Tub’s big enough.”

Truth was, shyness made soaking feel safer.

Maybe the academy anticipated this—every dorm had a spacious tub for group soaks.

(Though a *little* crowding wouldn’t hurt.)

Heads lowered, they sank into the water up to their necks. Light rippled through the waves, softly gilding their fair skin.

Curled against the tub’s curve, their bare feet met in the center.

Qiu Li'er rested her soaked tail between her legs, swaying it gently. Cheeks pink, she kept her eyes down.

Now that it was happening, she fell quiet. Only the water’s soft lap remained—and the unspoken feelings swirling beneath the surface.
