30 First Feeding

A rush of air flooded Luo Ling’s lungs, his ribcage expanding slightly. Xiao You immediately began the next round of chest compressions.

Just as she delivered the second mouth-to-mouth breath, his body reacted—but wrong.

He was sucking her in!

Worse, he clung like a vacuum cleaner, refusing to let go. Panic seized Xiao You.

She struggled to push him away, but his arms locked around her like a vise—inescapable.

“Mmm! Mmm!”

*Wait—don’t come in!*

Her mouth was pried open, thoroughly searched.

“Could this be… what people call… a French…”

Her heart hammered. Heat flushed her cheeks.

She felt Luo Ling greedily drawing something from her…

Meanwhile, Luo Ling—freshly tossed into the “dark room”—was shamefully wondering if Mom would rescue him. Then, a speck of light appeared. It swelled, flooding the black void with radiance.

Regaining partial senses, he blinked open his eyes. Through the haze, a dazed, flushed face hovered close.

Mind still foggy, he only knew this felt *good*. Warmth flowed into him, revitalizing every cell, tinged with elusive euphoria.

*What am I even doing?*

Clarity struck: he was caught mid–*certain*… intimate act, cradling a petite girl in his arms, both lying on the ground.

Her flushed cheeks, hazy eyes—*zap!*—his brain short-circuited. He shoved her gently aside.

“Th-this… I-I…"

Words failed him. Flustered, he stared at Shi Wuyou—blissful, dazed on the grass—utterly lost.

Thank goodness no one saw. Otherwise, he’d never live it down.

He took shaky breaths, propped the still-groggy Shi Wuyou against a tree, and fled.

Running before she woke felt cowardly… but facing her? Impossible.

Back in the dorm, he mumbled greetings, asked roommates to request leave. No need to fake illness—his pale, hollow face screamed exhaustion. The vital energy stolen from Shi Wuyou had restored only ten percent of his magic. Hunger still gnawed.

“But… was *that* a succubus’s feeding?”

Once alone, Luo Ling locked the door, drew the curtains, and shifted back to her true form—Ling Luo—collapsing into her chair.

Boys’ dorm. Shi Wuyou couldn’t barge in. Safe.

“But… isn’t it supposed to be with a guy? Wait—Mom never actually said that!”

The realization hit hard. She almost slammed her head on the desk… then remembered *ouch*.

“Damn it, Mom! Always messing with me!” Ling Luo growled, pounding the desk (Table HP -1). The cup jumped.

“If I’d known this, why chase contracts?! Just go after girls—problem solved!” she declared her player… wait, *playgirl* remarks.

But truth? This innocent succubus would probably freeze mid-act, get pinned down, and beg for mercy.

And with her traditional values? She’d never taint someone’s purity. Sure enough, the flustered little succubus curled in her chair, guilt weighing heavy.

“That guy’s annoying… but I stole her first kiss. I *should* take responsibility… except my ‘tools’ are fake. How?!”

She clutched her little head, utterly distressed.

Meanwhile, Shi Wuyou—“abandoned” roadside—stirred awake.

She scanned the area. Empty.

“Where’d he go? Is he… okay?”

A guy his size couldn’t vanish. Either he left recovered… or was carried off.

“Guessing’s useless. Just call him.”

Xiao You pulled up the class contact list, dialed Luo Ling’s number.

*“Though my wings’ve been bloodstained and could never rid.*

*I'll try hard to soar to the heaven I dreamed.”*

The ringtone blared. Ling Luo—still agonizing over compensation—jolted upright.

Fumbling the phone, she checked the screen.

“Unknown number… answer?”

Flustered, she almost dismissed it. *Unless it’s spam… perfect stress relief.*

“Which voice? Both? A little duet?” She smirked, swiping to answer—

“Hello? Is this Luo Ling? Are you okay? Where are you?”

*Shi Wuyou?! How—?*

Ah. Class contact book. Right.

“Hello? Anyone there?”

“Ah… y-yes. It’s Luo Ling.”

“Really you? How do you feel?” Wuyou’s voice softened with worry.

“I’m… fine. Back in the dorm.”

“*Fine*? You weren’t breathing!”

“I’ll… get checked. Don’t worry, Wuyou. Class has plans—I’d feel bad making you skip. Roommate’s handling leave.”

“…Okay. Take care.”

“Thanks. Bye.”

*Xiao You hung up. Relief washed over her.*

“Wait… why does my mouth taste faintly of… strawberry?”
