21 Tail Yanked

"Guess who I am?"

The other ignored Ling Luo’s prank and simply turned around. That single motion startled her so badly she tumbled straight to the ground.

"Ouch… H-how can it be *you*?!" Rubbing her sore bottom, Ling Luo pointed a trembling finger.

One glance at that face, and recognition clicked—Shi Wuyou, the Demon Hunter girl.

"You’re… the girl from two nights ago?!"

Xiao You recognized her too. But this time, her eyes locked onto Ling Luo’s tail—and instinctively, her hand reached out and grabbed it.

A full-body shiver shot through Ling Luo, followed by a squeaky cry—

"Eep! Why’d you grab my tail?!"

She yanked it back instantly, clutching it close like a startled little creature guarding its treasure.

"I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to… I was just curious…" Xiao You apologized, noticing the faint blush dusting Ling Luo’s cheeks.

"Curious?! That doesn’t give you the right to touch my tail! It’s super sensitive!" Ling Luo snapped, voice sharp with anger. No one but Mom had ever touched it—and it *was* a sensitive spot. Of course she cared.

"I’m really, truly sorry…" Xiao You bowed her head again.

"Ugh, fine. Since you’re being so sincere… I’ll let it slide. I *am* magnanimous, after all."

Ling Luo hadn’t meant to be harsh. She was a girl—and a twin-tailed girl at that. How could anyone stay mad at such a gem? Honestly, the twin tails suited her perfectly. Ling Luo had even imagined her like this before. Petite frame, doll-like face—it totally worked. She just hadn’t recognized her at first because of the sudden hairstyle change. Hence… this mess.

"Thanks for forgiving me. Um… may I ask… what exactly are you… *thing*?"

Xiao You fumbled for words—clearly not human, but "thing" slipped out.

"I’m not a *thing*! Wait—that sounds insulting… I *am* a thing?! No, still insulting—!"

Ling Luo flustered, hands flapping.

"Ahhh—Forget it! Just know I’m a Succubus!"

Blunt confession felt like relief. Maybe still awkward… whatever.

"Succubus? So *you’re* the demon from the urban legend?"

"Yep. None other than this princess." Ling Luo puffed her tiny chest proudly—ignoring that Xiao You’s was a full cup bigger. Where’d *that* confidence come from?

"Uh… you’re a princess too?"

"Doubt me?"

"Well…"

"Whatever. I don’t care if you believe me."

"Ahaha… So, Your Highness, are you here to grant wishes?" Xiao You asked cautiously.

"Maybe~ If a mere mortal like you has one, this princess *might* oblige." Ling Luo smirked mischievously. Xiao You tensed.

"But… you’re a demon. Why grant wishes?"

"Never said it was *kind*. Just fulfilling a contract."

"A contract?"

"A demon contract. You mortals sign it, I grant the wish. Afterward? You pay the price—I collect it. Fair trade."

"But… it’s still dealing with a demon…"

"Exactly. Humans take risks for their goals. I use that. Win-win. Sounds nice, no?"

Ling Luo tilted her head 45 degrees, crimson eyes locking onto Shi Wuyou. A cold shiver raced down Wuyou’s spine.

*Gulp.* Xiao You swallowed hard.

Trembling but resolute, she stepped forward.

"Please… stop making demon contracts with people."

"Why should *this* princess obey a mortal? Laughable. My freedom. None of your business."

"Then… I’ll stop you." Weak, but said.

For a flicker, Ling Luo felt faint pressure—then gone.

"Try if you can. Farewell, mortal."

She turned to fly off. No contract vibes here. Just trouble. No time to waste.

"Wait!"

Xiao You lunged, hand instinctively snatching Ling Luo’s tail mid-takeoff—yanking her down face-first.

"Ah! Sorry! I didn’t mean to—"

Eyes watering, Ling Luo stood, shooting her a wounded glare. "You *knew* it’s sensitive! You—" Words died on her lips. She huffed.

"Goodbye! No—*never* see you again!"

She shot into the sky without looking back.

"Gone…" Xiao You whispered, staring at her palm. "So… I’ve made a demon my enemy?"

Head bowed, voice soft: "If it were you, Xiao Luo… what would you do…?"

Meanwhile, soaring high, Ling Luo clutched her lower abdomen, face tight with strain.

"Mmm… Damn it. Grabbed *twice*… and *now*? Right on *that* time of the month? Unbearable! Gotta find somewhere… *now*."

She scanned the horizon, urgently seeking privacy.
