Night fell, and one light after another came on across the university campus, carrying over the bustle from the day.
The library at the center of campus still had plenty of students inside, even at this hour, drifting through an ocean of knowledge. Probably. At least some of them were...
Wang Hong was a sophomore here. He had nothing planned for tonight, and as he passed by the library, he wandered in as if possessed. Then, in a daze, he took the elevator to the top floor, opened the iron door leading to the roof, and stepped outside.
"Wait, why did I even come to a pitch-black place like this? I'm not that bored... am I?"
He pulled out his phone to use as a flashlight. It was dark as hell up here. If he missed a step and took a fall, that definitely wouldn't feel good.
But when he unlocked the screen, he found the page still open on a forum post—
"The demon on the library rooftop... I only saw this post while scrolling during dinner, and somehow I actually ended up here on the library roof. Yeah, I really can't stay up too late anymore. I'm starting to sleepwalk while awake..."
Wang Hong was about to head back, but then he thought about it again. Since he was already here, leaving just like that felt like a waste. So he decided to try what the post said. He was kind of interested in urban legends, after all. Guys always had a few fantasies in their hearts.
"Face the direction where the moon rises... so, east. Ah, that's toward the Tianhua commercial district."
Under the night sky, the prosperous commercial district in the distance stood out at once, dotted with brilliant lights. From up high like this, it was even harder to ignore.
"And then... count from one to six in your heart, repeat it three times, and then you might see it. That's it? Sounds pretty simple. Good thing I don't have to say it out loud, or even I'd think I was losing it..."
So Wang Hong faced east and counted silently three times in his head.
After he finished, nothing happened.
All he could hear was the constant noise from the cooling tower equipment.
"I'm out, I'm out. I was just curious and wanted to try it. Better head back to the dorm and queue up some games."
He was just about to turn and leave when a burst of silver-bell laughter rang out nearby—
"Hehe. That's all the patience you've got, mortal?"
Wang Hong spun around and saw a petite figure emerge from the mottled light and shadow.
"Who's there?!"
He immediately shone his phone flashlight over.
And what he saw was a loli dressed like a little demon.
"Wah! What are you doing?! Flashing that at me out of nowhere is super rude, you know!"
The little demon seemed to have gotten her eyes blasted by the sudden bright light, and now she was getting annoyed.
"Sorry, sorry..."
Wang Hong quickly lowered his phone.
And in doing so, he lit up the little demon's revealing outfit. Her pale, bare midriff was especially dazzling, and a healthy young man like him simply couldn't look away.
"Hiss... whose kid is this? She's dressed way too boldly! Good thing I'm a firm big-boobs guy. No way I'd fall for a flat chest like... wait, maybe this works too?"
In just a few seconds, Wang Hong went through a whole dramatic inner monologue, and by the end of it, he had almost reached an understanding with the lolicon crowd.
"Hey! What are you spacing out for, mortal? Since you've summoned this princess, hurry up and state your wish. Don't waste my precious time!" the little demon said irritably.
"Ah, a wish? What wish?"
"Your heart's desire, obviously. Why else would you come here and summon this princess?" the little demon said, hands on her hips.
"Uh... let me think..."
So Wang Hong briefly explored human evolution, the origin of life, and the Big Bang inside his head, and finally arrived at one conclusion—
"Please marry me!" Wang Hong declared righteously.
Who cared about big-boob camp or flat-chest camp? Today, he was taking this little enchantress home as his wife!
"In your dreams!"
The little demon roared and sent him flying with a slap from afar. Luckily, she pulled him back at the last second. Otherwise, he would've become the first person in history to die from falling off a high-rise after getting slapped by a demon.
"I'm giving you one minute to reorganize your words. As for what happens if you say the wrong thing, you just experienced it yourself, didn't you?"
Wang Hong nodded like crazy. The sensation of falling just now had left his legs weak, and he had almost pissed himself.
After going through that, his head gradually cooled down, and he started thinking about the situation.
At first, he'd thought this was some kind of prank show, so he'd tossed out that line half-jokingly to see how she'd react. Instead, he'd taken a trip to death's door. In short, he'd played way too hard. After what he'd just experienced firsthand, he was basically certain he'd run into something supernatural.
"May I ask who you are?"
She had been calling herself "this princess" from the start, which had sounded kind of chuuni. But now that he thought about it, maybe she wasn't being chuuni at all. Maybe she really was some actual princess.
"I'm merely a passing Succubus princess. Remember that well." The little demon pointed at him with one finger.
"Yes, Your Highness..." Wang Hong replied with utmost respect.
A Succubus? Looking at how she was dressed, that did seem to fit. But at the same time, something felt off. Weren't succubi supposed to have huge boobs and big asses, pounce on their targets, and drain them dry? Why was she just leisurely standing here talking to him about wishes?
"It feels like you're thinking something very disrespectful about this princess," the Succubus princess said, staring straight into his eyes.
"I didn't, I wasn't, don't make things up!" His survival instinct kicked in hard, and he instantly fired off a triple denial. "It's just... you're a little different from the succubi I imagined..."
"You mean those low-class succubi with huge boobs and big asses who jump on anyone they see and drain them dry? I am a dignified princess, an elegant and noble being. Do not compare this princess to those gaudy sluts!"
"Your Highness is absolutely right. My horizons were too narrow..." Wang Hong flattered her repeatedly. "May I ask what business a noble princess like you could possibly have with an ordinary human like me?"
"To fulfill a demon contract, of course. And to get from you what I want~" she said in a slightly teasing tone, making Wang Hong's whole body jolt.
Flat as she was, unfortunately, her absurdly high looks, along with those seductive gestures and that tempting voice, were still more than enough to stir a guy like him. Guess that was a succubus for you.
"The way you're looking at me feels a little off. Are you having some filthy thoughts about this princess right now?"
"N-no, no, how would I dare..."
Weren't you the one teasing me? Why are you blaming me for reacting? Why does this princess feel so impossible to deal with... Wang Hong grumbled inwardly.
Even though he was bowing and scraping before the Succubus princess now, acting perfectly respectful on the surface, he was already starting to scheme in secret.
