2. An Encounter Between Two Lolis

“It’s those little booklets you boys are super interested in,” Mom said, like it was the most natural thing in the world.

“Huh?! M-Mom, what are you even saying?!”

Luo Ling quickly glanced around. Only after confirming no one was nearby did he relax a little, though he still looked badly startled. His face was already starting to redden.

Ever since Mom came clean about being a Succubus, she’d been cracking dirty jokes at home every now and then, talking completely off the rails. He’d barely built up some resistance to that stuff. But that was when he was in his original body. Right now, the still relatively innocent Luo Ling really couldn’t handle this kind of teasing. He looked exactly like a pure-hearted teenage boy.

“What kind of mother gives her son something like this...?”

That was what Luo Ling said, but his body was much more honest. He took the “little booklet” from Mom and quickly stuffed it into his backpack. He’d seen plenty of digital versions before, but this was his first time seeing a physical copy. Naturally, he had to study it properly.

Mom deliberately leaned in close and said in a slightly teasing tone, “And it’ll be very helpful for you right now too~”

Luo Ling’s face reddened a few more shades. Inside, though, he was complaining about what help this thing could possibly be. It probably wasn’t even as useful as his original body. Still, learning some new things wasn’t a bad idea.

“M-Mom, you’re messing with me again, aren’t you? D-Didn’t you say you were leaving? Then... hurry up and go...”

Luo Ling stumbled over his words as he tried to shoo her away. If she kept talking, his whole face was going to turn completely red.

“You were just trying to keep Mommy here, and now you’re chasing Mommy away. My life is so hard...” Mom said in a deliberately aggrieved voice, even adding a hint of a sob.

“Isn’t the reason obviously you?” Luo Ling felt a headache coming on.

“Haha, alright, I’ll stop teasing you. Time to say bye. Remember to take good care of yourself. If you run into any trouble, you can call Mom anytime. In every sense of the word.”

“Got it... You take care too, Mom.”

“Aww, my son really does care. Then I’m heading back.”

“Mm. Have a safe trip.”

After seeing Mom off, the rest of the day was completely Luo Ling’s to do with as he pleased.

So what should he do?

Head back to the dorm first?

No, no. Better take care of that important thing first.

“I’ve still got seventy percent of my magic left. If I keep the disguise up the whole time, it should last five days... The two contracts I completed in the first half of the month still have six portions of essence that haven’t come in yet. One portion should restore about ten to twenty percent of my magic. That should be enough for around a week. Looks like my magic reserves are pretty abundant.”

Ever since being locked in the “little black room” once, he’d started keeping a daily account of his magic. It had become part of his routine.

That time, he’d only entered a half-hour dormant state. But to him, it had felt as long as a century, and terrifying too. No matter how strong your mind was, it was hard to endure a state with no five senses and no sense of time passing.

So naturally, that important thing was related to contracts.

“Even if my magic is pretty abundant, I should still save where I can. First, I need to find a place to switch back to my original body.”

Luo Ling found an empty corner and turned back into that loli form. She was still wearing a T-shirt and shorts, though this time the T-shirt was light pink.

Ling Luo took a baseball cap and a pair of sunglasses out of her backpack and put them on. She’d originally wanted to bring those headphones too, but they were still in her laptop bag back at the dorm. She was too lazy to go back for them, so she let it go.

After tidying up her backpack and slinging it on again, this fully disguised loli set off.

Ling Luo moved her short little legs and strolled slowly along the campus road, glancing to both sides from time to time as if searching for something.

Along the way, quite a few people passed by her. Without exception, their gazes lingered on this slightly oddly dressed loli for a moment. Even though they couldn’t see her face clearly because of the cap and sunglasses, for some reason they still wanted to look at her.

Everyone who passed Ling Luo reacted like that. Quite a few of them even had the same question in their minds. This was because Ling Luo’s charm constitution was functioning normally.

She still attracted attention, but as long as people couldn’t see that absurdly high-spec face of hers, there wouldn’t be any major problems. After all, if you wanted to become famous, looks were still the key.

That was the experience Ling Luo had summed up after going out so many times. Even so, she still tried to avoid crowded places as much as possible. Otherwise, the scene would turn weird fast.

Just as Ling Luo was wandering aimlessly around campus, a panicked voice suddenly rang out behind her—

“Move! The people up ahead, move! My brakes are broken! Move!”

Ling Luo turned around and saw a bicycle speeding straight toward her.

This was a downhill stretch. The bike was already moving fast, so it was hard to stop all at once. And the person riding it was clearly panicking so badly they could barely control the direction. The pedestrians on the road were so startled that they immediately dodged to both sides.

By the time Ling Luo noticed, the bicycle was already very close. She had no choice but to dive toward the roadside, then hit the ground.

Luckily, there was a patch of grass there, so her skin didn’t get scraped. On top of that, a Succubus body was naturally pretty durable, so it wasn’t a big deal. Aside from the fact that the fall still hurt quite a bit.

It hurt enough to make her want to cry, but Ling Luo held it in. Two or three people had already gathered around her, asking if she was okay. Crying at a time like this would feel a little embarrassing.

With the help of the passersby, she got back on her feet. Just as she was about to say thank you, she noticed the way the people around her were looking at her seemed a little off.

They looked stunned.

“What’s wrong with you guys?”

One passerby snapped back to his senses and immediately pulled out his phone.

“Little sis, please, you have to let me take a picture of you!”

Then the other passersby also pulled out their phones one after another and said more or less the same thing.

“Huh?!”

Only then did Ling Luo realize her cap and sunglasses had fallen off.

Which meant her face had been seen in full.

People loved a spectacle. Seeing a crowd suddenly forming here, more and more people came over to join in. In the end, they surrounded the place layer after layer. Trapped in the very center, Ling Luo was at a complete loss as she dealt with all the passersby who wanted to take pictures of her.

Just as she was starting to feel despair, someone suddenly grabbed her hand, yanked downward, and led her crouching through a gap beneath the wall of people. Then they broke into a run and hid in the shadow of a nearby building.

Finally escaping disaster, Ling Luo pressed a hand to her chest and tried to catch her breath. The girl who had brought her out wasn’t breathing nearly as hard. She probably exercised regularly. Unlike Ling Luo, who stayed at home all the time and got winded after running just a short distance.

“Th-Thanks...”

Even though she still hadn’t caught her breath, Ling Luo thanked her first.

“No need.”

Unlike Ling Luo’s soft, cute loli voice, the other girl’s voice was lively, with a bit of youthful energy to it.

The girl also looked rather short, about the same height as Ling Luo’s loli mom, around one-fifty or so. She wore a white sports T-shirt, a white athletic skirt, and a pair of light-colored sneakers. Her smooth long hair was tied into a neat ponytail, and she wore a tennis cap. Under it was a delicate doll-like face.

That part definitely improved Ling Luo’s impression of her quite a bit. If she changed her hairstyle, she’d probably score even higher.

Overall, she gave off the impression of a sporty, petite girl. Judging by her height, she might still be a middle or high school student. After all, this university campus was open to the public, so it wasn’t strange for all kinds of people to come in. But that was only a guess.

If Ling Luo had to rate her appearance, she’d give her a seven. Mainly because of that doll-like face. The type of girls she liked tended to be on the cute side, and this one happened to hit her exact preferences. But that was about it. In other areas, she wasn’t really within Ling Luo’s strike zone.

Once the girl saw that Ling Luo had mostly recovered, she spoke up.

“Um, can I ask you something?”

“What is it?”

“Are you... Xiao Luo?” the girl asked, looking at her with anticipation.
