When her daughter wanted to discuss something, Mengya naturally wouldn’t refuse—she was even glad about it.

So Ling Luo told her mom everything: the contract she’d signed with her deskmate, and all the plans for tomorrow.

Ling Luo still had reservations. Was she going too far? But the matter involved the Succubus and the Demon Eye—secrets she couldn’t share. With no one else to turn to, she’d finally come to her mom.

Though her daughter was visibly uneasy about tomorrow, Mengya simply said she wouldn’t give her opinion. Ling Luo would have to decide—and take responsibility.

Her mom’s reply sounded like shirking duty, but just having someone listen eased Ling Luo’s heart. She’d already found her own answer.

...

The next morning, east of Guandu Bridge. Ten minutes till 9 a.m. A girl stood by the roadside, glancing at her phone now and then, waiting.

Average face, decent impression—but her outfit was carefully put together: a light strapless dress, white sandals, a tiny crossbody bag. Pure summer girly charm.

Not far off, Ling Luo leaned against a street tree, watching.

In human form, she wore only a T-shirt and shorts. Stunningly pretty, yet zero effort on style. *Guess bad fashion sense really is genetic?* she muttered.

“Xiao Yue’s here early,” Ling Luo whispered. “And that outfit? Definitely styled with care. She’s got a crush on Yi Xiao, no doubt. Hope today’s star performs well… saves me some magic power.”

Minutes later, Yi Xiao approached.

“Yo, the star’s finally here,” Ling Luo greeted.

“Ah! Lady Lilim—you’re so early!”

“Sure am. But *your* girlfriend beat me,” Ling Luo said with a wink, nodding toward Lin Xiao Yue.

“I can’t keep her waiting—I’ll go—”

Yi Xiao turned to leave, but Ling Luo stopped him.

“Wait. Did you prep your confession words?”

“Huh? Why ask *now*?”

“Did you or didn’t you?” Ling Luo’s tone sharpened.

“W-well… kinda…”

“Good enough. Take her to your place. Stay calm. Wait for my signal.”

“Really gonna work?” Yi Xiao asked nervously.

“Relax. Just do your part. Go—she’s waiting.”

“O-okay…”

He wanted to correct “girlfriend,” but let it slide and jogged over.

They exchanged greetings, then headed to Yi Xiao’s home.

Xiao Yue led the chat; Yi Xiao replied sparingly but warmly. The vibe? Smooth. High success odds—Ling Luo’s invisible assessment.

Ten minutes later, at the door. Yi Xiao opened it—his mom rushed out, ushering Xiao Yue in with cheerful warmth.

Inside, she fussed over Xiao Yue, chatted casually, then *casually* nudged their relationship. The almost-couple blushed, tongue-tied.

Sneaking in behind them, Ling Luo watched in despair. *She could talk all day. That unstoppable flow? Impossible to cut off.* Totally unlike her own mom—the “chatting genius.” Ever since Mengya revealed her Succubus identity, she’d crack lewd jokes just to fluster Ling Luo. Normal conversation? Forget it.

Poor Ling Luo: stomach growling, magic draining to stay invisible, face blank with despair. *Please wrap up… or Yi Xiao, just make a move!*

After thirty minutes? Enough.

“I should start lunch! You two chat in the room, okay?” Yi Xiao’s mom chirped, heading to the kitchen.

“Since Auntie said so… wanna go to the room?” Xiao Yue asked.

*She spoke first.* Ling Luo felt sorry for her deskmate.

“Ah—sure. Follow me.”

Yi Xiao led her to the study. (No guts for the bedroom. Study it was.)

Ling Luo stayed silent. Any private space worked.

Using the Demon Eye on his mom hadn’t cost much magic—but for starving Ling Luo? Salt on the wound.

Hand on her hollow stomach, hunger sharpening, she hurried after them.

“Your study’s nicer than mine!” Xiao Yue said, stepping inside.

Yi Xiao moved to follow—then a tug. He turned. Ling Luo—the little demon—pressed a finger to her lips.

“Shh. Quiet.”

He nodded silently.

“Classmate Yi Xiao? Aren’t you coming in?” Xiao Yue called.

“I’ll grab tea first. Wait inside!”

“Thanks!”

Back in the hall, Yi Xiao whispered, “Lady Lilim… what now?”

“Confess. Obviously.”

“But… you’re helping, right?”

“So you won’t even try yourself? Want me to do it *for* you?”

“Uh… kinda.”

*Sigh. Shortcut addict. Who wouldn’t be?*

“Fine. I’ll follow you in.”

“Thank you, Lady Lilim!”

Tea in hand, Yi Xiao reentered. Ling Luo dropped invisibility right behind him. Xiao Yue noticed instantly.

“Huh? Who’s—”

Their eyes met. Crimson light flashed in Ling Luo’s gaze. Xiao Yue froze—like a puppet with cut strings.

“What’s wrong with her?!” Yi Xiao gasped.

“Just hypnotized. Relax.” Ling Luo closed the door. “Now… you can do whatever you want with her.”

“Lady Lilim… what do you *mean*?” Yi Xiao’s gut tightened. This little demon was hinting at something dangerous.

“Not clear? I mean—go ahead and sleep with her.” Ling Luo said it deadpan.
